"I have to throw all of them?" She asked looking back. She wasn't sure she would be as good at this game as the last. Killing she could do, throwing balls... well for her dogs yes but not like this.

She picked up two at once and threw them pretty much together. She had in a way given up on this game already so she didn't really care what score she was going to get. After all Corey would beat her regardless.

"I'm not sure this is the kind of game for me..."

She picked up another ball and looked at it. Nope she wasn't sure she liked it so she gave it to Corey.

"Go on get my points up for me!"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:36 am

She held the balls like they were diseased or something. Inspecting them before she tossed them. One actually rolled, popping up to hit the 10 point ring. The other faltered, dipping into the edges that ate up the ball without any points.

Okay, this one was obviously not her cup of tea. He accepted the ball with a bit of a laugh and proceeded to throw the remaining two. One hit 25 and the other ringed the 50 before plunking in finally. As soon as the game was over the score blinked and the machine began to spew out a stream of tickets near the coin slot.

"So I'll take it actiony stuff is more up your alley." He tapped his cheek lightly with a finger as they waited for the tickets to quit. "What about pretending to dance or play instruments? Those can be fun if you're feeling energetic."

"There are plenty of other shooting games if it turns out that's your favorite though. You can shoot nazis... zombies.. street punks.. other miltaries.. dinosaurs.. aliens... It goes on and on."

"And then of course fighting games too. There are a ton of games that let you just kick and punch the crap out of everything."

So which was it? He grinned, giving her a playful poke to the arm. "So do you just like excitement or do you have a violent streak hiding under that cute little facade"

Louisa watched him with a slight hint on envy before she reminded herself that he basically lived here. Of course he was going to be better then her but it seemed a streak of competitiveness was coming out. Something she hadn't really encountered before.

"Fighting games? What exactly do you hit?" There was a reason she was going for them, if there was a way she could build herself up physically as a normal girl then surely it would help when she was patrolling at night? It seemed like a plan to her.

"Then maybe you can see just how violent I can get?" She laughed as she spoke seeming to be rather enjoying herself. She found it odd that she was enjoying herself so much but she didn't mind. It had been a while since she found something she really enjoyed and someone to actually share it with. Corey was her new best friend, for the day at least.

"Well.. usually buttons.." He stated, watching her a little more curiously. He had been kinda teasing her, but perhaps he had stumbled across something by accident. Perhaps she was one tough chicadee. He had been talking about side scrollers and Mortal Kombat style fighting games when he offered.. but maybe she wanted something a little more hands on.

"But I do have two boxing games if you really want hands on." He turned, eyes searching for the games. He didn't play them very often, nor where they too particularlly popular. Located the closest he pointed. "That one you just hit the punching bag as hard as you can and you get a score based on the strength"

"The other one you don't actually hit anything, but you do throw punches and block and the game registers your movements while you fight an opponent."

His eyes lit up suddenly in realization. "Or laser tag! That ones all about strategy, agility, and aim"

Louisa listened, paying attention to what was being said, it didn't mean she actually understood what he was talking about but then these games seemed simple... well hitting a punch bag did the other one not so much but neither seemed overly appealing.

"Laser tag?" She had head of that one before... someone had mentioned it to her or had she played it? She couldn't remember.

"We could try that one! I don't think I have played it though, what do you do? Shoot a screen again?" Yes Louisa really was the naive one, she really didn't know what laser tag was. At least she was about to find a game she really would enjoy!
PostPosted: Mon Jun 20, 2011 7:13 am

Laser tag had been Corey's niche in his younger days. Before he'd been old enough to own the place he'd nonetheless spent most of his time in arcades.. and laser tag took up a large amount of the time he spent there. He had been a tournament placer.. a money winner.. sometimes he really missed not getting to play it as often anymore.

Regardless of the fact that he KNEW there was no reason for her to know about it, he nonetheless pressed the heel of his palm against his forehead at the question. But the laugh that sounded was good natured and forgiving.

"No no. It's much more interactive"

"You wear a vest with lights on it, and carry a special gun. And then you 'run' around a dark maze trying to shoot others while avoiding getting shot yourself. You can play sudden death were you get knocked out after a certain amount of hits or just play for whoever has the most points after 18 minutes."

"And we can play just the two of us?" It sounded like a game for lots of people but she was up for playing the two of them. So she would have to wear a vest and carry a gun and shoot him? It sounded simple enough!

"Okay I like the idea of this!" She smiled more then happy to run around shooting him. She was even looking forward to it! She looked around and couldn't see any dark mazes though.

"Where is it?" She looked around again to make sure she hadn't missed anything but nope they were all various machines and things. She couldn't see anything about any dark mazes but then maybe she just wasn't looking hard enough? Well she was sure that Corey would lead the way! Unluckily for Corey she was already aiming to see a lot more of him! It seemed he was successfully taking someone over to the dark side of gaming...

"Well.... it's much more fun with more people" He confirmed.

"The arena is pretty large so with the two of us we might spend quite a bit of time just trying to find each other. Especially if you decide to snipe instead of actively walk around."

"But I'm sure I could fanagle a solo game for the two of us if you'd prefer to try it out like that first." He winked. Of course he could fanagle whatever he wanted. As long as their weren't games and tickets already in que and waiting.

"Where?" He laughed a little again, pointing up to the screen near the front counter, which was showing snippets of a fairly dark room. "We go through a door over there to get to the gun room and then the mazes. The arcade is split pretty evenly down the middle. Two stories of games on this side.. and on the other side of that wall over there the same amount of space for laser tag"

"Though of course the two stories has been converted into a three floor arena. With towers and stuff to hide up in and lots of twisting mazes up and down."

