Clara Risna

-----------------------------------------

If Ziaram just looked a little up the trees, he would have noticed Clara. The myrmidon was set out of the trance she was in when she heard him. She started looking around for the owner of the voice.

"Hello?" She asked,"Is anyone looking for a sparring partner?" Clara then noticed a guy with short black hair. "Hey! You!" She yelled, "Did you ask for a sparring partner?"

"I cannot bear to watch others come to harm...

Lena had only just recently heard the news of tensions over some distant lands. Though she had proved capable with various tomes and staffs, Julian insisted she not come. This did not bode well with the young bishop so she set off to Learania. It had been so long since she was able to feel like she was helping many people so Lena's coming was especially important to her.

Helping people had proved much more difficult than she previously assumed, though. Many solders were stubborn and could not see the need for rest easily.

"You need your rest! There is no reason you should be going out to battle with a wound like that!" Lena called out to one particular solder. Since the area was in relative peace with few deeply wounded solders needing her at the moment, she decided to follow said stubborn man.

"Oh, no you will not."
she said firm, but softly to the man. "You must please rest. I would feel horrid if you get more severe injuries under my care. Please, you said it yourself, we are not moving too soon; rest for one more day with me healing some nit picky wounds and you can fight. Is it not wise to be in less straining conditions when wishing to train?" Lena asked the male, hoping he would rest with her assistance at least one more night.

... knowing I have the power to help."

Yaaay!! Welcome to the RP Lena!! -huggles-}

Mia had led the way into the tent where a couple of people were eating food, helping herself to a couple of bites, but nothing big, just enough to curb the hunger; she then took some fruit she knew would last awhile and packed it into her side pouch in case she needed food later- gesturing for Chince to help herself to what she wanted too. "Battles are really unpredictable!" She said with a smile, nodding her head, "So eat now because you might not be able to later!"

Then she glanced towards the tent's opened doorway again, picking up some conversation on the wind. "Speaking of battles...." She practically barreled out the door in excitement- she loved a challenge, and she loved sparring and a chance to improve her skills- so she generally challened anyone who carried a sword. Thus when she overheard the conversation about sparring she got very excited, "Hey! I've been waiting for a partner all day! Don't leave me out!" She exlaimed, running over to them.

Then she looked around, noticing a rather timid looking healer standing not too far away from the guy with a sword. "It's my lucky day!" She walked over to her and smiled, "Listen, I normally get real beat up in sparring matches, so could you stand by to heal any wounds we get so none of us die?" Despite this statement, she was extremely excited, and her smile was beaming.

Chince grabbed whatever looked appealing which was just about everything. At the sound of a sparring match Mia had run out. Chince wondered how these people fought. She walked out holding the better half of an entire loaf of bread and noticed a girl watching nearby wearing clothes stereotypical of a healer.

"hello there the healer. Are you for fight at after later?" she asked.
If she had translated the sentence correctly it still would have been a confusing thing to ask a cleric.

She drew her sword and noticed once again that most of the magic it contained had vanished leaving it as a particularly cool looking yet still rather ordinary blade. She held it across her chest to show she did not plan on swinging it since she simply intended to mimic one if the two fighters in the (hopefully) upcoming fight.

User ImageThe hands I'd kept clean
Now look dirty
Before I can doubt my memories
My memories are doubting me...

So. This was entirely boring right now. Marvelous.

Annis sighed and stretched her arms high above her head, letting her muscles ease out of all of their kinks before relaxing. She folded her arms neatly behind her neck and ruffled the feathers of her wings, puffing them out briefly to catch the wind. The commander's words essentially boiled down to "Blah blah we're happy you're here blah blah city being scouted blah blah wait here I'll be busy having my posh tea in my posh tent with my posh Estarcian buddies." He was much easier to deal with than some other Estarcians Annis had seen and worked with, though; much more down-to-earth. He didn't appear to mire himself in formalities and feelings of superiority thanks to his nationality. That was always good. Annis was already smiling slightly. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad after all.

It was only too bad Loch wasn't going to be there. Or at least, that was how Annis understood it at the moment; last she had been told by the man himself, the Cafe had been with such a lack of current help and put into such a state of disarray after their reduced customer revenue, that he was practically drowning in paperwork. Annis had always been pretty useless with paperwork - she was downright horrible for his work ethic, really, his hands were always busy otherwise - so it was ultimately a better use of her talents to send her out to help in battle. She liked fighting, anyway. Maybe she was an adrenaline junkie, maybe she liked the challenge, maybe she liked the ability to defend what she cared about and show how threatening a non-transforming laguz could truly be; whatever the case was, it was always a thrill to be in battle.

As long as there weren't any ******** archers. She sure hoped there wouldn't be any archers.

The raven laguz let out a long sigh and lowered her arms in order to rub her shoulder with one hand, looking around idly. Ever since that scene with fighting off Rogvald's soldiers in the forest, her shoulder ached dully. She could only attribute it to a wound she took during the fight, or perhaps something shifted back a degree off. Either way, it wasn't crippling, at least... it was faded enough that she could sleep just fine on it and move her arm completely and that was enough for her. Annis still hadn't brought it up again to Loch, though... she already felt herself shudder a little thinking about how it had felt to shift as she had during that battle. Could I even pull it off again...?

