Mot idly waited and watched as Xiu romped around the store to find more hats. The fact she came back with so many amused him, as he smirked at the pile they had created. "Maybe." He replied, as she tried some rather strange hats on. "But we'll never know what suits you unless we try them all~." It was not as if he had other things to do anyway. This was fun~.
The mini hat was cute, but he wasn't sure if it was her style. Upon hearing her question, he shook his head. "Actually, my parents gave it to me after returning from a long trip. They don't usually surprise me with gifts so unboring, so I took a liking to it." He explained softly, rubbing his chin and looking over her hats.
"I'm curious, what kind of hats have you worn in the past that you liked? Perhaps you are better suited to a hair accessory?"

"Oh? That must be nice!" She smiled, though she also sighed as she discarded another few hats onto the reject pile, "Your parents have very nice taste! Your hat really does suit you well." Honestly, looking at him now, she couldn't imagine him wearing any other hat, or going without a hat at all. The fact that she now knew that he had eyes hidden behind that brim probably contributed to her opinion.
Xiu let out a long, drawn out, "hmmmm" as she considered Mot's questions, turning around to eye all the hats she had yet to try on. "Well the one I left at home was like this. Or this one. Maybe this?" She pulled off three more hats from the racks. As she tried them on, she considered the other option the boil had mentioned.
"Hair accessories? M-maybe. I admit that I rarely wear anything other than my Schisandra flowers." After a pause, she added in a meeker voice, "I'm sorry for taking up so much of your time. I didn't expect to be as indecisive as I am. I promise I'll find a way to make it up to you."

"Well thank you." He smiled at the compliment. He loved his hat, so nice things about said hat made him feel good.
"Oh, that one is nice." He stated suddenly as she tried the last hat, nodding. "Much more you."
Mot chuckled as she seemed to become rather apologetic and timid, shaking his head. "Not at all. My time is yours for now. Don't rush yourself for my sake."

"I do like it," She mused, turning so that she could see it from another angle. After a short pause, Xiu's face suddenly split into a grin, "This is the one! And it doesn't look like it's going to cost me a fortune either!" The price tag that dangled from this particular hat seemed merciful compared to some of the others she had tried on.
"But really, thank you," She replaced a couple of the rejected hats back to racks before heading towards the cashier, "I feel like I should return the favour or something." The only problem was that she didn't have any ideas as to what she could do.
Finally, she sighed, "Well, if you ever need to uh, buy something or if you need a second opinion, feel free to..." How did people put it? Ah, right. "Um, 'hit me up'. Anytime."

Mot nodded approvingly, a victorious grin on his face. "Wonderful!" Seemed they had their hat!
Mot helped Xiu put away the pile of hats, and escorted her to the register. Mot waved a dismissive hand at her offer, smiling politely. "No need. Just helping out a lovely ghoul in need is all the thanks I require." The smooth talking reaper replied, though listened to what Xiu had to say afterward. Her use of a certain phrase caused the boil to snort mildly, cupping his hand over his mouth. He composed himself and shook his head. "I shall, if I so need to later." It was not so much what she said, but in such a way she said it, made her sound frightfully sheltered. Adorably so.

As she handed over the pumpkin seeds to the cashier, she turned to look at Mot, only to see him with his hand over his mouth. Looking puzzled, she glanced up at him and blinked blankly, "Is something wrong?" Was it something she said? ...Ah.
"T-that is what I'm supposed to say, right?" What if it had a whole different meaning than what she thought? "Hit me up." The Baku suddenly grumbled, knitting her brows together thoughtfully, "Hit me up. Or is it...call me up? Doesn't that mean the same thing?"
"Miss?"
"Hm? Oh, yes! Thank you!" Grinning sheepishly, she quickly took the bag that contained her new hat. Digging though her obi, she withdrew her eyephone, her eyes widening slightly. "Oh, it's a lot later than I thought it was! Should we go?" She looked up at Mot and smiled, "Busy or not, surely you haven't finished all of your homework yet, have you?"

"Sorry, sorry~ No, you were right. Its Hit Me Up." Mot said, pulling his hand away from his mouth. "Parden my rudeness, your manner of speaking the phrase was simply adorable." He said with a grin, slipping a hand in his pocket. He was totally playing up the role of gentlemen, as far as the speaking was going. He wo7uld have taken her bag as well, had it been more than just a hat.
"Yeah, we should go." he answered back, leading the way out. "No, I suppose not all of it." He admitted with a smile. "I suppose I could ask for assistance from you, if I need it."

"Oh, good!" Xiu chirped, looking pleased that she had gotten it right her first time around. She would save this information for if she ever needed to use that phrase again in the future. At the comment that followed the reaper's apology, the little Baku blushed, but she also puffed out her cheeks and wagged her finger at him. "Tsktsk, Mot! Don't tease!"
She returned the smile (after she let all the air out of her cheeks, mind--it's hard to smile with your face puffed up like that) and bobbed her head enthusiastically. "If you need help, please feel free to ask! I'll try my best to help." If there was one thing about Xiu, it was that she would always be eager to help someone out, especially if she felt that she owed them a favour.
And they head back to the school, Xiu pulled out her eyephone again, giving it a little wave. "May I have your number, Mot? I like to send texts to friends every once in a while." Friends. Could she consider Mot as a friend? Well, he was certainly a nice reaper.
...Unlike another reaper boil she knew. Xiu puffed her cheeks out again at this thought.

Mot laughed as Xiu puffed her cheeks, waving his hands in surrender. "My bad~."
"Sure, you can have it." Mot answered, taking the phone from her hand and dialing his in his number for her. He handed it back soon after, a smile on his face. "Text me whenever you want." Mot liked to be friends with everyone. He was a bit of a social butterfly in that sense.

"Thank you!" She took back her phone, smiling at the screen and just seeming genuinely happy to have another contact added to her list. At this point, that made...three numbers that she had, but that was still pretty good! Especially if you considered that she expected to be quite timid and alone for her first few days at Amityville.
When they finally arrived back at the school, Xiu turned to Mot and suddenly bowed at the waist. "Thank you so much for accompanying me today!" She didn't straighten up yet, but tilted her head upwards slightly so that she could look at him, "Please let me know if I can do anything for you in return! Or uh, you can text me if you need help with your homework!" Since she had his number now, she would just send hers to him through a text.

Mot blinked as the ghoul bowed down. Oh well now, wasn't that just the sweetest thing? He smiled at her statement, and bowed down as well, copying her. "If I ever am in need of a helpful hand, I will text you, Xiu."
With that, he straightened up, fixing his hat, and waving a pointed finger at her as a wave. "Later~." And with that, the boil was off toward the Reaper dorms.
