Zahur frowned again at the question.
"Yes, father's boss. He is a bad person, and he makes father unhappy, but father cannot do anything without risk of losing his job and thus the money he needs to support us." He shook his head as he grabbed a dragon from the box, looking at it.
"I know he does bad things to father, but I am still unsure exactly what. I just know that father's second 'job' for the same man makes father feel very sad and unhappy and other bad things, so he must do bad things to father, or make father do bad things he doesn't want to do..." He kept looking at the dragon intently. "I do not like bad people. I do not like to see people I care about sad and unhappy, and one day...I will make every bad person who hurts someone I care about on purpose go away..."

A frown grew over Tobi's face as Zahur described this bad person to him. "Maybe your dad can talk to my Father? He's a lawyer. I bet he could help." Tobias nodded a little. Of course, he was kidding himself and he knew it. It only took a few moments for him to shake his head. "Never mind... Father doesn't like Metas very much, so he probably wouldn't help out just because you're my friend." He absentmindedly looked over the phoenix he'd gotten when they'd first met.

Zahur looked at Tobi for a moment, catching that last bit.
"Your father does not like metas?" he asked curiously. "Strange thing to dislike seeing as his son is one? He likes...loves you, right?" he asked, slightly fearing the answer. The isolation was starting to make sense.

"W-well..." Tobias hesitated a little... would Zahur think less of him if he knew about his parents...? "No... he doesn't..." He let out a long mental sigh of defeat. There was no point in hiding it, Zahur was going to find out. "I lied about the dorm thing... Mother and Father won't let me in the main house so I have to live out here. But I'm not allowed to cook so Myrtle has to come out and make meals for me. I think I'll be allowed to live at school when I grow next, though, so it doesn't really matter..." His stature was steadily shrinking, despite him saying that it didn't really matter.

Zahur looked at Tobi. Why, why wouldn't his father love his son? Was it because a meta killed someone important to the father? What could it possibly be?
"But why? Did you do something to anger him? Did another meta wrong him in some way?" He scooted closer to Tobi, a sign to let him know he had every intention of staying there with him and figuring out what to do.
"Is there a good reason for his dislike? Any good reason at all?"

"Well, Father was always cold, but it wasn't so bad when I was a toddler... he would give me books and once he sat down and read me a bedtime story... but he never liked this..." Tobi sighed again, referring to the telekinetic speech. "He called me a freak of nature when I got these though..." He held up his tail, pointed to his horns and spread his wings out. "They all really started to hate me then... Father does not believe demons can be good... Mother says it's his religion or something. I didn't really help though... I tried to force him to love me so..." He went silent and looked at the floor. "That's why I'm out here..."

Zahur got a slightly sad face and pulled Tobi into a hug. Hugs were best when people were sad, right? He liked them from time to time after all.
"He shouldn't hate you for something you have no control over. You shouldn't have to make him love you..." he said. "Religion is just a stupid excuse for making something bad seem good. If he refuses to love you, then you should no longer consider him your father, because that is what father's should do. They should love their children no matter what they look like or anything of that nature."
Zahur paused for a moment. "No, he is just another bad person. I do not like bad people. They hurt people I care about..."

Tobi felt a little awkward at first, but quickly warmed up to the contact. He couldn't remember the last time someone gave him a hug. "But... he's my Father... even if he doesn't like the way I look or what I am... he and Mother adopted me from the academy... m-maybe if I tried really hard to be good they would love me like they're supposed to." He was reluctant to accept that no matter what, his parents were not going to love him and that it really was a good idea to let them go.

"Do you really believe that Tobias?" Zahur used his full name for the first time to make sure that he was listening. He still was hugging Tobias to be a comfort in this hard choice.
"Do you really believe that they will love you? Do you think that if you keep quiet and never speak to them again in this isolated little place that they will one day burst down the doors and proclaim that they were wrong the whole time and will now accept you with open arms? Or will they always keep you away, keeping you alive but never really living? If you really believe this, then you can keep going on like this and I will drop the subject. But if even you can't believe that they'll love you one day, then that just proves my point of them being bad people."

Tobi remained silent for a long while, feeling two very conflicting emotions boiling up inside of him. He was angry, no, outraged that they would do this to him and yet so terribly depressed that well.. maybe there was something wrong with him and it was all his fault that they couldn't love him.
They both really won out in the end... the depressed side of him forced tears out, while the outraged side made the decisions. "N-no... they will never love me... no matter what." He sniffled a bit and rubbed at his eyes. "I-I'm sorry... I shouldn't be crying..."

"It's okay to cry" Zahur said as he patted Tobi gently on the back. "You have every reason to cry. You've been hurt, trying so hard to make these people pleased only to be rejected time and time again. Do not worry, soon you'll be able to go to the dorms and never see then again, but you should, perhaps, let them know how you feel about this before you do. They deserve to know your pain, perhaps by even feeling that pain themselves. It's only fair..."

"Y-you... you think I should hurt them?" Tobias sniffled a little more and moved away just enough to look Zahur in the eyes. The idea terrified him, but... he had a point. It was only fair to make them feel what he felt.

"One should never hurt their parents," Zahur said in a matter of fact sort of tone. "But parents are people who love you no matter what, who would never hurt you mentally, emotionally or physically..." Zahur turned his head to look in the direction of the main house, where these horrible people resided. While his face did not show it, his heart was filled with hatred for these people.
"Those people are no longer your parents. They are bad people who are punishing you for merely existing. They are keeping you prisoner, even though you did nothing wrong. They have basically abandoned you as their child, and I am sure if they were asked if you were their child, they would deny it..."

The words made his heart sink. Would they really start denying his existence? They'd had all of his father's work friends over... but he'd never been introduced to anyone, they hadn't even really looked his way. He let out a long sigh, "so I should hurt them..." he replied back quietly. It would be a chore to get into the house again, but it was manageable.

Zahur tilted his head. "That's your choice in the long run Tobi. I'm just saying you shouldn't allow them to do this to you anymore. If that means harming them, then perhaps that is what should be done. Whatever it is, you shouldn't deal with these people anymore," he said. "You deserve better. You deserve to be around people who won't judge you on what you look like alone. You deserve to socialize with people face to face instead of just a computer screen. You deserve to be freed from this prison, and I will help you be free if you so desire the assistance. I will help."
