    I agree entirely with the sentiments everybody else has expressed thus far. The fact that an innocent 11 year old boy could undergo that sort of trauma & abuse, & have it written off as a harmless "prank" by law enforcement is an absolute tragedy & outrage. Sexual abuse is NEVER a "harmless 'prank'" (& yes, under the law's own standards that exact same situation would easily be sexual abuse were the genders reversed & perhaps the kids a bit older). That boy's mother really, really better toughen up & file charges, 'cause those girls deserve hell. Who cares if they're 11? If they were four years old, that would be a different story. But 11 year olds know damn well what's wrong & what's right when it comes to s**t like that.

    In regards to the double standard that the cause for outrage in this story primarily hinges upon... I believe it's an increasingly huge problem in our society, & I for one am growing more & more disgusted with my own gender.

    Honestly, the MAJORITY of my male friends [in real life] have had at least one physically abusive girlfriend in their lifetime. & in most of these situations my male friends haven't been able to fully recognize it as abuse. Just last WEEK I spent hours & hours convincing my friend Drew -- who's 35, easily over 6 feet tall, & makes a living for himself dealing drugs mostly in really tough neighborhoods -- to go down to the courthouse & at least just ask the clerk for the paperwork needed to file a restraining order. He was convinced that the situation wasn't abuse (it clearly was), & that what he or I thought didn't even matter anyway since nobody would take his claim seriously (which was a definite possibility). Meanwhile he was hiding out at my apartment because he couldn't go anywhere that this girl knew he might be at. A few days ago the cops actually helped him file a restraining order against her after she started a violent fight with him in broad daylight (which she'd apparently done before, & each time he was originally blamed for it & then once the truth was found out no action was taken against her) & literally attacked him with a kitchen knife. He has a few dozen stitches from the damage she did, & he has to undergo at least one surgery in order for one of his hands/wrists/fingers to regain full function/movement.

    Anyway, I know that that story was somewhat off topic, but I really wanted to further illustrate just how enormous & horrible of an epidemic women abusing men is.

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep...

Society has created a lie about men since the 19th century, when the pro-feminist movement began. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying women shouldn't be allowed the right to vote, the right to a fair, equal wage, the right to attend college, or any of the other just battles that have been won by feminists. What I am saying is even though women still earn a fraction of what men do, that gap is slowly closing as legal battles are being won, and tolerance and diversity is commonplace in the work area.

With the pay equality battle nearly over, the feminist movement is branching on to bigger and better things (I mean that sarcastically), and mostly it involves labeling the male gender as something awful. Rapists. Pigs. Murderers. Thieves. Beer chuggers. Idiots. Genuine assholes. War dogs. The list goes on. They are perpetuating this awful stereotype which causes us to be targeted out as the culprits. The offenders. The ones most likely to get rough and beat kids around. In that time, they feel self assured that they can conversely react with the same type of behavior they condemn men for. It's what you'd call hypocrisy in its finest form, and to be honest, I'm sick of it.

Sorry, just a factual error, it was two girls. They are also "middle school aged," meaning anywhere from 10-14, so they could have been both older or younger than 11. I want to bet older.

Dear genitals,

Thank you for not bleeding every month.

Sincerely, men.

All right. So I was reading along and mostly going along with your post even though I can see now that we won't see eye to eye on a few things concerning this particular discussion.

But what is this really? Period jokes? Sarcasm? That's nice =/
I was attempting to be civil.

Why is it that I am not allowed to make a joke anywhere? Lighten up a little.

I can understand why the family and community would be outraged (maybe even the state). But why the entire nation? Yes it was wrong and yes it should be addressed, but there are so many more things terribly wrong in the country much larger than one little incident that happened to a single middle-schooler. Why is it that these issues get ignored year after year and yet things like "Katrina victims reunited with pets" makes national news? Again I can understand that it is a pretty important event, but if you were to publish every news-worthy event in the nation, you'd have a 25 hour/day news broadcast every day.

Hardy har har. A joke that demeans a natural, biological function of my body as a means of making me, as a woman, become hysterical and thereby diminish anything I ever say as worthless and meaningless. Even when I'm not on my period! LOL rolleyes

It wasn't funny the first thirty times I heard it. If I were to make a joke about men being pigs it wouldn't be quite a funny joke as evidenced by one of your posts in here somewhere, but this apparently is? You know what? I stand by what I originally said about the crime committed against this young man. The girls should be punished for it.

But now I'm afraid I really don't have anything else to say to you. I will respectfully withdraw. Good day.

Shoot-- look, forget I said it. I didn't mean to upset you. I stepped out of line a bit and I apologize. No, nothing gives someone the right to tease others about things they can't control.

It's blending entertainment and information. Whatever gets the best ratings. It's been that way for a long time.

It doesn't sound like this applies to your friend and his instance, but much of the problem with female-on-male abuse, the issue boils down to nothing but machismo. It becomes pretty clear in many cases that man is just far too macho to talk about it or even to fill out the paperwork to take any sort of legal action. They'd rather suffer physical abuse than admit that they were "beaten up by a girl."
Sadly, this is often the case in even adult relationships, despite how juvenile and insipid it sounds. That's why female on male abuse is so rarely discussed.

imma just say this isn't right. those girls deffinatly need to be punnished as if they were sex offenders; because in truth, they are.
people cannot expect to be able to do somethign so traumatizing to someone, video tape it, post it on a world wide site, and then expect not to go unpunnished when in fact; just them posting it would be enough evidence to convict them {and in this day and age; that's manly directed at men i'm sad to say}
so even if they are minors; they should still have reprocussions for their actions. and i don't mean their parents grounding them, i mean the whole 'jurry, judge, and jail.' deal.

{and man this is kinda late into this topic but i had to say something because i've had an issue with a perv/stalker before; so this one kinda hits hard....in a way..}

I feel so embarrassed to be a girl.They should be prosecuted as if it was a boy doing that to a girl,simple as that.Just because it's two girls it doesn't mean they can get off the hook with nothing but a warning and the Attorney in the video seemed to have sided with the girls with saying that they should be punished and to not have their future ruined?Their future was already ruined the moment they thought of that 'prank'.

This, in a sense, makes all young girls look bad, and these 3 (the attackers and the fool that filmed it) should face some sort of punishment for it. Personally, I would recommend that they get sent to a girl's home for a minimum of a year where they'll learn a little respect for others around them and maybe a little common sense. Not to mention, after an act like this, they don't deserve to have boys around them. This is cruel and uncalled for.
