********* smiled inwardly as the girl's hand awkwardly seemed to seek the tail that the manx did not have. It was actually a very common mistake many made when petting this particular cat. No harm done in all honesty, but it didn't make it any less amusing.
To answer the girl's earlier question, ********* simply stated "The senshi go where they are needed. And now, Earth needs you. You said it yourself... the ones claiming to protect it are not doing that at all, correct?"
Though Asclepius touched upon a more sensitive subject, the small cat did not seem to dodge the question at all. Her voice still remained pleasant and conversation. Yet, somewhere hidden in her words was an underlying sincerity that almost sounded sad.
"I don't know in all honesty. I don't remember much before waking up here in Destiny City." The cat knew nothing of her past, and somehow she was able to move along with her life as if nothing was wrong. It was not her job to worry about her own past. Her job was to look to the future.

The girl nodded, acceptance seeming to finally sink in, though that did not mean that Asclepius was happy about all of it. "I just wonder how long Earth will need us, then. All the other bodies on my 'home' asteroid have mostly turned to dust." Asclepius chewed her lip. "I just hope it won't be that long for me, you know?"
She heard ********* response regarding the cat's birth place and nodded again; it made sense to her that the talking cat's origins would be mysterious, though, and so she seemed content with her guardian not knowing.
"Well." The Senshi of Medicine started to stand, lifting the cat in her arms so that ********* would not fall, but could still hop down to the playground mulch if she wanted. "I can at least keep going trying to help the people here," she conceded. "Even if I am sort of a useless senshi, I can still work at being a doctor when I'm not in uniform."
She focused on the cat, tired and apologetic sadness on her features. "I'm sorry I got upset," Asclepius said. "In the past, I never gave up. I shouldn't give up now, even if things are different. I'll do what I can to try to make you proud, and keep people here safe from the planet's supposed guardians."

Oh, they were getting up from the swing now? When the senshi moved and lifted her up into her arms, ********* hind legs squirmed for a moment to get her feet perched upon something so they weren't dangling about. With a kind laugh, the feline couldn't help but say "No need for apologies, Asclepius! And pardon me for sounding cheesy, but I'm already proud of you!" She gave a big grin to the senshi.

A stubborn frown started to distort Asclepius' face again, making the bits of tears in the corners of her eyes from earlier sparkle briefly. She could protest again, and be mercilessly hard on herself under the guise of modesty, but ... it was really what the Senshi of Medicine needed to hear.
Closing her eyes momentarily, she hugged the cat gently, resting her cheek against ********* head for a second, then leaned down to set her gently down on her paws.
"Thank you, *********>
