My only crit is this:
If Edel had a tail, and Vero asked to tuck it in its shorts for safety purposes, what would happen? More importantly, would it freeze it to death?
I think clearly once these two are in the school she needs to give him some lessons in courtesy. And possibly manners. Lots of manners.

It depends if he has adapted to freezing conditions in the nether regions. A cold butt would result most likely. But for most part, insects die from the cold. So it'll probably not be a good idea. BAH, manners. XD Those sessions would be full of awkward questions I suspect. Ahhhlasjfa thank you! Have more Edel anyway:
