Cody grinned and nodded. "Sure." He figured Edes would be fine with Luska visiting the baby at least. Hopefully he wouldn't simply demand no one enter their home other than family till the kid was nearly their age. That... That would be terrible. "Ah, well, if you say so then I can't argue with you,"
As Luska ran off to find more clothing, Cody turned to look over the other outfits that spread across the entire area set aside specifically for baby clothes. And to think, their kid would probably outgrow it all within a few months. Maybe it was wiser, and cheaper, to just buy larger outfits for the kid to grow into... Unfortunately, Luska returned before he could finish his silent musings on money. "I do like them. They're really cute, Lulu," he replied, surprised at how each one seemed to match either him or Edes in some way, shape, or form. The pink one matched his hair feathers and the gray one matched Edes' wings... How odd that Luska managed to do that without having ever met him.
"These will be great. Yeah, you did a great job," Cody replied with a grin, wondering how many more outfits he should grab. Maybe these would be enough for now, considering everything else he'd have to buy as well. Might as well buy in stages as he got paychecks and figured out what he COULD spend in the end with each passing week. "Hm, what else should we get..." he muttered, attempting to find his list again.

Luska was glad to finally hear Cody say, for certain, that she would get to visit the baby. She couldn’t wait. Maybe, before the baby was born, she could sew him, or her, a stuffed animal of his or her very own! It wouldn’t be that hard to do. Maybe a stuffed horsey! She would start on it right away.
Luska was quite pleased to hear that he liked the outfits she had picked out. “Lulu is glad Cody likes the outfits! Shouldn’t Cody get the baby some pajamas as well though? After that, hmm...” Luska had to think on that, she wasn’t quite sure what they should get next; a baby needs so many things. What was most important? Then it hit her. “Cody should get the baby bottles and formula!” Giggling slightly, she added, “Lulu doesn’t think that the baby will be able to be fed the natural way, so that’s important!”
Suddenly, a question popped into her head, one she couldn't help but ask. "Why is Edes having the baby and not Cody? How was it decided?"

Cody nodded. Pajamas sounded like a good idea. After all, the kid couldn't sleep in the nude or it's underwear or even in some random day clothes. Edes would throw a fit if the kid didn't. Kids required far too much work, it seemed, for something so small. "Yeah, pajamas, bottles, and formula. Sorry, trying to remember so many things at once is getting to me," he replied with a soft sigh. Shopping sucked, end of story. At least, that was the feeling he was getting the longer he was there.
Then he was asked why he wasn't having the baby. Like a switch being flicked, his face turned a fabulous pink color and he cast a pleading look to her guardian. "Wh-wh-why not m-me? I... Uh..." Cody stuttered out, panicking a bit. How was he to explain this to Luska? Edes wanted the baby and was more the motherly type than himself? That seemed like the best explanation without being... weird or more awkward than it was. "I... Uh..."

At Cody’s agreement that pajama’s were needed, Luska was back on the search. Most of the pajamas were in their own separate section, along a walled fixture that jutted through the center of the infant department. As she browsed the pajamas, she tried to keep in mind the bay cribs she had seen. The cutest one, that she could recall, was mostly white, with a yellow trim. Of the available pajamas, she decided on some yellow footsy pajamas. The baby would need at least one more set though, for when her first set was dirty, or when she went to stay with other people. She decided on some that had a white background, with purple flowers and yellow blue and pink spots. She hurried back to Cody to show him. “Does Cody like them?” she asked as she held them up. Then she added, pointing to an aisle in the opposite direction from the plushies, “Lulu thinks the formula and bottles are over there.”
Seeing Cody’s pleading face, Vilyum cut in and tried to help him out, “Well, um, I am sure that Cody just cares for Edes and wanted to let him experience the joy of pregnancy.” He wasn’t sure what the actual reasons were, but he had to try and help out, but then thinking what he just said, he quickly blurted out. “Not that you should be in any rush to experience it, actually it’s rather uncomfortable I hear. No need to rush into things Luska.”

"Yeah. That's it. That's what happened and like he said, no need to rush into things," Cody confirmed quickly, trying hard not to blush even more. He definitely didn't want his hair and face ending up being the same color. Oh god, that would be terrible as all get out. Already the conversation was bad enough even with Vilyum helping out and giving him a way out of actually explaining things. If only Edes was around... he thought with a mental sigh, figuring the spawn would have a way easier time figuring out how to explain things than he would.
"Huh? What? Oh, yeah, I do like them. I like them a lot Lulu," Cody replied with a grin, glad that he could finally change the subject. Or at least have something else to focus on that wasn't so awkward to talk about around someone as young and innocent as Luska. Gently putting the clothes into the cart, he steered it around towards where she thought the formula stuff was. "Well, lets head there next then. Grab some bottles, some formula, then go find a crib or some plushies or wherever you said would be after," he continued, smiling a bit. Maybe things won't be so bad after all...

“Oh, ok,” Luska replied simply. She guessed that made sense. As for the other part, well, she liked kids, but she had never thought about actually having one herself. She didn’t know the whole process, but from what little she did know, it seemed, well, it seemed icky to her. Though in Cody’s case, it definitely hadn’t been in the natural way; the lab must have done something to help. She didn’t like the lab, not in the slightest, but that seemed a much cleaner way to have a kid. Not something she would do anytime soon, if ever. Looking up at Cody, she suddenly asked, curious as to why he would be embarrassed, “Why is Cody’s blushing? His face is so red, it practically matches his hair.”
Luska was glad to hear that he liked them, she smiled sweetly at his statement. “Lulu is glad she can help!” she replied. “So bottles and formula next?” she asked, “Those shouldn’t be too hard to pick out. They probably don’t make the bottles in that many colors. Lulu hopes they have some pretty pink bottles for Cody’s baby!” They really should make a large variety of bottle colors; they should come in all colors of the rainbow. The formula would be easy as well, that wasn’t going to be in a wide variety of colors, but Luska wasn’t as concerned by the lack of colors in the formula. She started off towards the bottles and formula, turning to make sure that Cody was following.

Cody chuckled softly, biting his lip gently in thought. "Well, it's just... I'm awkward with that stuff is all," he finally replied after several long moments of silence. Well, he was after spending most of that awkward pre-teen and teen age stealing things and generally being more wrapped up in his gang and insanity than even caring about the hormonal world and maturing that way. So in the end, after all those wasted years, such talk still made him feel incredibly awkward and shy.
"Pretty pink bottles? Lulu, what if the kid's a boy? I know I have pink hair and all but I don't think EVERYTHING should be pink!" Cody laughed, knowing he was exaggerating about everything being that color but hey, it amused him how attached to the color she was. As Luska headed off for the aisle, he followed behind her, slowly dipping into his thoughts as he did. Vaguely, the memory of him giving her a feather from so long ago arose, making him smile slightly. "Hey Lulu? I know it sounds random but do you still have that feather I gave you forever ago?"
