Remembering how old she was when she was recruited, the naivete that Charonite had preyed on to spin his story, Lina could have given him a very concise and bitter reason for why high schoolers. The fact that Gehenna didn't consider all senshi saints had him notching up a few more positive points in her mental book of Cool People. Nemesis, huh? It would be a question for Castor when she got home in one piece for a change.
"I can try my best. I'm still not sure there is a reason or if this is just two cosmic forces playing some sick game with a bunch of kids who have no idea what they're really doing, but I can tell you what I know." She hesitated for a moment and then grinned a bit self-deprecatingly. "Without sarcasm for the most part even." There were probably a few things that were bound to have a sneer or quip thrown in somewhere. It just wasnt' bearable otherwise.
Looking up into the sky she pondered the time. How late was it? Well, it didn't really matter. She had nowhere to be and this was a touch important. "Do you have anywhere to be or anyone waiting for you? I can do what I can tonight or you can call me when you have time again. My civilian life is a bit of a bummer after all this so I hang around my place a lot." Boy was that an understatement.

He watched her from that same rolled-head position for a long time, letting her say her piece about her opinion on the whole thing. He didn't even really know enough about anything yet to know what the two cosmic forces would be. He was that much in the dark and, up until the conversation now with Lina, it hadn't really bothered him.
But Khal was the same age as these soldiers, Vanessa was too. He had thought Delphine was normal until he punched her in the face. Everywhere around him there were more soldiers, more senshi, more things that shouldn't ******** exist. He was passive when it was just him and Meri fighting monsters, but could he stay that way now that he knew this went way beyond creepers in the storage room?
"No," he answered quickly, in a tone that seemed more business than his joking attitude before. He pushed himself off of the wall and brought a hand up to rub at the back of his neck. When he dropped it again, he settled that dark gaze on her. "I've got all the ******** time in the world right now. Maybe we could go be bums at my place though? A change from being a bum at yours, at least."

Rattling her own slush with the dry slurping sound that signaled the end of a good thing, Lina sighed and nodded almost mournfully. "Sure, let me just..." Holding up a slim black finger, the teen darted back inside the 7-Eleven and came back out with another giant blue drink. "There. I'm all set to go bum around your place like a proper hanger-on." Sugar was the perfect fortification about a discussion she didn't precisely want to have but knew she had to do anyway.
She also idly wondered what the hell she'd been wearing before powering up to go on nightly patrol. Had Daphne bothered to put on something other than the customary tank, shorts, and Elzo shirt combo that was her habitual wear? God, she hoped she was wearing pants. And a bra.
Deciding to play the outfit roulette in furtherance of awareness, Lina Knight held out an arm in a sweeping gesture. "Lead on? I'm sure I can keep up. Should probably power down about a block from your place though, to keep things all on the level." God, she really really hoped she was wearing pants.

Gehenna's brows rose for a second as she dismissed herself into the store, then fell with a laugh as she returned with a refill. He couldn't really blame her, they were delicious. In fact, he was kind of regretting crushing his own cup already.
Oh well, he had beer at the apartment.
"It's this way," he jerked his head and thumb in the same direction before turning on his heel and walking diagonally through the parking lot and towards the sidewalk the lead towards his apartment. He had no doubt she would just fall in line with him.
"I have roommates but one is hardly ever home and the other," he glanced down at his wrist as if he were going to check the time, then sighed at himself for forgetting he was watchless and shrugged, "the other one probably isn't home yet on a night like this anyway." For such a small apartment with three guys, they were rarely ever there all at the same time. It was kind of odd.

Unable to resist a natural mischief and the fact that putting her foot in her mouth was an impulse that couldn't be checked, Lina just grinned. "I doubt they'd say much about you bringing a girl back anyway." Then she remembered Zac, blinked a bit, and fell back in step with a little skip to match their strides again. "Unless that is rare then sorry and I will have to uh...pretend to be your sister or something." Oh yeah that'd go over really well. They looked loads alike.
"I can start with the basics while we walk though. No need to waste time and you gotta get through my personal story anyway." A sip of slurpee for sugary courage and a sigh. "When I was sixteen this big burly black guy with purple hair came up to me and asked me about what I was reading. I think it was some Machiavellian thing or whatever, research for a class. Long story short we argued and he asked me if I wanted to change the world." Shoulders rolled with discomfort, remembering how eager she had been to sell her soul to Charonite.
"Hop skip and jump later and I've got this talking cat telling me how to stick my hand in someone's chest and kill 'em. Not sure if you're aware of that but most of the deaths about two years ago were the Negaverse. We were taking star seeds....uhm." How did you explain a star seed when you couldn't simply pull one out and show it off? Damn that was a frustrating little loss. Even thinking of star seeds had Lina's hands burning with memory and she had to look down at the pavement for a moment. "They're basically crystals that hold your life force. Energy that is drained comes back. Someone takes your star seed? You're toast. The body lives on but eventually dies if it's not put back." That's how Magellan had lived. Lina would always regret not eating that senshi brat's star seed when she had the chance.
"Following along?"

Gehenna smirked at the comment and simply brought his arms up over his chest, crossing them as he walked along at her side. His boots beat a metallic click into the pavement, like they were keeping pace for the pair's long walk. But as for the comment on women? That smirk was the only comment she was getting.
Though it quickly died as she set into her story.
His eyes slid up to stare at the horizon as he lead them along the path to his apartment, growing more and more distant as he internalized the information she was saying. It was hard to believe, especially since it was borderline 'this doesn't make any ******** sense' but something about the way she spoke made it impossible to crack even the smallest joke. Not even about a giant black man with purple hair.
"I'm following as best as I can, this is just.." He uncrossed his arms momentarily to wave his hands at the air, then promptly recrossed them and shook his dreaded head. "If I wasn't a magical super hero I would think you were ******** insane."
