Good. He had managed to turn the conversation to something that he could talk about without any chance of upsetting his companion. "Well." He started but before he could say anymore, his eyes caught something. Or rather, someone. Someone a little too familiar. Typically Banzai tried to avoid his past flings, especially when he was with another mare, but it looked as if this one was particularly determined to speak with him.
Banzai glanced nervously at Acacia. Sure she knew a bit about his past, but coming face to face with it, well, it might be a bit too much for her. Maybe he could just try to pass this mare off as a friend instead of an ex-lover? He didn't really want to lie to Acacia, but it was just a little white one and perhaps it was all for the better.
"Hey there... uh..." He quickly searched his brain for her name.. B, he knew it started with a B. It was something close to his. Banjo, Bangel, Bangel, Bangil. That was it. "Bangil." He finished with a smile.

Acacia looked from Banzai to this Bangil. She felt a little weird, it didn't seem...exactly. Well, she couldn't put her hoof on it. But Banzai seemed nervous. She tilted her head at Banzai, "Who's this?" She raised a quizzical eyebrow.

Bangil waited patiently while Banzai tried to recall her name, she could tell he had to think about it by the hesitation between words and one look at the other mare confirmed what he had begun to think. This was a mistake - it was obvious she was interrupting something and it would be better if she just smiled, babbled some excuse as to why she was heading this way and leave...but her hooves stopped seemingly of their own accord and she looked between the two horses "Bangil" She offered helpfully to the second mare giving her a nervous smile before glancing towards Banzai again "Um..Banzai, I've been looking for you" She paused - she couldn't just up and blurt it out now could she? But now that she'd admitted that she had been looking for him she couldn't just up and leave either.
"..I mean to tell you something, uh rather important" She hedged with a glance at the other mare again wondering if perhaps she ought to mention it in front of her. She wasn't entirely sure why she was with Banzai and despite the fact that she was coming to tell Banzai he had children she didn't intend to try and win him back nor did he wish ill of him - so she didn't want to make his companion angry..but he had a right to know she told herself. If she was in his hooves...she'd want to know right?

The hesitation that Bangil presented worried the stallion. And she had something important to tell him? The stallion could feel a nervous tug deep within his stomach. Whatever she had to tell him couldn't be good. "She's uh, an old friend." He told Acacia. He didn't really consider that a lie as they had been... well they'd at least been friendly and friendship didn't have to last any certain amount of time now did it?
"Yes?" He prompted the mare. Banzai could feel his impatience. It wasn't something that he was proud of, but he had a hard time waiting. Especially for something that was supposed to be important and could potentially ruin his relationship with Acacia. As he thought her name he moved his body a bit closer to her, hoping to reassure her and let her know that even though this new mare had appeared, it was her that he cared about.

Acacia felt a little flushed. This was not good, not good at all. This mare was quickly shifting and becoming flustered, which would mean...Well, it could mean anything really. Not anything good though, at least not for her.
She offered, "What's the matter? Is it...his brother? Is he okay?" Genuine concern tore into her voice even though a part of her hoped that it was his brother...and not anything else. But that was selfish, and she felt herself blushing again horribly. "Please, what's the matter? I'm Acacia."

Bangil watched as Banzai moved closed to the spotted mare - well she supposed if she had harbored any fantasies about becoming a perfect little family that told her pretty plainly where she stood now didn't it? Thankfully she hadn't given much thought towards trying for that - and though she cringed slightly at Banzai's rather harsh tone, taking a half-step backwards before she remembered herself and stopped. She really didn't hope that this news damaged whatever it was he had going on with Acacia - she seemed nice and Bangil offered her a reassuring smile.
"I'm sorry, really I hope this doesn't umm upset you" She told the mare apologetically before shifting her gaze to Banzai again - and she wouldn't let his apparent displeasure at seeing her again bother her - she wouldn't. "I came to tell you that your a father' she told him stiffly "I wanted to tell you before they were born but I couldn't find you...and then I had to wait until they were old enough to travel...so..your a dad now" She told him in a big rush of nervous words, her voice loosing whatever courage it had had in the beginning.

Banzai's heart stopped and his vision became blurry. This wasn't happening, couldn't be happening. There was no possible way that he could be a father, well okay there was but he wasn't ready for this. He had only just found Acacia and now he had somehow sired two children with a mare that he barely even knew? He shook his head as if to make it all disappear. He would take Acacia furious at him for letting her doubt herself over this mess anyday. Now what would she think of him?
"I... I am?" He stuttered, still in utter shock and unable to believe it. "No, it must be a mistake. It has to be someone else." He refused to believe it, couldn't believe it.

Acacia stepped back her breath caught in her throat. Things...how quickly they went downhill. She had spent the time in the swamp with him, had professed her love to him. She had stayed with him, she was even going to work through this with him.
But this was too much, her head was spinning, and the tears were quick to her eyes. How could this be happening? What other things hadn't he told her? What other ommissions? "Banzai," her voice choked up a bit. "You're friend? Why can't you just say things!"

