There was something about the way she was looking at him. It almost seemed as if her eyes were upon him in an admirable manner. It was not as if he had done anything all that amazing or spoken of anything overly out of the ordinary. Still, he would continue to humor her.

"I have been known to compete in the past, but even in competing, it was merely for fun. I have never been as truly talented as others I have met." For a moment, he could not help but remember Miriam Jacobs, who had been at Crystal Academy. He could only imagine she had finished up her education and moved on, since this past year he had not seen her at the Hillworth-Crystal fencing match. If there was someone he could admire in the sport, it was her.

A slightly wider smile found its way to his lips as he remembered that truly extraordinary young lady. "However, Mother would say I am being overly modest at the moment."

In a polite fashion, he then proceeded to moving the conversation to being less focused on himself and more upon the young lady keeping him company. "Might I ask if you do any other extracurricular activities? Do you participate in any sports?"

He nodded to the girl to acknowledge he had heard the choice of "sport."

"Ah, ballroom dancing is a rather lovely choice for an extracurricular. Mother had insisted I take lessons when I was ten years old to learn the basics for ballroom dancing. She wanted to make certain I did not embarrass myself in any social situations when I became an adolescent." It also probably had something to do with the fact that he was occasionally expected to escort his Mother to her own formal events when Father was unable to attend.

"I must confess, ballet is not suited for me, but I think it is partially because of the way the young women abuse their own feet." It baffled him that any young lady would make their feet look as absolutely disgusting in the name of dancing in a dainty manner.

"I know there is a saying how one must sacrifice for beauty, but I do not think that sort of sacrifice was quite what was implied by that saying."

The criticisms about the social graces of their peers came across as not only an insult to the peers, but as to their parents as well. It wasn't that Howl disagreed with her (in fact, he quite thoroughly agreed), however, he did have to put things into perspective. "Alas, there is no law in effect that every parent needs to go through with a parenting class with a passing grade." It didn't take much to become a parent in all honesty. However, whether it was planned or not was a whole different matter.

"I suspect there will always be a wide selection of varied individuals when it comes to manners. Considering how much emphasis there is by the media upon sex, alcohol, and drugs, I would not be surprised if all social graces were eventually stamped out for 'having a good time.'"

He nodded his head as she stated what he felt was plain obvious. Ballerinas were not the pictures of health. It did not need much more commentary from him in all honesty.

Since Miss Namid most likely had things to get back to, the teal haired fellow figured now might be a good time for a departure. "I must thank you, Miss Namid, for humoring a young man and keeping him company for a short while." With that, he smiled and moved to stand himself up in one smooth motion.

"Well, I am quite glad I could brighten up your day a little, Miss Namid." With a charming sort of smile, he extended his hand much like before. If anything, at least the young lady knew what he'd most likely do next.
