Rishy just grunted in reply as she finished off the rest of the deer. being a parent was going to be interesting. none the less a parent of purewalkers like herself. she stepped back from the meal and began to clean herself off. she knew of a safe cave, but it belonged to another soquili, one that she considered her friend. she pushed the thought out of her mind, that cave would be her last resort. Rishy did not want to bring the misfortune of her mate down upon its owners. "lets go then." she started to walk, heading deeper into the forest.

Getting to his feet, Ghostpaw followed his mate, snapping up a bit of the deer on his way. Usually he bullied the mare into following his lead, but for now he was content to let her show him the way. Perhaps she new where she wanted to birth their foals. He really hoped they would not be pathetic weaklings.

Rishy walked deeper into the forest. she liked the idea of having her children raised in the darkest parts of the woods. finding a cave shouldnt be that hard, and if they found one that was inhabited, well there isnt much that can stand up to two purewalkers. Rishy let her instincts guide her. it felt weird knowing were she was going with out realy knowing. the ground began to slope ever so slightly upwards as they came up to a cliff that seemed to rend the forest in two. she looked down the length of the cliff, thank goodness they were at the bottom of it and not standing at the top.

Alert for dangers or another easy meal, Ghostpaw kept a careful watch over his mate. As they approached the cliff, he stared up at it, vaguely remembering another time he'd been near cliffs and the strange creature he'd met there. "Perhaps this will be a good place."

Rishy nodded and began to walk down the length of the cliff. she scanned its face for any sort of fissure or cavern that would make a good home. they had been walking for a short time when she saw it. the side of the cliff opened up, almost as if it had a mouth. Rishy walked up to the entrance and peered in. it seemed to go back for a ways, for she could not see its back wall. she looked to her mate. "this looks good, go check it out."

Ghostpaw bit back the urge to tell her to do it herself and headed inside the cave. Sniffing about, he headed toward the back, but found no other creatures. Whatever had once lived in this cave had long since vacated it. Returning to the entrance, he nodded for Rishy to follow. "Nothing lives here now except us. You can birth the cubs here."

Rishy went inside and looked around. she liked the feel of the cave, dark in the back but still allowed light through the opening. this place would do just fine. "good, now are you still hungry?" she felt kind of bad for eating most of the deer, but it was for the better.

The stallion growled with slight annoyance. She knew he was. "I'll hunt alone this time." So she wouldn't eat everything before he had a chance to. "I can bring back the skin. It might be comfortable to lie on when you birth the cubs."

Rishy just nodded and then went to the back of the cave. let ghostpaw go stuff his face, she was going to spend the rest of the night in her cave. she found herself oddly exhausted. the new revelation of her being pregnant, plus just being pregnant in its self left her wanting nothing more, at the moment, than to take a nice long nap. so thats what she did.

Ghostpaw just rumbled a bit and headed out to find another meal. Let his mate do as she pleased, so long as she didn't hinder him in their hunts and the cubs did not become a burden. There was no love between them, but he did understand that the foals would be stronger if he took care of her, so he would find another deer or, better yet, a lost Soquili to bring back to the cave to feed her and their unborn spawn.
