Taken from Vincent's Journal Journal, A boy! Lissy had a boy! A wonderful, perfect, bouncing baby boy! We have decided to call him Bentley. We were a bit unprepared, actually--I was certain that he would be a she, and so we had decided on the name Eleanore. He was a wonderful surprise, journal! Bentley Miran Sadril. Even his name is perfect. He's ours, journal. Mine and Lissy's. He's beautiful, from his feathered halo to his silver tail. He's definitely has Lissy's hair. Thick and black. Oh, I can't wait to introduce him to the rest of the family! If I can get him away from Lissy long enough. I'm not sure. Maybe while she's sleeping? Oh, and his eyes! They're bright green. He has slits on his forehead--I hope they're only for decoration and that he doesn't take after Lissy in that way. We'll be in a world of trouble if he does, but I suppose that's half the fun of parenting. He's got pointed ears like Lissy, journal. I'm thankful he got most of his looks from his mother--goodness knows what he would have looked like if he'd gotten them from me! He's got two stubby tentacles, too, each with a purple jewel. Don't know where those came from, but they show his worth. Bentley is more precious to me than any jewel. Just like Lissy. Bentley doesn't do much yet. Currently he's sleeping--but soon he'll be crying again. I think he gets that from me. He already seems greedy--but maybe that's normal for babies his age? I wouldn't know. The only infants I've dealt with were my younger sisters -- and they weren't infants very long. Not long enough for me to know much about them, anyway. It's hard to believe that Bentley hasn't been in our lives forever. He fits so perfectly, as if we've been waiting for him our entire lives. Maybe we have. Even though he's only been here a day, I can't imagine life without him. I look forward to spoiling him! Does that sound strange, coming from me? I want to buy the entire toy store for him! It might take a bit of saving, but eventually, I'll achieve the goal. It's nice, just being able to watch him sleep. It's as if nothing could end the peaceful dreams he's enjoying. I know better, though. As soon as he gets hungry... Well, I imagine you know a bit about babies, journal. I don't envy Lissy. I'll be helping, though. She won't be the only adult waking up in the middle of the night. She shouldn't have to take care of Bentley on her own; she should rest! She carried him, after all. I look forward to introducing Bentley to Kaleb. He's been feeling down lately, so I figured Bentley might cheer him up. I don't think it's possible for someone to look at him and not smile. My brother needs someone to make him smile. Bentley might be that person. It's funny. Bentley's only a day old, and I'm already imagining what he'll be like when he's older. While he was awake, he seemed alert. I know it probably sounds strange, describing a new baby as "alert", but I can't find any other word that fits. There was something -- well. He had a look of intelligence about him. He's special, journal. Maybe it was my imagination, maybe I'm biased because he's mine. Ours. Mine and Lissy's. Lissy's and mine. Our beautiful, perfect, bouncing baby boy.

IM RP Lissy, Bentley, Vinny Elisabetta pulled her hair back into a ponytail a second before her feet landed on the warm sand. Even though it wasn’t the beach next to her family’s home, it still felt like a home coming to her. How many times had she and Tally snuck out at night to swim? Roman’s first swim, that crab latching onto her beach bag, and now, she was able to share those adventures with her son. As usual, the young mother was dressed in neon pink, except now it came in the form of a skimpy string bikini. She shook out the kinks in her body from the trip, and then turned back to the car to unstrap Bentley. “Come on, big man. You can come with me while daddy gets everything else.” Vincent had been stuck carrying--well, everything. Sans Bentley. Sunscreen, a blanket to sit on, an umbrella, a small cooler packed with food, and of course, Bentley's diaper bag. The young man didn't think they would need everything they'd brought--at least he hoped not. "Hey Lissy, wait up," he called, struggling to keep up with his armload of stuff. "Daddy," Bentley agreed, beaming up at his- mother. Where were they? He'd never been here before! It was exciting! Where there shiny things? --he'd spotted one. The infant pointed at the water, gleaming in the sun. "Mine!" “You didn’t have to carry it all at once!” She clicked her tongue. Elisabetta bounced Bentley up to get a better hold on him, grateful when her longest tentacle acted as a mini seat for him. “Hmm?” Her bi-colored eyes followed the infant’s finger to the crisp ocean waves ahead. She couldn’t keep the smile off her face when she turned back to him. “That’s right, sweetie. It’s all yours; but just for today.” She bumped his nose with hers. “The ocean isn’t something you can own. That’s what makes it so nice.” Then, almost as if she forgot, Lissy looked up to see how Vincent was handling it. “Honey? Do you need help?” "If I'd left it in the car, someone would have stolen it," Vincent explained. Greed logic, someone was always after his stuff. Always. "Does this look like a good spot?" he asked, pointing