“More then you care to admit? Hmm.” Vilyum thought about it for a moment, the exits were too far separated to make one overlaying grid. He could possibly set up separate security perimeters at exits. He had plenty of defenses in place, but if he were to add one, it would seem pointless not to place them on, at least, all of the exits. He preferred things to be even like that. “Then would 20 be reasonable? And am I imagining it correctly, like let’s say you had 4 arranged in a rectangular shape, and placed a piece of paper with a corner at each device. The alarm would be sounded if anyone, not already approved, passed through any point of the paper, not just the edges. So anything over or under would not raise an alarm, but if you say, placed each ball at the corner of a door, someone walking though would set it off, merely by passing through the space in between, even though the actual perimeter line might of not been crossed? Also, what are we talking about price wise? It would probably be wiser to have them form a full perimeter around the house, but due to the unusual shape and size, that would be a bit difficult to arrange and require and extensive network of them. So I am considering limiting it to separate networks for each exit, plus an extra for the little one.”
Áróra smiled at Caelen and nodded slightly. “Yeah, I guess…. I was just upset about the mousey, it was cute and now it’s just…gone. I don’t…like…the bitey box.” Her gaze turned downward for a moment, but then returned to Caelen. “How about you? Are you alright? And, um, sorry about the lights.” She giggled slightly at that last part, it wasn’t the first time she had dimmed lights, but it was the first time she had done it without trying. She had been angry though, as she was the first time she used her technomancy. She hoped she didn’t have to be angry every time she used her magic. It felt alright at the time, but afterwards, looking back at it, she didn’t like that feeling.

"20 is an acceptable amount," Xithian stated flatly, showing no emotion or shock in his voice. "Ssseeing how one isss rathhher ussselesss, I normally sssell thhhem in sssetsss of 4 anyway. Sssince you will be buying five sssetsss, I will dissscount thhhem to $20 a ssset." As far as any discerning was concerned, he was telling the truth, and no "sense motive" spell would say he was lying. "Your asssumption of thhheir capabilitiesss isss quite accurate."
"YOU DID DAT?!" Caelen gasped and shouted at the same time. His mouth hung open for just a brief second before he began firing off questions. "How'd ya do dat? Cans you teach me? I fought it was jus' da lec-... wec'tricity! Was dat magic? Can you do it again?" His excitement was evident in his near bouncing as he asked.

”Ok, then 20 it is, and again, sorry about the lights,” Vilyum replied as he reached into an inner coat pocket. Pulling out his wallet, he opened it up and pulled out a $100 bill. “Oh, is that plus tax or will 100 cover it?”
Áróra couldn’t help but giggle at Caelen’s reaction. He was so excited about it, just as she was about learning it! “Well um, then I did it then, it was an accident. It was cause of the bitey box. With more training, I should be able to control it better. And um, I don’t really know it so well, yet, so I don’t really think I could teach you it. My teacher had to test me to see if I could learn it and then I have to go back for lessons.” She bit her lip slightly at his last question. She wouldn’t be able to do anything as exciting, but she could try to do something, at least. “Ok, look at that light over there,” she said while pointing. She then concentrated, trying to make it flicker and blink. It took a moment, but soon it was flicking much like they all had been doing earlier. As soon as it stopped, she added, “It seems to come easier when I am a bit angry… I have been practicing a lot though! My teacher gave me a light bulb in a small glass box and told me to come back when I can make it pop! I think I am almost there.” She said that last bit, with a wide smile. She was excited; it wouldn’t be long now till she was learning all sorts of things to do with her magic!

Xithian gave a disbelieving scoff. A slight, secretive smirk showed for a moment, "$100 isss just fine." He pardoned himself as he retreated to the back to retrieve the five boxes that Vilyum was purchasing. A few minutes later he returned, carrying the small boxes, tied with a bit of twine. He placed them on the main counter and motioned for the other man to join him as he rung him up.
Caelen's massive smile faltered when Áróra told him that him that she couldn't teach him. It was short-lived, however, as she told him to watch a specific light. He giggled in glee as it flickered. "Das soooooooooo cool!!" he grinned, tail waving about in excitement. "I wisth I could do dat!"

Vilyum approached the counter, at Xithian’s beckoning. As the man finished ringing him up, he casually looked over the boxes. He wasn’t inspecting them out of any doubt that they contained the product; he was merely being busy as the process concluded. He then placed the money on the countertop.
Áróra was disappointed to dishearten Caelen. She wished she could teach him some, but she was still learning the basics and she had no idea if she could even learn technomancy. At least he found joy in her usage of it. She smiled as he giggled in glee. “Well,” she responded, “maybe one day you could learn to do that, or maybe a different type of magic! Is there any other types you would like to learn?”

"Thhhank you for your busssinesss," Xithian smiled as he took the money and pushed the boxes gently towards Vilyum. As the man was picking the bundle up, Xithian walked out from behind the counter. He was going to offer to open the door, if he chose to leave now.
"Imma learn..." he thought for a moment and sqealed, "...ALL da magicks!" Caelen made a big circle with his arms. His response was so full of energy that he literally hopped as he waved his arms about. He grinned from ear-to-ear, his devious grin, and his tail flailed about, miraculously missing all the objects around. He ran in place, giggling to himself. "Imma be da bestest scor-sorce-sorce'er EVA!" He threw his arms out wide and stood still for a moment, breathing heavily, his smile still plastered on his face.

Áróra giggled at Caelen’s statement and replied, “Really? All of the magics?! That would be amazing Caelen! Good luck to you." She couldn't help but think that his excited movements were absolutely adorable. She didn't know how much magic he would learn, but she hoped that she could see it someday.
“Well, thank you for your wares. I think we will be off now.” Vilyum countered as he picked up the boxes. Turning towards Áróra, he said, “Time to go.” He then approached the exit.
“Aww, ok,” she replied, a saddened look on her face. Without warning, she suddenly and effortlessly picked Caelen up and hugged him. “Good bye Caelen! Maybe I will see you again sometime! Maybe then, you can show me some magic!” She giggled at that part and then set him down. Waving, she made her way towards the exit where Vilyum was standing.

"Yes, ALL da magics!" Caelen retorted a little insulted. He knew he could do it, but he didn't think Áróra believed he could. Whatever feelings she managed to hurt, though, didn't last long as they began to leave his father's shop. An odd mixture of sadness and happiness at meeting Áróra but then having to have her leave muddled up Caelen's face. "Bah-bye, Áróra! Pwease come back an' pway!" He waved with both arms as he hopped about, following the two nearly out the open door that his father held.
"Thhhank you for your busssinesss, sssir," Xithian bowed deeply to Vilyum as the two exited.
After they were gone Caelen sighed deeply, already bored. "Papaaaaa..." he whined. Xithian sighed as well, closing the door and strolling over to the little spawn. He picked the boy up and walked back to the counter, resuming their previous stations.