This sounded like so much fun! Louisa listened to everything Corey said and nodded and agreed when he mentioned how to play and the size of the arena. She looked at the screen and smiled, yes this was like the best day ever!

"I would love to!" She smiled happily it would be great fun to play just the two of them, that way she could get use to the arena and kick his a**. Being a sniper also sounded fun as she probably wouldn't have thought about that otherwise.

"Wow you must have like the best job ever! Do you do anything else other then show girls how to play the games?" She was curious though still she was enjoying the idea of being here and as she graduated soon and started DCU maybe she could spend more time here or get a part time job? Wouldn't be a bad idea, she could do with her own money and stuff. She would think about it. Corey seemed like such a nice guy though!

Come on, come on, he motioned with sweeping motions, heading up towards the concession stand when she expressed an interest in the idea. And quickly he started tapping away at the computer screen right next to the register. The current game running still had five minutes left on it, but as of yet no tickets had been bought for the next game. Good thing she'd come at a fairly quiet time.

He closed out the next game so that no tickets could be bought and hoped none of his employees would notice. Surely he'd get hell for it considering he'd never let them do the same thing.

After everything was all set up, he rested his arms on the countertop waiting, laughing at the question that arose. "Oh man. I TOTALLY have the best job ever. No doubt at all. I wouldn't trade it for anything.. not even a million dollars!" Truthfully! As money pinching as Corey was it was all for this place. He'd rather be poor and have his arcade then a millionaire without it.

Oh what did she think he was, a leech? He grinned a little, musing softly. "I do all sorts of things around here. Stock the games with tickets, collect the change, fix machines when they aren't too far gone, play janitor, make and serve food. You name it, I probably do it."

"Not necessarily in that order though" He added suddenly as he realized he'd said making food RIGHT after janitor work. Yeahh.. gross.

Louisa followed him happily and watched him doing whatever he was doing on the computer. She listened to him talk about his job and couldn't help but smile. It was nice to listen to someone talk about their job especially when they seemed to enjoy it so much!

"Fair enough I couldn't help but wonder after all it seems you have such an easy job!" She smiled and then looked at the computer again, "We gonna go play then?" She looked a little more excited about that - she wanted to go play and mess about and shoot him!

He grinned a little at her words. It was true, if you enjoyed your work no matter what you had to do it came off as easy. Pleasant.

"There are still a few minutes left on the current game but we can use that time to suit you up" He motioned towards the door beside the counter, beckoning for her to follow as he slipped in through it.

Inside the room was mostly dark, a black light offered most of the light, illuminating images painted and splashed against the walls of the briefing room. Lined along one edge vests in bright glowing blue, yellow, and red blinked cheerfully.

Once she was settled in he began to run through the rules and explainations. "Alright.. no running, no rough housing, no climbing on the decorations, no cheating by trying to cover up your vest and gun lights"

Pulling one of the blue vests he yanked it over his head and on, showing her the gun. "Vest goes on like this, with lights both in the front and back. To fire the guns you must have both hands on it. On on the the trigger and one on this sensor up near the front. It's not too hard, it's where your hand fits most comfortably supporting the weight of the front of the gun anyway."

"When someone gets hit their lights will start to flash and they'll be unable to shoot for 30 seconds. You also can't be shot while you're recovering though so it's a good time to run and hide. If you hear rapid beeping look around for little domes on the ceiling and wall. If you shot them before they count down you get extra points, if you don't though it'll shot you and you'll lose some points"

In the other room a recorded voice could be heard calling the end of the game. "You ready?" He piped cheerfully, holding his gun up to his chest.

Entering the room was an experience in it's self. She hadn't expected anything like this it was in a way really awesome. She looked around before he started talking and then she turned to face him. She watched as he put the vest on and listened as he explained everything. Smiling and nodding she turned and picked up a vest with the yellow lights and tried to put it on.

"Ah I think I'm stuck..." How she had got stuck she wasn't so sure but it had got stuck. Probably because of one of the clips was still done up but either way she stood there looking rather amusing with her arms in odd positions as she really had got herself stuck.

"Could you give me a hand?" She looked rather sheepish as she asked. How typical! She would have to go and do something stupid like that now wouldn't she? She rolled her eyes at herself and waited for some help. She really was looking forward to playing this game!

It was a good thing it was so dark in the room, because for a laser tag pro like him it was impossible to keep from smirking a little at her folly. Stuck!? How did someone even get stuck?

"Sure sure" He mused as he moved in close, letting the gun fall to dangle from it's cord. He certainly had no pervy intentions as his hands shifted down her sides, following along her shirt and the vest until he found the still snagged clip and undid it. But that didn't mean that she might feel completely comfortable with just how handsy he ended up being. Corey had never really had a grasp on personal space, which was probably why he patted at the vest and her a little longer after he fixed it just to make sure all the clips were properly secured.

"There we go, all buckled in for safety" He teased when he was done, grabbing his gun and pausing to make sure she placed her hands on hers in the proper places.

"I'm only going to give you a few seconds of a headstart so you better get going."

She did find it slightly weird having him so close to begin with but she soon relaxed when she noticed he seemed to be doing safety checks on her and it just made her giggle.

"Am I going to get back out though?" She had to ask! He had put her in pretty well and lets face it Louisa could get herself in some really stupid places at times.

"A few seconds? That's hardly long enough!" She teased a little and ran in, stopping to look around and be in awe before running off again. She needed to find a hiding place so she could shoot him. He was going to win that much was obvious but she had to try right?

She found something to hide behind and checking that the lights weren't reflecting off anything she crouched and listened hoping she would shoot him before he noticed her!
