Hematite had stopped gawking at the knight and was instead focused on Painite as he processed what she told him. He nodded where it was appropriate, an unspoken gesture to Painite to keep explaining. He was relieved to hear the threat of knights was a relatively new one.
"It's a good thing they're so disorganized. Maybe we can get rid of them before they become too big of a problem." He rubbed at his head where he'd hit the pavement. That was going to hurt for a few days.
"Yeah, he has an agenda all right. Thinks we should share earth with the aliens. They're all the same now, spouting the same bullshit even as they keep trying to kill us. You just sort of... tune it out." He waved his other hand in a dismissive gesture.

"That's what I'm hoping," Painite agreed, grinning broadly. "A few of my friends and I have been hunting for them, either to put the fear of the Negaverse in them, or for a bit of revenge. They're already causing a ton of..."
She trailed off, her mind clicking into gear. The shield! The description Alunite had given matched the way the older knight at her feet looked. It was the guy who had nearly broken Alunite's nose! No one hurt her friends and got away with it, and she looked down to Camelot with a growl.
Except he wasn't there any more.
"Oh, bugger, where did he go?"
Camelot, meanwhile, had run while the two seemed to be in deep conversation. He stumbled away haphazardly, surprised he hadn't been noticed, before slipping into an alley and powering down. He was dizzy and confused, but he kept moving to get away from them as fast as he could.
Not a great day. He really needed to take a break.
Painite couldn't feel the knight's energy and frowned. Did they know how to teleport, or had two Negaverse Captains really just managed to let one run away from under their feet? She wasn't going to mention it, to anyone, either way.
"Well, I guess that's that lesson, then," she said, frown disappearing almost as soon as it appeared. She laughed and shook her head. Mistakes happened, as she told herself almost every day.

"I'll try not to forget," he frowned as well. The enemy was out of sight for them both. "Thanks for the rundown. I think I'm going to turn this energy in before something really bad happens, though."
He leaned down to pick up the orb. It would have been difficult to replace on short notice. At least the crazy earth knight hadn't run off with it or figured out to break it. There wasn't even a scratch on it. Then again, it wasn't quite a real thing, and didn't have to pretend very hard to look like it. Weird s**t. Not his problem. Straightening up, he turned back to Painite, even as he felt pain run all down his side from Camelot's attack.
"Good luck with the hunt, captain." He gave her a wave and then he wasn't there at all.
