Lucivar had not forgotten their last fight and knew that the yellow male was much in favour of using faints in his attack. So when the other male launched forwards, Lucivar stayed in place, weight up on the toes of his paws rarher than automatically moving into a defense. At the very last second, when the other crouched and went for his legs, Lucivar was ready and sprang forwards, jumping the limb that had shot out to trip him and aimed his own claws at the other male's front.

Had Eusi been less of a fighter, he would have fallen for the rather brawler tactic, the straight forward strike this Pride seemed to favor. The golden youth was quick and agile and as the Reaver jumped over his feint, he flipped back, landing on his front paws and then his back ones, well out of the other male's claw and teeth.
He didn't give the other a moment to recover, but instead used the momentum of his movement to spring him back forward into the inside of the Reaver's chest, attack with two swift slashes, one to his chest ruff and one to the tender skin between muzzle and eye.

He didn't have time to dodge as the other lion suddenly sprung forwards, his own momentum was too swift for him to get out the way. Instead, the only thing he could do was wrench his head round, catching the male's swipe on the muscular part of his neck rather than across his face. But the sharp movement pulled the old wound along his side and sent pain rippling down his body and he felt claws tear across his chest.
Springing back he moved till there were several strides between them and only then did he look down at the sluggish drip of blood from his chest. The pain in his side flared with every movement and he knew he could no longer fight successfully until he rested. This was a challenge, not a war, and he felt the other male had more than proved his worthiness to join the stormborn pride. Looking back at the stranger he smiled and dipped his head into a slightly stiff bow. "Well done, stranger. I call this Challenge a draw."
Straightening, he smiled at the other male, pleased the yellow rogue would be joining them.

Eusi danced away when he felt his opponent retreat, his own sides heaving, and his weight unbalanced as he had to shift to favor his wounded back leg. He would be hard pressed to keep up the brutal pace of this fight should the young male wish to continue, though he knew he would push as far as his body would let him, his desire to join the cliff born Pride was great.
At the Reaver's words, he relaxed, and gave the odd half bow of his shoulders and head. From what he understood, he only needed to draw with his opponent in order to gain admittance to them. Perhaps tonight he might be laying his head in a real den, rather than here among the tide and sea birds.
" Thankful am I for opponent such as you. Skilled you are."

Lucivar saw how the other moved and felt he had called the fight correctly. There was no reason to beat each other to pieces, for the rogue needed only to prove he was as good as the pride lion he was fighting. Well.. the yellow make had certainly done that and Lucivar was pleased to have been his Challenger not only once, but twice. The other certainly learned fast and was improving by the day.
Chuckling at the comment he found himself almost blushing and had to sternly tell himself off in his head. After training for so long and pushing himself to exhaustion almost daily, to have a rogue recognize his hard work was strange and oddly weakening. Shaking his head he grinned, feeling a kind of kinship to this unusual male. "As am I, you are more than worthy of the pride. What is your name, Brother?"

Eusi felt the same pull, the call of a brother in arms, where joy came from a well placed strike, or the mastering of one's own mind. He let a pleased look come into his amber eyes at the other's welcoming smile.
" Eusi'chosi called am I, from Tianxia in the East."

The yellow male's manner of talking was hard enough for Lucivar to follow even though the other had spoken so little. So when he said his name, Lucivar could only blink in perplexed confusion. The syntax and emphasis on the letters making absolutely no sense to him, for the male's language was too different from his own.
"I don't know this place you speak of, but they lost a great warrior this day." Turning he glanced back over his shoulder and motioned for the yellow lion to join him so they could enter the pride together. "Mind if I call you Erlendr?"

Eusi smiled, the light from it shining in his eyes as he shrugged with deceptive mildness, " Help it I can not, if speak you can't. Elender fine is."
He fell into step beside the young Reaver, pleased to be leaving the sandy shore and his makeshift camp, and glad to have finally found some place that seemed as if he could make a home for himself with his own four paws, sweat and blood.

Lucivar chuckled, the sound warm and easy. "Well.. Elender it is for I can't say the word you gave me. It means 'Outlander'." Shaking his head he grinned at the bright yellow male before bumping his shoulder into the other's lightly. "Once we have both rested, I'd like to spar with you... you have some very interesting moves." Turning onto the path that led the easy way back up the rugged cliff to the pride's main area, Lucivar almost felt as if he had known this male for a lot longer than just a few days.

Esui nodded, quit happy with his new name, it fit. He'd come to find a new life, to forget the past left behind him, to forget much of his troubled cubhood. Erlender....it was a good name. Outlander....
" Honor would I be to teach and to learn. Students of each other, brothers would we make." He followed behind him, " Name have you? or name must I give?" His tone held a wicked sense of humor behind it, even if his way of speaking was odd to the other lion's ears.

Pausing for Erlendr to catch up, Lucivar chuckled in wry amusement, matching the yellow male's grin with his own. "It is Lucivar.. and I very much look forward to learning and teaching with you, Brother." His own grin turned wicked as he resumed walking, pale eyes sparkling with amusement and happiness. Something told him Erlendr would make an excellent reaver and he very much looked forward to showing the joys of the stormborn ways to its newest member.
