Calder relaxed when she pulled back and wondered if she had found something. He gave her a confused look when she patted his neck. Why was she doing that? Hearing the noise made him tilt his head. Did she want him to try again? So he tried again but it was the same result.

Pursing her lips again, she whined softly to show her disapproval. Why couldn't he make noise? It was just plain confusing. Still...
She looked back to his face, smiled again, and leaned forward to nuzzle his cheek to comfort him, like her parents did to her when she was upset. They would figure out why he wasn't working properly!

Calder smiled a unsure confused smile back at her. He again bristled when she nuzzled his cheek.... though it didn't feel bad. In fact it felt kinda nice.
He then stood shakily on his legs, finally done with the why he couldn't make noises topic. Clearly she didn't know either. He took a wobbly step away from her and then looked back. He reached out a hand and wiggled it at her. Time to do something else.

Alert to the boy's movements, she smiled brightly and pranced after him, reaching out to grasp the offered hand. She already liked Calder much better than the other boys in town. They only ever wanted to pull her tail or take her toys from her.
A happy purr softly rose up, her tail twitching in time with the vibrations. What were they going to do now? She didn't have her toys to play with, and the flying bug thing had disappeared by then.

Calder was a little surprised when she got up so quickly and grabbed his hand. He wasn't expecting that. He just figured she'd walk next to him, not hold his hand. He looked at their hands for a moment then back to where they were going. His tail was gently moving behind him showing how happy he is.
He didn't have any clear direction he was taking them in. Only he felt a pull to go this way. He soon saw something tall and looked up amazed. It was a field of sunflowers towering above the little babies. He looked at her and grinned. He let her hand go and walked towards the tall flowers. It was then that his legs wobbled a little too unsteadily making him fall over on his face.

Their hands lightly swinging between them, Glorianna found herself feeling safe. It was an automatic response for her, to hold another's hand while walking in unknown territory. She felt better, especially since the security her parents usually provided wasn't there.
Reaching the flowers, she cooed in awe of their height, nearly tipping back herself as she craned her neck to look up to the bright yellow petals. Hearing the dull thud, she looked forward again and half gasped and half giggled, scurrying to her new friend's side. She babbled in a curious tone, checking if he was okay. She didn't want anything else on him breaking under her watch.

Calder laid on the ground for a moment silently cursing his legs. Why couldn't he walk like Cherish or the adults he's seen in the distance. When he heard his new friend babble something he looked up. To reveal a dirt covered face with a bright yellow flower petal stuck to his forehead. He noticed a part of it in the corners of his eyes and he crossed them to see what it was.

Sighing with relief as he moved, she reached down to start wiping dirt from his face, but the obvious bit of yellow paused her hand. She squealed with delight, her pitch rising as his face contorted in his attempt to see. He looked so funny! She pointed at the petal with a great big grin before craning her neck to look up at the flowers again. One was missing its petal, but which one?

Calder frowned as he pulled the petal off his face and then grimaced as she wiped the dirt away. When he heard her squeal of delight he thought about how he must have looked and broke into a big grin. He then silently laughed for a second. He looked at the flowers and stood back up. He wanted to go exploring in the big flower patch.

Hearing Calder stand, she turned her focus back to him and purred, reaching over to brush a few patches of dirt from his cheeks. She liked playing in the dirt, but her parents liked her to keep her face clean. Tail twitching, she took a couple steps into the flower patch, turning to look at the boy expectantly.

Calder pulled a face when she wiped more dirt off his face. There was nothing wrong with leaving it there for now. Seeing her head into the patch made him smile and his tail twitch. He quickly followed her in and soon was 'lost' in the flower jungle. He looked up as it got slightly darker as the flower heads blocked out the sun's rays. Everything was the same no matter what direction he looked in... besides down. There were all kinds of little rocks and tons of bugs, now that he was looking down.

As they travelled deeper into the garden, Glorianna felt a twitch of nervousness, and she kept close on Calder's heels. Everything really did look the same. What if they got lost in here? She loved gardens though. She always went out to 'help' her mother tend to theirs back home; though her idea of helping was rolling in the dirt and digging holes. She reached out to grasp a thick stalk, shaking it gently and squeaking when a petal floated down toward her.

Calder wasn't nervous at all and not worried about getting lost. It'd end at some point and they could always follow their scent back out the way they came. He looked at Glorianna sharply when she squeaked but saw it was only a petal. He relaxed and began messing with the sunflower stalks himself. It was quite fun to shake them.

Looking over at the sound of more shaking, she giggled happily. It looked like he was having fun too! She hopped from stalk to stalk, giving light shakes until at least one petal fell so she could watch it dance in the faint breezes that made it into the rows. She babbled in a sing-songy tone, thoroughly enjoying herself.

He looked over when he heard the giggle. He smiled seeing her have so much fun shaking the flowers. He moved a little ways away from her but was still able to hear her, especially now that she was 'singing'. He stopped shaking the flowers when he felt something move across his paw. He looked down and spotted a little bug, an ant to be exact.
