Moving into the little glen, looking around, treading carefully, her nose almost glued to the ground as she makes her way to a clear spot and stops. Smiling as she stands, dripping a little from the rain, her tail having mostly uncurled, pooling on the ground, her mane too was hanging longer in loose curls, the feather in her hair looking rather limp. But she smiled brightly at him, not seeming to mind that she was soaked and not vain or self absorbed enough to care that she was a little disheveled.
"Laures is a lovely name." Smiling at him, blushing prettily, having managed to stop herself from saying she liked it, after all why would it matter to him if she liked his name or not. Turning her gaze away from him before she starts to stare at him and his wings. Not moving but her eyes wandered over everything in the small area. "Wouldn't it be wonderful to be smaller so you could live here? Its so pretty, I'm afraid to move because I don't want to hurt anything here."
Lowering her eyes to her hooves, still blushing softly though it only showed a little in her coat and in her sparkled pattern. Falling quiet, unable to not hear her mothers reprimand for bothering him. She might have run away from home but she didn't want to be a bother, she had spent so long being in the way that part of her felt bad for having accepted his help, not to mention that she had probably invaded his territory too. What made her feel most guilty is that he probably was only being kind and all she could think was how pretty his wings were, just like the butterflies she had been playing imagine with. But though she had made the connection of appearance there, she didn't know about flutters and so it never dawned on her to make the connection between him and the inset. She had dismissed it as coincidence, possibly something in the local area that caused the similarity? She didn't know and she expected it would be rude to comment on.

Looking around once again, Laures was struck by the beauty of the place. Though it was a fairly small clearing, with a brook bordering the back edge, and a few dainty bushes and small trees, it was not so fragile as it appeared. This place, it was the one spot he had found that could call him back time after time. He considered it something like a home.
It was a serene place and lovely. Noticing the disheveled state Bailey was in and the fact she seemed unaware, he found himself thinking just how beautiful she was. And how easy it would be to fall for her. Then his feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem reared their heads. He was so plain and unremarkable. How could anyone ever like him? He deliberately pushed aside the memories of his first family, that was a fluke and look at what had happened to them. Just when he thought he had found some measure of happiness it had been ripped away.
'Thank you.' He was somewhat embarassed by his name. Sure it was -pretty- but it was also very feminine, and had caused him many issues growing up, at least until he learned to deal with it. There were still some times when those issues cropped up. Like now.
'You don't need to be afraid to move around here, it's not so fragile as it seems.' He did not notice the turmoil Bailey was experiencing. He could not sense her guilt or the memories which she was wrestling with. He did notice her silence, but since he did not know the reason, he didn't wish to disturb her. He let the silence reign, not feeling the need to speak.

Bailey had nothing against silence, still moving carefully, starting to dry slowly as she looked around the small space that made up this odd little clearing. No longer dripping, but her wet hair still hung longer in stretched curls that would spring back when she dried off. Inhaling fragrance from the flowers that were open, but trying to disturb things a little as possible. Finally she smiled at him. "You are lucky to have a home like this, its so beautiful and calming... Thank you for bringing me here and allowing me to see it." Part of her wanted to reassure him of his privacy, she was hopeless with directions and would likely not ever be able to find this place alone. But another part hoped and wished to see this place in the hight of its beauty, to lay here out the way and just soak up the lovely calm feeling it had.
Moving a little closer to him, she looked at his wings. "Are they ok? The rain didn't harm them did it?" Her eyes looking at them carefully never having had much chance to see wings like this so big, able to see the faint sparkle of the coloured dust that coated them. Her gaze shifting to him as a whole, finally looking away shyly, blushing again, figuratively ad literally biting her tongue. It would be so easy to blurt out what her imagination had pushed into her mind but he would just think her a fool for it same as her mother had done. She would just have to quietly think of him as her handsome prince that had rescued her. Though she wasn't sure from what, he had just appeared when she needed help finding a safe haven in the storm.
Still looking away embarrassed at her thoughts she murmurs softly. "Thank you for helping me, I'm hopeless with direction, I'd probably still be wandering in the rain trying to find somewhere out of the storm if not for you." Her lavender eyes lifting to his shyly as she expresses her gratitude to him.

Not really paying much attention to the words Bailey spoke, to caught up in admiring her mussed beauty while trying not to seem like too much of a creep.
'Beautiful.' He whispered softly before tossing his head. 'It's not really my home... more a temporary place I stay when I come this way. I....travel a lot. Not staying in one place that long. I'm something of a ... gypsy, you might say.'
Not used to having others get too close to his wings, especially after the accident he had only recently healed of and the terrible scars it had left behind, he was hard-pressed to stay still and let Bailey look at his wings. But he was loathe to frighten her or seem rude so he tolerated her scrutiny as long as he was able. ' My wings? They're fine. We got out of the damp soon enough there was no harm done.' He fluttered them carefully a few times as if to say, see, they still work.
'It... it was no trouble at all. I'm just glad to be able to help you.' He shifted on his hooves, embarassed by the mare's gratitude, but also warmed by it. He was unused to praise and such. Too often he had been put down or ignored, so this was a welcome change. 'The storm... it doesn't seem like it will be letting up any time soon. You are more than welcome to take shelter here until it passes...'

