Luckily, it must have been someone else's brain that she smelled. He didn't know it, but she was moving away from him as he searched desperately for a weapon, to defend himself from the pack of non-existent wolves. Instead, however, something sharp closed on his hand, teeth digging into his flesh and tearing, and he let out a loud exclamation of fear, at first thinking it was one of the five who had found him. Instead, whatever it was disappeared as quickly as it had come, vanishing without a trace as he continued to scramble for a weapon to protect himself with.

Unfortunately, this only made things worse. They were playing with him now. He had been too easy to stalk, he always had, and now they had him and were circling him, just playing with their food.

Before she'd gotten too far, she found herself in front of a nest. Since she hadn't read the rules of the maze, she didn't know what she was supposed to do here..

.. But that didn't stop her from checking within for any spoils of war.

Her head swiveled to one side as a wisp of thought brushed against her mind. She could tell it was Nukpana, but she could hardly tell what he was saying - and why would he be trying to talk to her, unless he was in trouble?

Nuk? She called out, tentatively. The teasing was over. Are you all right?

And just like that, it started to fade. The voice, definitely not predatory now, gave him reason to pause, and he looked around for a second, still holding the claw he had found as a weapon. It wasn't gone completely -- the sound of rustling beside him made him spin, holding out the claw as if he were going to slice the throat of whatever lunged at him. Nothing came however... after a second, he stopped staring at the brush, moving stealthily through the maze, although far less so now. In fact, he was practically upright, blinking a little to peer through the darkness, almost looking for the purple demoness. Hesitantly. Because that burning in his muscles hadn't quite left yet.

"...Riley?"

It's me, Nuk. I have no idea where you are, but I'll find you.

She paused, trying to make sense of the feeling she'd captured accidentally, before tacking one last thought in.

I'm sorry I chased you in here.

Yes, he was definitely calm now. Riley's voice was distinct now, the whispers fading into something much more genuine, and certainly not the cruel cackling of his brothers chasing him in the dark. Stopping for a second as he heard her voice, he made a face as he realized he couldn't figure out where she was from that, scowling a little at his own stupidty. Speaking up (although softly -- oh god, no more raptors, those little buggers hurt) he continued to meander idly, hoping she could find him.

"Uh, I'm totally lost... but you can obviously hear my voice, right?"

Pausing as h e heard something crunch beneath his foot, he glanced down to see it was a twig, standing in the middle of what looked to be a nest of some sort. For a second he was horrified, remembering the damn raptors as they'd torn him to shreds before pulling him back to the beginning, but then something caught his eye.

"What the jack is this?"

Takeo managed to just hold back a scream of pain from the bite. His poo hand retreated as he stared at the teeth marks that was starting to ooze blood. The Night Fury's eyes glazed over slightly as he held back tears as he whimpered. What a horrible, horrible maze. As soon as he got his treasure he was out of here! Using his uninjured hand he dug into the nest again. He knew he felt something there before...

There! grabbing the thing he pulled staring at it momentarily before holding the arm of his wounded hand. He had enough, it was time for him to get out of this maze.

Huh... a ribbon? That was... random.

Still, Nuk stuck it in his pocket along with the claw and feather, still meandering around the maze, looking for Riley. Perhaps this had been a bad idea... it was all well and good to lose the demoness, that goal he had achieved and achieved well (with the exception of the raptors... he'd have nightmares for MONTHS of those tiny little teeth and claws,) but finding her was proving impossible.

In fact, he was so fail at it, before he found Riley, he found the entrance, stumbling out of the fake foliage and next to the booth, blinking up at the professor before looking down at the poptart box and cupcake there waiting for him.

"Oh hey, my stuff -- thanks man."

Grabbing his stuff, he looked over the two prizes he had managed to get in the maze, looking up at the professor again quizzically.

"Can I keep this?"

Takeo was not a happy dragon, in fact he seemed to have lost all his excitement he had earlier. The maze had drained him. By the time he hit the entrance he almost seemed to glare at everything.

Huffing lightly he trudged past Nuk and Riley to swipe his own cupcake he left there earlier before his yellow eyes fell on the professor. He'd have to remember NOT to take any of his classes in the future. "Where can I wash...?" he muttered unhappily still holding his arm hoping it wasn't going to get infected...