Her green eyes scanned the crowd idly, trying to locate a familiar face. When she failed, she sighed and flew up towards a nearby tree, perching idly in its branches. The raven closed both eyes and folded her hands neatly behind her head to cushion it. Resting did sound nice, as long as no one bothered her...

Chince looked up suddenly upon hearing the sudden sound of wings in motion along with the black feathers that bacame more noticeable. What was more surprising was that not just one, but two people were sitting in the nearby trees. The two wings sticking out of the one woman's back caused Chince's head to scratch again. The reaction she always had to bumping across a memory she had lost.

"Oh. Hello the bird people." she turned to Mia after after finishing. "Do you have wings too?" completely oblivious of the differing races. Not only that, but she had formed a correct and proper sentence for once.

You may call me useless for the fact that I am learning swordsmanship with my left arm

He heard someone speaking from above him, and he had started to look up, when he heard something from behind him. "Oh, no you will not."

He felt himself wanting to smack something. That healer that had tended to him had ended up following him out here. Did she not realize that he needed to do this for his own benefits? "You must please rest. I would feel horrid if you get more severe injuries under my care. Please, you said it yourself, we are not moving too soon; rest for one more day with me healing some nit picky wounds and you can fight. Is it not wise to be in less straining conditions when wishing to train?"

He sighed, and turned around. She had said his very same words, and were now using them against him. Although before he said anything, two other people came over to where he was. Two more swordsman. Looks like finding a sparring partner won't be that hard.

He then turned his attention to Lena, who would have been waiting a bit for his response. "Very well, you win. I'll rest but one more night. After that, I will be going back to training. I am needing to get back to it anyways." He then went back to the tree, and leaned back against it, closing his eyes. How much longer before we will be moving out?

I say that this is just another challenge for me to overcome while my arm is recovering

As the Estarcian soldiers and guild members went about their business, a group of horsemen rode up to the camp with Rath and Chieftain Songhua at the head. The vice captain and the Chieftain dismounted and then handed their horses off to the other riders of Songhua's tribe before heading towards Cyric's tent. Rath looked around to see if he saw many faces of the guild. ...He found himself disappointed.

The two nomads entered the tent to find Cyric with his tea- a custom of both Adlian and Estarcian cultures, even if their tastes were different. Rath bowed his head to the king and then took a seat by the table, followed by Songhua. "The scouting is complete. Unfortunately..." He looked to Songhua and then back to Cyric. "we are not sure of what we know. Even upon close inspection, there was no trace of life- no trace of anything. The city seems completely barren. It is likely that the city was evacuated and Mordache moved its forces to strengthen Pentheus. The captives were either taken with them, or..." Rath looked down, but then glanced back and continued. "Songhua and I will go to Pentheus and determine what we are up against. As for Arajudia, it is important that we establish a presence there and setup defenses before they move to reclaim it. I leave that to you. Once our scouting of Pentheus is complete, we will rendezvous at Arajudia and go from there."

Without knowing I'm alone underneath this moonlight
I've got a feeling that fragile things are being moved far off
By the power of always believing you'll be near me

I called out only your name

Inside this light...
On nights where it's like I can't catch hold of anything
There isn't a day I don't think about it

-Cyric-

In all honesty, even though the King said he was going to his tent to have his tea...he actually hadn't touched it at all. He sat at the end of the table, elbows at the edge with his hands up toward his chin. The once hot drink in front of him soon lost its steam. He hadn't even taken note that Songhua had arrived until Rath, Vice Captain for the guild in Learania showed up. Cyric looked up and straightened his posture. The news brought wasn't exactly reassuring. In fact, it worried the king more. Just what in the world had gone on in Arajudia? Even Learanian's scouts could not figure that out, the best that both parties could do at this point was, as Rath stated, to divide up and set out. With how things stand, that was their only option. It was pointless to move the entire group to one area just to find out nothing then set out for the other. As captain, Cyric knew this all too well, the safety of his men were all he could think about then and now.

“Very well” Cyric replied, though there were few people here to help and surely what little soldiers they had wasn't going to be enough. “I'll have my people begin preparations then. Our units are little, but I hope we can make do”. Of course, Cyric would just have to take extra caution. Horatio alone would not be enough to fend off whatever Mordache had to throw at them. Be it a trap or an ambush..or just one of their foul deeds, Cyric hadn't had a clue. “I will send a messenger to you, to the both of you, if anything should happen. Where is Horatio?”

"We will send him your way as we leave, King Cyric." nodded Songhua as he stood to his feet. "It would be nice to stay and rest, but I doubt our enemies are doing so. Rath and I must gather as much Intel as we can, as soon as possible."

Rath nodded. "I agree. We had better depart." After bowing his head once more to Cyric, Rath stood and went to the tent's entrance. "One more thing... The lord of the city returned to his home before the attack on Eyris under faulty information that it was safe. We have not heard from him since. Learania has lost several heads of noble houses already. We're not expecting him to still be alive, but... it would be nice if his family back in Eyris was able to receive some closure." With that, Rath nodded his head and left the tent.

