Shira Phelan sat on the wide window seat at the front of the second floor of her estate, embroidering. This was where she could almost always be found on calmer days when she was not entertaining guests. It was her favorite spot in the building; one of the best places to gaze out at the sprawling, beautiful lands she owned. It was also the best place to watch for approaching carriages or horsemen.

Astrayl's carriage was on its way to the Phelan household with him in it. the purpose of the visit was as usual. Talking to the whisperer there, discussing the needs of their homelands and how each can be of some help. Also for Astrayl to meet with the Wolf clan's apprentice seeing as how he did not have one yet. 'Out of the 30 candidates for apprenticeship not a single one stands out.' He sighed as he started to think of his job again. "Toki, I want to retire soon. Find me an apprentice so I don't have to do these dreadful things anymore." His secretary, Toki, was sitting across from him in the carriage. "Come now Master Astrayl, you have to realize that not a lot of people could take the kind of training regime that you give. Even if you did lower the bar no one could hold a candle to you." As usual no one would even try to say that there is a person strong enough to beat Astrayl. He wanted people to stop overestimating him because of the stupid main family. "Look, I just think it would be easier to make a apprentice do all this..." As soon as he was about to finish a arrow went through his carriage but do to his reaction system he caught it before the tip hit his head. "Bandits again." Astrayls tood up and walked out of the carriage with a frantic Toki following after. "Master please wait, let the men deal with them you are to heavenly for them to look at much less your fighting style." Astrayl looked at him then released his killing intent, a shadow grew over him and took the shape of a demon. "Quiet Toki, I need to let off some steam." With that Astrayl jumped into the battle taking out most of the bandits.
After the small interruption, Astrayl's carriages were back on track and soon as the doors to the wolf clan estate. He was let inside but the servants and was told to wait in the living room until the head of the family came to see him. "I hope she doesn't keep me waiting. I hate being away from home too long."

Shira saw the carriage about five minutes before it entered the courtyard. Watching the two male figures getting out of the carriage, she recognized the Whisperer of the bear clan and his secretary. She had set aside her embroidery and was heading down the hall to the main staircase when one of the maids let her know of the visitors. "The parlor?" Shira asked, and the maid nodded. "Thank you. You can return to your duties." She entered the room in time to hear the other Whisperer's comment. "I never keep anyone waiting, Astrayl. What business has brought you to my estate?"

__________________________________________________________________________________________ ~Marnie~ Marnie burst out the door after her two young cousins, surreptitiously looking around before continuing the chase, so as not to appear too enthusiastic.
She quickly caught up with the toddler of the pair and swung him up and over her shoulder as she looked around for his older sister.
Her intuition said she was about to receive a spanking from a 5 year old who'd circled around from behind, well, intuition and the mad giggles of the toddler.
She spun and grabbed the arm of her most energetic cousin, crouching to bring herself nose to nose with the little girl.
"Back inside Missy, or you'll face the wrath of ..." Marnie paused for dramatic effect as she swung down the little boy. "Your MOtherrrrr~!"
She tickled ribs and steered the two back towards the door, scattering one of the mousers that had come to investigate the slightly ajar opening.
She still had to read over their math primers with them before the adults came back. Plus clean up the mess baking cookies had made. Stopping on the step to reach back outside for the door knob Marnie looked up at the bright blue sky and the white fluffy clouds scudding by. They fairly raced past pushed on by the strong breeze.
Her auburn hair blew in front of her eyes for a moment but pulling the door shut blocked the wind and she soon faced the demons clear eyed again.

Astrayl looked at the whisperer that walked inside. He smiled a little at her comment while still trying to hold back most of his emotions, and even that was a little amount. Any emotion he once had his family beat out of him through the non-stop training and exercises. "Well it is good to see you too Shira. To answer your question I am here for the usual matters. I am here to discuss trade between our people along with whatever else we might be needing. I heard that the Dragon's might have to send their apprentice whisperer." Going through all this was a pain staking process but it was needed. His people required new materials every now and then that only the wolf's people can provide. Vice-versa, the wolves needed new workers in terms of construction. As for the dragons, they just needed new servants every once in awhile or guards. The item they provided was usually money.
"Apparently it has been decided that we hold the meeting here. As to why I do not know." He walked past her towards the estates wide open back yard. "Well while I am here for the moment why don't we sit back here and enjoy the view." He smiled at her as he sat down on a bench.

(Hint hint eh? ^.^) __________________________________________________________________________________________ ~Marnie~ Marnie slipped her hair over her shoulder and sat the kids down at the table to start while she washed bowls and baking trays.
Math started early for Drace members. Not even the very young escaped.
As she put the tools away Marnie bundled up the cookies in a cloth bag and placed an extra in front of each of her cousins. Hard work deserved recognition, at least in her mind.
The two eagerly munched away, the cinnamon from the cookies a familiar flavor. The oldest kept working steadfastly as she ate. Both children quickly shoved the remainder of the cookies into their mouths as they heard the carriages pull up.
"Funs over munchkies, " Marnie said in a stage whisper, before leaning over her youngest cousin and pointing at his paper. "Try and make your four a little prettier for mom okay Bryceland? Mommy is known for how neatly she writes, she'd like to see you do well too."
Most kids would get up to go greet their parents after a separation, but the Drace family didn't hold the same beliefs. It would be surprising in fact if any of the kids knew this was what other kids did habitually.
Marnie was wondering at what was taking so long, usually her parents were inside within a few minutes.
