Nightcrawler straitened up and looked away embarrassed.
"Sorry, I was staring wasn't I?"
Kurt kept his gaze on the ground away from Robin hoping that he wasn't offended by him. Most people were, for him being a mutant and all. "I feel like such an moron. He probably thinks I'm weird."
Kai reached forward and tugged on the pipes a little to see if she could get a grip on them. She let go her hand laying in front of the pipes.
"Robin what do you think?"

Oracle's voice crackled through the comm, "If you can remove the pipes, do it. Just be careful, Red Cardinal."

Tim ruffled at his dark hair. Maybe something was on his back? He ducked down to look at the pipes again after Oracle's transmission.
"I say go for it."

"Great that's just perfect" She thought to herself inspecting th epipes. They would be easy to pull up. She reached over with both hands. First Kai made the pipes intangible then she began pulling them up through the floor and the box. The first one she pulled was nearly 4 ft in length, it was just a section. It took her only a couple minutes to quickly and quietly pull 4 metal pipes of about 4 ft to 3 ft long out of the top. She set them all side by side on the roof next to kurt.
"I don't want to be paranoid, well we kinda need to be but... kurt could you teleport these away from here and meet back here?"
"Of course."
He picked them up carefully as to not make them clink against each other. With a bamph he was gone, teleporting them about a mile away and then back.
"Nice."
She turned and only a moment had passed before he was back
"Oracle the wires are exposed below the box. Robin and I will get to work on them so if you have any precautions now would be the time."

Oracle voice responded, "Follow the pairs that I sent to you. Just leave the red and blue for last, otherwise that will set off a different alarm."

"Got it."
Tim heaved from his crouching position onto his stomach, at the same time reaching for a pocket on his belt. He pulled out two devices: a tiny one that when clicked shot a beam of light, small enough as not to be noticed from a distance, but bright enough to work with... and another to work on the wires. Tim inched closer to the wiring under the control box and glanced to Kai.

Kai looked away from him quickly pulling up her communicator screen with the instructions for how to deactivate the security. Her tiny screen lit up as she set it in front of them under the box slightly so as to hide the light. She slide back a little to give Robin some room to work and left her communicator there for reference.
"All yours Robin..."
She pulled herself up from her position getting on her knees and kneeling over. She took a big breath, letting out she brushed her bangs back behind her ears with her gloved hands. "This is the easy part..." She thought, almost feeling a small amount of anxiety. She pulled on her gloves to tighten them slightly and leaned back looking at Nightcrawler who had made it a point to not look at them in case he were caught staring.
"It's okay Kurt. It's not everyday that you see a boy wonder in colorful spandex and Kevlar."
Kai said, trying to lighten the mood a little before the actual mission starts.
Kurt looked up and smiled a little.
"Thanks Kai. I think I might have seen a comic book character that reminds me of him. Besides, he might have thought it rude to stare."
"He doesn't mind. Tim likes attention, he thinks he's a stud just like Nightwing."
Kai felt was purposefully trying to get Tim involved, but she couldn't help it. If he told her to stop she would, especially if it helped him concentrate better. She peeked back at him waiting for Robin to defend himself.

Oracle's voice chirped in Robin' ear, "Bring up a video feed for me, Robin. If I notice anything, you'll be the first to know. Likewise, if you need to show me anything, give me a heads up."

"Can do."
Robin quickly set up a feed for Babs, at the same time looking back at Kai with a mischevious look. Frankly RC's teasing was bringing out a sibling-like competitive side to him, one he could only slightly compare to his bond with Richard. Odd.
"Not afraid to admit it either."
He turned back to the wires in front of him and checked to see if the feed was functioning properly.

"Who's Nightwing may I ask?"
Kurt asked almost half afraid she would reply "No".
"He's a good friend he's been like an older brother to Tim and I."
She sighed and looked over to Robin. Kai looked back over to Nightcrawler, giving him her attention again.
"The first time I met Nightwing was when we thought Robin was dead. Oracle was shocked and became upset thinking it was her fault. Batman went on his own while I worked with Nightwing to find Robin. We found one of his R shurikens in Killer Croc's lair."
"Was the Tim of your verse okay?"
"Yea, he can handle himself he just worried us a lot and he was hurt pretty badly. The Joker took credit for ending Tim's life and Nightwing nearly killed the clown."
"And this is a comic."
"Huh? Um... this stuff actually happened..."
"I was a big fan of The Batman comics."
Kai held both of her hands out almost surprised. With one swoop she buried her face in the palm of her hands in embarrassment. "Batman comics... How wrong could they be, or how right..."
"You can't be serious?"
She mumbled quietly looking through her fingers at Nightcrawler.

After a moment of Kurt and Kai talking, there was a supressed muffle under the bottom of the metal box. This was Tim, trying his hardest not to jolt his head UP and hit his head on that metal. He took a moment to compose himself before he crawled a little from his work, just for a moment. No way was he going to do his job to the best of his ability without asking about this.
"What now about Batman comics?"

"It's Batman and Robin... I can show you when we get back to the institute. I also have Superman, Green lantern, and Flash Comics."
Kurt said, his tail began to wag a bit. He leaned forward smiling a little, feeling "Cool" around Robin and Red Cardinal. He almost felt as though he had been in the presence of a celebrity for a moment after realizing the similarities between this Robin and the one from his comics.
"That's just not fair..."
She crossed her arms, still in her crouching position. She looked at Robin quickly almost in shock that such a thing would exist. Kai then glanced at the wires under the box that were still not cut...

Tim stared for just a moment longer before he shook his head and turned back to the wires. There, he asked his question... they could talk more about that later.
