do you have any idea how people make/where they get that neon green tubing?

Cool. Do want. It looks like that's wider than I'd use, but now I know it can be had I'm sure I can find some thinner tubing.

note that that is solid plastic tube by the way... chances are youd be more after flexible stuff, like polyurethane tubing. try B&Q or a local DIY store (im english, we have B&Q's) for it. equally Garden Hose piping or petrol hosing would work (and give things more of a dirty deiselpunk look, though it works in steampunk too)

this is the sort of stuff im on about (for the green polyurethane, not the hosing). you can probs find it or something similar in either a DIY store or possibly a craft store if you have one with a wide range of supplies nearby...

also just for the record, ive been here a damn age now, haha you say about me being on these shores again but i check here daily and always have, i just lurk/meditate normally unless i have something somewhat useful to say

well, after reading akonites suggestion, im thinking of making a prop sword with Electroluminescent Wires running over the blade and into the hilt... could put the power supply within the hilt and the wires can be set into channels cut into the blade to make some sort of weird circuitry effect... feel free to steal that idea

another idea, again for swords or blades, what about having a length of EL Wire suspended alongside a metal rod, kinda like a steampunk lightsaber, though more like Travis Touchdowns "beam katana's" from No More Heroes (linky goes link hunting again......)

Awesome. I've been considering ways to make some kind of electric weapon for a while. This is quite a possibility. Though at the moment what I really want is a crossbow...dunno why...

I really like that beam katana thing - though the real one reminds me forcibly and unfortunately of a fishing pole >.< Unfortunately, I say, because it's really well done.