to a log they could use for seating. "It's shaded, so Bentley won't get sunburnt--" he paused and looked up. "What? No, I'm fine, Lissy." No need to make her do any work he could do. She needed rest. "Mine," Bentley didn't seem to comprehend what his mother was saying. It was his! His! Just for today? What kind of rule was that? He frowned slightly and tapped his mother with a tentacle. "Mine!" he told her again, pointing in case she'd forgotten. It was pretty. It shone in the sun like the plastic jewels his father had given him. Elisabetta rolled her eyes. Greed logic was like hoarder logic in her mind, and she suspected that one day, Vincent would be showing Bentley’s kids his stamp collection or something equally as obsessive. “Alright, if your sure.” She moved to sit down on the log, and while holding Bentley in one arm, snatched up the sunscreen in the other. She wasn’t sure if he would burn or not, thanks to his skin but she didn’t like taking chances. “Hang on a sec, Bentley. I promise we’ll go out in the water soon.” She squirted sunblock on his leg, and started rubbing. “Patience is a virtue you obviously don’t have.” Vincent started setting up. He put the umbrella into position and put it up so the sun's harmful rays weren't hitting his fiancee and precious sun. He placed the cooler where it would be the most shaded, so the ice wouldn't melt as quickly. That done, he sat down next to Lissy and, careful not to interfere with her putting sunblock on Bentley, put an arm around her waist. Bentley stuck his tongue out at his mother, before giggling. That tickled! What was she doing? He paused, and watched her with wide green eyes. "Oooh..." he said, poking at his leg. "Whassat?" Elisabetta snuggled into her fiancée’s embrace; bringing one leg underneath her while she dug the other into the warm sand. Normally there was no place she’d rather be than curled up next to her two favorite men, but she couldn’t ignore the call of the ocean for much longer. “Stuff.” She finished his legs and tail quickly, moving on to his little arms. “It keeps the sun from hurting you. That way you can play all day, and still be happy. Vincent, would you mind putting this up?” She held out the sunblock. “We’re ready to go.” "Suff," Bentley repeated, beaming. Whatever this stuff was, it was nice. It let him play all day without getting hurt? it was definitely a friend. He reached for the bottle of sunblock. "Mine!" he said, but allowed his father to take it. Daddy would take care of it until he got back from seeing the water. "Mine now?" he asked, pointing at the ocean. Vincent stood, grinning at his fiancee. "He might be the opposite of patience," he teased, putting the sunblock back into its proper pocket in Bentley's diaper bag. "Don't go too far out into the water, alright?" [Unfinished]

Dear Journal,
Lissy here. Today my bundle of--
This is Kaleb, actually. Not Lissy. Believe me, if I were Lissy, Vincent would have never been able to catch me. What she sees in him, I've no idea. But that's probably because he's my older brother. Just knowing he's done that with someone makes me want to gag. Yuck. Vincent's insisting I write this because I was the one who saw it. I was babysitting Bentley, playing catch with him. You know, just rolling the ball back and forth. He's alright sitting up on his own, Cent told me. He said it was alright, because Bentley knows how to crawl even. Anyway. Bentley and I were playing outside on the grass, and the wind blew the ball to the side. I was about to get up, but Bentley told me not to. You know, he's pretty good at talking. Probably comes from his mother.
Well, Bentley got up. It's kind of hard to describe. He kind of wobbled and I was sure he'd fall over at first, but then he took a step. He stumbled a bit and I moved to catch him (because Vincent would kill me if anything happened to Bentley while he was in my care). He'd probably snap my neck if he could. He probably would, too. Anyway, I caught Bentley and helped him up again. He beamed at me (he does everytime I do something he likes, when I do something he doesn't--well, let's say I see his father in him).
I helped him walk the few feet to the ball. Vincent and Mom made such a big deal about it. I guess it is pretty exciting, a baby learning how to walk--but it didn't seem like one at the time. We were just playing. I wasn't thinking about Bentley walking, or anything. I don't think he was, either. He just wanted to get the ball. I mean I would have recorded it if I'd realized sooner it would be so important to Vincent and Lissy.
I guess when people have babies, everything the baby does is important. I hope Vincent's not the type to coo at Bentley the first time he spits up on someone. Hopefully he's more of a man than that. Honestly... I don't think I'd be able to stand it if he did.
Anyway, now Bentley knows how to walk, I guess. He's not very good at it. I mean, he trips and stuff and he goes back to crawling off and on.
I know Vincent says Bentley's part humility, but I don't really see it. Maybe it's because he's still a baby, and all babies are vain or something. I heard toddlers especially like looking at pictures of themselves, or in the mirror. Bentley hasn't gotten to that point, yet.
- Kaleb