Before Songhua followed after Rath, he turned to the king again. "The spirits tell me that something is amiss. There was nobody inside the city, but... I felt as if we were being watched. Use caution, friend." The tent flap opened and Songhua followed after Rath. The two of them returned to their mounts after telling Horatio to see Cyric and then rode off with the other riders of the scouting party.

Horatio

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."You called? Sorry! My break ran a bit long!" Horatio said, running inside his liege's tent, hopeful that he would be excused for his tardiness. He had been hard at work lately, so his ability to keep and watch time was starting to slip. A long vacation was going to be his goal after this mission.

"What did you need me for?" He asked Cyric, trying in all ways to be businesslike. With it being just the two of them, maybe the King was going to ask something personal and important. If that was the case, he was prepared to be all ears.

The extra pre-caution alerts both Rath and Songhua had given the king was nerve wrecking as it is. At least with this, it was not just him that thought things were amidst. It was calming a little, but at the same time, yes, both were right, he needed to be extra cautious if they are proceeding toward Arajudia. Well, the meeting was over now and Cyric can only hope and pray that Rath and Songhua can gather enough information for them to know what is going on.

In the mean time, the king had his own set of preparations to do. He was planning to discuss things with Horatio, see what his thoughts were on some of the ideas he had. Also him being the only commander left after the battle during winter, Cyric didn't have any other most trusted commander on hand. The main question of 'how' they were to approach Arajudia was the main question that popped into the King's mind. “I apologize for cutting your lunch break short” Cyric spoke. “But I thought it would be appropriate if I discussed what our next move should be with you as I am at a loss right now”.

It was hard for Cyric to admit, but hey, he's only human, he's not a miracle worker that can work everything by himself. Not to mention he was still new to the whole 'Your Majesty', 'My Liege' because that used to be his line. He stood up from where he sat and turned around to where a chest laid near his armor. Within it, he pulled out a map and unrolled it on the table. “According to Rath, there is no sign of life whatsoever in the town. As we both saw earlier, no movement had been seen either and the silence was deafening.” Silence came over for a moment before the King spoke up again. “According to Rath, the lord that lives there...they hadn't received any word from him in quite some time. My thoughts right now..” Cyric started. “I can only say in investigating Arajudia, we must take caution. I am planning to march toward there, close enough where we can see the city without much trouble. But as for entering the city itself...I was thinking of sending in a small group to investigate. Should it be a trap and they need assistance, then we will aid them and retreat if necessary. What are your thoughts?"

"I cannot bear to watch others come to harm...

Lena was very pleased by the man's response and gave him a warm smile. "That's very big of you, sir. A night will be plenty of time for all kinds of rest, you'll preform better tomorrow." she said to him. "I'm very sorry I stole a fight from you, as well." Lena then apologized with her head to the myrmidon in the tree above. "I'm sure you'd want a completely honest fight, regardless."

Lena then turned to the other young fighter and nodded. "Dear... you really should try to lower your injuries then! Do not worry, I'll be ready to heal you, but please try to be careful regardless; some accidents can beyond healing." she said softly to the cheery indigo-topped girl. "Let me take him back to his tent, though."

Lena then turned her attention back to the swordsman who first got her out for people to talk to her. She wanted to be sure he would be going straight to bed. "Shall we go, Mr...?"
.

... knowing I have the power to help."

Chince was confused. She never expected to have to keep track of five people at the same time. She took a few deep breaths. The bird person in the tree hadn't done anything yet, her friend hadn't moved much, and the other person in the tree hadn't moved either. There were still enough people to have a fight. She hoped to see something done, but she was starting to doubt anything would actually happen. Her sword started to droop downwards till it tapped the grass shooting a few sparks off from the tip. A few blades of grass ignited and she promptly stomped them out. She looked around and seeing nothing happen, started to resheate her sword.
"No mind. I can see you in the future the Mia." She walked away toward the tents again. She was interested in this food and felt like trying some more.

Annis sighed in peace and closed her eyes, kicking up one leg and crossing it over the other. The wind felt really nice today, cool without being too cold and just strong enough to make its presence known without whipping anything up into the air. Definitely nice nap weather. Maybe just for a few minutes--

"Oh. Hello the bird people. Do you have wings too?"

Annis opened one eye and looked to the girl who had addressed her. Who was this kid? She'd been all over Eyris and in a great deal of different places and yet had never once spied this kid. And with a speech pattern like that, you'd think she'd be noticeable. Annis adjusted her position on the branch, wings folding behind her neatly. "Yes. What of it?"

She shrugged one shoulder and noticed Ziaram and a lady friend down on the ground. One arm definitely looked beaten up as she started to guide him away from the tree. Definitely a serious injury. The question was, what happened? Annis sat up a little and cupped her hands around her mouth. "Oi! You!" She sat up a bit more, changing her position on the branch to sit closer to where they were. "Yeah, you! With the cleric! What happened to you, kid? Shouldn't you be sleeping it off right now rather than headin' off to do that? You're gonna give the poor girl a migraine!"

Nevermind that Annis probably would be doing about the same thing as him at this time. What a hypocrite.
