As soon as Faleen left, Seth got busy. It wasn't unusual for the executive to hole himself away when he was focused on a project. His determination overriding his basic needs until he absolutely had to attend to them. Thus, Seth was rarely seen for the next few days. And when he was, the man was clearly agitated and in a bad mood.
However, it was roughly a week after he had taken the G-Ball from Faleen that there was vehement cursing coming from his office.

Like most Tech's it had been a week of very little sleep, and long hours, (usually voluntary) in the labs. Faleen had been working on more blueprints and specs for the mecha that were being constructed in the labs. She wasn't depriving herself of hands on construction of the machines either.
It certainly helped to lift her spirits after the whole ordeal of Zero Point Energy... well, it helped her not think about it so much anyway.
The dark blond Agent had finished some new reports for the Executive, and it was the day she would be submitting them into the supervisor along with some of the new plans for the robotics division. But at the moment she was standing outside his door, eyebrows arched as she heard quite the angry storm erupting from inside the office...
She supposed this meant nothing promising about the G-Ball...
But... these had to be submitted... before nine... it was the requirement. So, she reached up, and knocked on the door.

When the knock came, there was a brief moment of silence before movement could be heard inside. Some banging around and muttered cursing before a voice yelled from the other side.
"COME IN!"

Eyebrows arched, eyes searching the surface of the door as she heard the movement from within, still. she stood, and waited for a command she knew was going to come.
And it did, and it didn't sound anymore pleasant than the cursing that it had followed. She followed his order, reaching a gloved hand forward to take the door knob, and open the door, stepping into the office. "Sir... I have the weeks reports..."

When Faleen entered the room, she would find herself fixed with Seth's frustrated glare. The man standing behind his desk, bent over with his palms flat against its surface. Piece of the G-Ball were scattered about atop of it also.
"You better have some good news," he practically snarled, coming from around the desk to reach out and snatch the reports from her. He was in no mood for bad news.
The smell of coffee was evident in the room and on the man himself, with dark circles under his eyes, indicating Seth hadn't slept much recently. His hair, although clean, was a tousled mess. He'd spent a good portion of his working day, and his nights, trying to figure out that damn ball.

She took this as an indication that things were not going to well at all, still, other than a slight arching of her eyebrows she didn't react at his glare.
Fingers opened when he came around and the file was snatched from her, she returned her hands to behind her back, looking up at the significantly taller superior. "Updates of the progress of the mecha prototype in station four... as well as unpdated plans for the TR-MS-Solo unit. There is also a project pending approval to optimize functionality on the marine tech." She replied, summarizing what was in the file in a quick, professional manner.
Her gaze however, did drift over to the once again disassembled G-Ball on the executive's desk. There it lingered for a moment, blinking softly a couple of times.
It was still a symbol of their failure, or her failure. But it had still been one of her projects. She could guess that her results were correct. if the way Seth looked and acted was any indication, and she suspected it was.
Looking back over at Seth, opening her mouth a little before she spoke again "... Sir?"

Seth quickly thumbed through the contents of the documents and grunted at the idea that he would have to comb through them. However, Faleen's inquiry drew his attention back up towards her.
"What?" he asked gruffly, while taking a moment to glance towards the G-Ball as well. She had been the one to bring it to him after all.
"I don't want to talk about it. In fact, I'd rather you get that damn thing out of my sight!" In other words, he hadn't been able to make any progress with it either. It was just as much of an enigma to him as it had been to everyone else that had poured over it.

Her gaze didn't leave him, but it only took a second for her to respond, nodding gently with a "I understand Sir." The comment, probably had more meaning that what could initially be interpreted.
She had hoped, really hoped that Seth would be able to find something, despite having complete confidence in her own abilities, and not doubting the abilities of the lead programer, Hayes. She didn't want to have to see this project go down as a failure, she would rather she look like an idiot again in front of Seth than let this project fail for Team Rocket.
She walked over to the desk, looking around for the case that she had brought it in, and being diligent about gathering every piece that was set on the Executive's work aria. she would have to put it back together later in the labs.

As Faleen gathered up the pieces, Seth huffed and turned his back to it. He didn't even want to look at the thing anymore, he was so sick of it. So he didn't, and instead read through the documents that Faleen had brought him in the mean time.
Quietly reading, Seth grunted as he came across something in particular. It was a list of the current inventory of robotic parts and supplies. "I see I need to order some more relay boards and power converters," he said with a sigh. That meant dealing with Kaiba Corp, and Seth really didn't care for that one bit. But it was a nessecary evil unfortunately.
Whether he was talking to himself or to Faleen wasn't entirely clear. He kept his back to her.

She glanced up from her progress when most of the parts were placed carefully in the case, looking over to Seth when his voice broke the silence of the office. "One of the boards arrived to us defective, It can probably be repaired... with time, if you prefer Sir."
She clicked the case shut, bending down to lift it into her arms, supporting the bottom of it while it rested over her chest. "Am I to put the G-ball in lock up storage for now sir?" She asked, taking a step back to indicate that she was finished up here. "... Though, if you have time to review. I put in a request to finish what we can of this project." It was still only three pokemon, nothing compared to the G-ball, but still... She felt it was worth looking into. It was still a feat of engineering and Tech.... in its own right.

There was a disapproving grunt to this, although he didn't make immediately apparent which part he approved of.
"How much time are we talking about?" Seth replied to her first question. Time was precious around here, and he didn't want his staff to be lollygagging around with a defective board when they could just send it back and get a better one.
The question about the G-ball though drew a definitive frown as he turned to face Faleen now that the contraption was out of his sight. Although he didn't really care to talk about it either, as he had mentioned earlier. "That thing is a waste of our time. What point is there in creating a ball that is significantly inferior? Besides... the whole idea of a ball that can contain several Pokemon is a ludicrous extravagance that only people with too much time on their hands need to worry about. If you want to mess with it on your free time, that's fine. But I expect priorities to be maintained. This project is officially downgraded on the list." Seth's raised irritated tone finally tapered off in a huff. "Put the damn thing in storage."

"I would estimate about six hours at the most if there are no further complications." She explained, having clearly looked into it before she brought it up with Seth, having the answers ready for him.
To say that she wasn't disappointed would be a lie, and it probably showed a little in her features when she was told the project was going to be dropped. She understood of course, there was a lot to do, and while she wanted to do what she could to learn about this kind of tech, it wasn't what was most important right now. Seth was right.
For her own curiosity, she was certainly going to be working on the project on her own time. building things is what she did for fun anyway, and as long a she had permission. "Your right Sir, I will see that the project is put to rest." Maybe someday they can return to it.
Her head bowed slightly, hitching the case up again before she turned to start out of the office. On the bright side, there WERE a bunch of other projects just waiting, and Faleen was very excited about several of them. If one of those took its place, she would be happy.
