At least he thought about that, taking a careful step forward and then easing into a slow circling, not trying to get behind Camelot but only trying to get a good look. Not that intentions were always as clear as that, but Ilmenite kept his posture relaxed and weapon out of sight...

"I don't think we need your help. Either side." It was possible that something about his tone of voice, dry and dismissive and forcibly light, would rattle at Camelot's [or perhaps Tony's] memories, but it was easily attributed to their previous meeting. Sarcasm. Frustration. He was older than many of his peers, but Ilmenite was still young.

"If you want to end it, tell them to evacuate. To go home. How's that sound?"

Camelot tried not to tense, watching Ilmenite as he made to circle him. So far things seemed non-violent, but that didn't mean it would remain that way if he let his guard fall too much. When he got too far behind the knight, Camelot turned slightly, just to keep an eye on him.

Something in the back of his mind clicked as Ilmenite spoke, but he had no way of really knowing what it was. In a way, the Nega seemed more familiar than their one previous meeting in the alley seemed to allow. But only Camelot was even aware they had met before, and there was no way for Camelot to pursue or understand the strange flicker of recognition that vanished before the knight could even focus on it.

"I figured you might say something like that. I don't think I can do that, I'm afraid. And it wouldn't solve anything. But I'll be sure to pass on your thoughts to them when next I see them."

Though, in a way, he might actually do that. He did want to really understand what kept the senshi on earth, why they had come, as of the moment he didn't feel he truly knew. But that was a question for someone a little less bias against them than a Nega. Anyway, he had already gotten lectured in their side of the fight by another.

"Next time you're getting cozy, that'd be just great." Sarcastic and sharp, Ilmenite paused to consider Camelot for another moment -- circled around far enough that he was between the knight and the exit, that escape would be easy enough. And he was going to take it too, after this moment's pause, mouth twitching.

"And, for the record, this is my territory." He was backing up, now, chin raising, keeping his eyes on Camelot as he headed toward the mouth of the alley and beyond, away from possible confrontation. "Been here longer than you, that's for sure."

Camelot stopped, noticing where they had ended up. He did not like his escape route blocked off, as he was not that great at scaling the walls of buildings. He was getting better at jumping and scrambling up fire escapes and all that, but he still preferred the direct routes.

He wasn't lazy, he just didn't like getting himself bruised and battered just by running around.

When Ilmenite said that he had been around the area longer than Camelot he tried not to flinch. Technically that might be true.

But Tony had been there for eleven years. Twelve years now, he realized. The library and the area around it was his. He just couldn't say that, because, as much as his pride would love to put the kid in his proper place, he could not give himself away.

He growled.

"I don't believe that for a second," he said, "and I would not suggest coming back around here. I'll be here."

Ah -- but Tony wasn't the same as Camelot, was he? Just as Ilmenite wasn't the same as Ever. He was still backing up toward the mouth of the alley, and he was quiet for long enough that he got back out of reach, that it would be hard for Camelot to jump him if it came to that. Moving steadily, carefully, his chin tipped up and his expression going harder.

He hit what he decided was far enough, and gestured rudely in Camelot's ******** you, man. Find somewhere else to play martyr. Get a life." And now, of course, he would definitely come around here more.

Camelot frowned at the gesture, not appreciating this kid's attitude. Particularly when his language got questionable and he insulted Camelot's motives.

But he had to take the high road. He reminded himself one more time, just one more time, that he was not there to start a fight.

"Yes, yes, charming," he said, tensing again. He had his shield up still, despite himself, and he was looking around to see what paths he might be able to use. It looked as though the nega was taking a hike, though.

Or maybe he was being optimistic?

"It was a pleasure talking to you. Thank you for dropping by. If you stop by my turf again, be sure to announce yourself properly. I might not be so obliging next time."

Okay just one little threat. He had been good for the most part the whole rest of the conversation.

The nega was definitely taking a hike, snorting at Camelot as he backed up. A quick shake of his head and he turned to go, one hand thrown up in something like a goodbye. A very dismissive, indifferent good bye.

"Shaking in my boots." He'd finally turned his back on Camelot, to stomp out of the alleyway, wondering idly if he could pull off that holier-than-thou tone and attitude, the wide eyes and the stiff, awkward threats. Probably not. No one seemed to believe Ilmenite in the role of good guy.

Camelot growled but was relieved when the Nega left. Next time they met, maybe he would be able to better control himself. Not want to immediately run over to the guy and punch. Maybe things had been so tense because it was the first time after that whole cane throwing incident that the two had run into each other.

And this time Camelot would have been able to actually fight back.

He was glad, at least, that it hadn't come to that. He sighed, relaxing as he felt the energy of the Captain fading. Shaking his head, he glanced around before he powered down and used the side entrance to get back into the library.

He would have to try and argue his case properly next time.

For now, he had books to sort. It helped him relax.