Moving away, reassured that his wings were fine she left his personal space, though she could have looked at them for a while, they were so pretty, and the colours were stunning. However she had been made a more timid thing, her childish curiosity tempered with fear of her mother, and while he was nothing like her mother she treated everyone like her mother until she knew better. "Thank you... It would be wonderful to stay here till the storm is past, thank you for letting me." Giving him a warm sweet smile, gratitude in her eyes.
Moving well away from him she gave her mane a shake, sprinkling water droplets around her, over the plants and flowers. Her curls coming back more after this. Looking at her tail and picking up what she could, giving it a shake too, scattering more water around her. The curls still loose and damp, but they were better than they had been, though she still had a resemblance to a wilted flower. Having done about all the preening she was going to, and only doing that much because she hated her hair snagging on things when it dragged, especially when wet, it tended to knot up easily. Smiling at him still, finding him handsome, though her first phrasing had been beautiful, she had a feeling he would dislike that, but he was beautiful, however clearly male he was.
Looking away she hid her blush, cooking in a soft voice over some of the flowers, finding one that trailed up one of the walls. “Oh! This is so pretty!!” Smiling round at him, her blush having faded now, looking at him again with a gentle smile. “I wander too… Though usually because I’m lost” Laughing a little, she knew she was hopeless with direction, and why, but even now she couldn’t keep her mind totally in reality, as she looked at him her mind wandered, she had found fantasy her only salvation growing up, and now she seemed to be living her own fairy tale. Her eyes running over him, blushing again, only able to hope that her prince was so handsome when he really did turn up.
Turning and stepping around some flowers, almost like she was dancing around them, her smile once again warm as she looked at him, not able to keep admiration from her eyes, though if she was aware how easy she was to read she would be embarrassed. “Can you fly?” Going a very obvious pink as she blurted out the question. “Sorry! I didn’t ask, I didn’t mean to be rude!” Looking horrified at asking such a simple childish question, stepping closer her expression imploring. “Please forgive me for being nosey.” If he forgave her she would do better, she would disturb him as little as possible.

This place was a sanctuary he had used as refuge many times in the past. It was a special place where he could find the peace and tranquility to soothe his soul after wandering. He had kept it secret for a long time, never once bringing anyone here, having wanted a place for himself. This was the first time he had shown anyone here. And to see the child-like wonder and delight on Bailey's face, Laures knew he made the right decision. There was something about the mare that he connected to without knowing what it was, or how, or why. All he knew was he had never felt like this about anyone before.
He could not help but laugh softly as she admitted her penchant for getting lost. It wasn't a derisive or mocking laughter. No, it was more he was laughing with her. 'I guess I was lucky. If I hadn't been born to the herd I was, and spent my life travelling from place to place, and learning how to recognise where I was and where I had been... as it is I still get lost sometimes. But I find those times to be some of the best. You never know what you're going to see and who you're going to meet.'
He fluttered his wings unconciously, watching as she looked around compsing herself. Though she was lovely enough all disheveled from the rain, she was even moreso as she was naturally, without pretense and artifice. He admired her greatly, there was no doubt there, and if given time he would be in danger of falling for her. But surely someone so lovely and sweet already belonged to someone. Fate would not be so kind as to allow him another chance at happiness. He'd had the chance with Tezza but had squandered it, leaving him alone.
'There is nothing to to be sorry about. Being curious isn't a bad thing.' He shifted his weight from hoof to hoof. 'I can fly. But not at this moment. Not when my wings are wet.'

Bailey nodded, feeling warm and light when he laughed, not feeling like he was mocking her. it was a good feeling. Finally deciding that staying still would keep her from seeming such a flighty twit she found a patch where she could settle without doing harm to anything around her. Her tail draped a little over some flowers, some poking through the curls but otherwise she had kept clear of everything, clearly not wanting to harm the plants. Glancing over at him she looks at his wings again, her expression wistful. "It must be wonderful to be so free, to just catch the wind and dance to the call of the sky... You are very lucky, I have often wished I knew what it was like to fly." Though it was not something she had ever thought to have an answer to, after all she had no real chance to converse with birds, and she had not known anyone else with wings... Well until recently.
Her eyes focusing on him again and smiling, though she had run out of things to say or talk about that didn't seem silly or self absorbed, so she just smiled and rested her head down, making herself focus on the flower in front of her nose so she stopped staring at him, she didn't want to know what he would make of that, she must seem so foolish to him, he was just being kind..

'There is no feeling quite like flying…' he mused softly, but then he remembered Tezza and the baskets. 'Well except one.' He fell silent for a brief moment, honoring their memory in the only way he knew how, that would not be considered rude or out of place here. He tossed his mane. 'It is a wonderful feeling, but there are some drawbacks as well…And really, you shouldn't wish to be anything other than what you are.'
This place, he had always felt comfortable in. A secret place that soothed his soul and the restlessness he felt, but even it had never been enough to make him want to settle down. To make the place his permanent home. But now, in this moment, here with her, it felt like home. Perhaps it was far too soon. Perhaps it wasn't love, but given enough time, if he got the chance to with her more, he knew it could easily grow into love. All he knew, was he hoped he had that time. That chance. That love.
Even his sins had to be atoned for by now, giving him that chance for happiness. For now though. He would live in the moment and cherish the peace and her company.

She tried to listen, she really did, but she was warming up as she dried, and the place was so soothing, and he made her feel safe, and his voice, she could only have good dreams hearing that voice. Vaguely aware she had been half asleep while he talked she yawned a little, mumbling some semi coherent answer. "I don't wish... dreams.... better place.... lonely...." Drifting off to a content sleep among the flowers, unaware of how much of herself those words could reveal, or how he might react to her just falling asleep like that. Though if she was more awake she would have worried about upsetting him by her actions, but her walking all day and trying to find a new home, as well as her inner fretting and fantasizing about the stallion near her, she was tired and so she slept among his flowers and dreamed of a prince that looked like him.