Bangil gaped at the stallion "Someone else?!?" She snapped at him "Just what kind of mare do you think I am?" She snarled more then a little bit angry at what he was implying with his words, she might have continued on with her tirade if Acacia hadn't spoken. Bangil heard the catch in her voice and even though this wasn't her problem - she hadn't been the one keeping things from the mare - but she hadn't come here to be a home wrecker or whatever it was this might be.
"In his defense we really weren't anything but friends...we were never...serious or anything and he couldn't have known this would happen any more then I did" She sighed slightly and looked at the stallion "I..I just thought you deserved to know..but since you think I'm some sort of hussy mare and don't believe me I'll just let them take a look at you and we'll be on our way. they at least deserve to get a glimpse of their father" She snapped at Banzai before turning to stride off towards the trees "Lyric! Zangar!" She called to the foals "Come out and say hello...and good-bye to your father!"

Finally! Lyric pranced out from where she had been hiding to greet her father. Well, now didn't he look kind of funny? What were those things on his face? And his hair! It was all so... so cool! She wondered why she'd never seen him before. She knew mommy had been looking for him but now that she had why were they leaving so soon?
"But we just got here Momma. I don't wanna leave." She whined to her mother.
Banzai stood in shock as the foals appeared before him. He hadn't meant to insult Bangil, he had just been hoping that perhaps there had been some mistake. However, with his children standing before him, he could see that there was no mistaking that they were his. They looked so much like him that no one could possibly say they belonged to anyone else. Unless he had a twin brother, and that he just did not have.
He looked to Acacia first. "I didn't know that this would happen, it was just a brief time, it hadn't meant anything. If I had ever known then that I would be meeting you I would never have even done it." He told her quickly, trying to patch things up. Then he turned to Bangil.
"I'm sorry." He told the mare. "I hadn't meant to offend you. I had just hoped, just thought that perhaps they weren't mine. I wasn't ready to be a father, but I can see that they our mine and I want to be there for them. I never had a father and even though I may have made some mistakes, I'm not about to make another one." He stood looking at his foals in awe and admiration.

Acacia choked up a little bit, before clearing her throat. For a moment longer, she was quiet. "They're beautiful," she responded a bit painfully. It was like all her thoughts and plans were falling apart right before her eyes. Maybe Banzai had never been hers, never would be hers.
You can't tame a wild stallion...Who had said that to her before? And with pain, she had realized it was her older sister. But that was long ago, but still just as painfully true. "They really are beautiful Banzai. I'm...happy for you." The tears rolled silently down her face as she backed away.

Zangar had been quick to follow his sister from the trees - though she had stubbornly insisted on going first. She always wanted to be first. none the less he couldn't help but agree with her on this "Yeah mom..we just got here, it took forever - I don't want to go back already!" He voiced along with his sister as he looked with big eyes at the Soquili who was apparently his father.
It was Acacia's motion that drew his attention from his dad "hey" He called to the retreating mare, darting around his sister and father to prance towards her "who are you?" He asked her "Are you sad? Are you hurt? Do you need a kiss to make it better?" He questioned as he drew closer and noticed her tears, a worried expression crossing his tiny face.
Bangil hesitated as Banzai spoke, her head turning between her son and her daughter as they expressed they're opinion, and then Zangar was rushing off and Bangil noticed Banzais companion - she looked horribly upset "Zangar" she went to call him back before he pestered the mare to much and made thing worse.
"I'm the one whose sorry" She told Banzai "I didn't mean to upset your companion...I just..thought you had the right to know..I don't expect anything from you" She went on even though he had said he wanted to be a part of the foals lives.

Lyric glared enviously at her brother as he took the spotlight from her but she was too entranced by the scene going on around her to worry about him. Instead she continued to survey the situation. Her mother didn't seem to happy and hadn't answered her question and that bothered her. Then there was her father and the mare that stood near him. She seemed upset and she had a feeling her brother was about to make things worse. Quickly she pranced over to him and gently shoved him out of the way.
"Hi!." She said excitedly. "I'm Lyric. Don't mind him, he doesn't really think before he says things." She continued on.
Banzai watched the foals. The boy seemed so much like him, and the girl too. It was all so overwhelming. Especially with Acacia upset and Bangil being a tad bit uncooperative. Not that he blamed her. He had been an a** and doubted that he could do much to make it up to her. But still, he had to try. He wasn't about to let her disappear back out of his life and take his foals with them. Granted he hadn't been around when they had popped, but he wanted to be there for everything else.
"Look." He started. "I know I can't make up for what I've done, but I'm done living in the past. I'm doing being the old Banzai. I'm ready to be a father and to be the new Banzai." He turned to Acacia. "I don't know how to make you trust me again and I don't expect you to forgive me for what I've done. But I promise you that I do love you and that we can get through this." He only hoped that he was right.

Acacia smiled again lightly as Zangar approached her, offering his kiss and then as Lyric pushed him aside. "No, that's fine. Thank you though. I was just..." Just what? And she knew then, the only thing that she could really do right now. Was just...."go."
With that word came a sense of finality, like a knell to her heart. The pain was so bright and vivid a feeling, that it was crippling. She could stay...she could stay, but she couldn't. Not now. Maybe they had never been anything, but she had to be alone for awhile.
Her sad eyes looked from Bangil to Banzai, "I can't do this. Not now. I have to think." Her eyes swung back to Bangil, "I'm sorry. I know that it's not what you wanted, to be like this. But I--well..." She turned her eyes back to Banzai. "I love you, I do. But you can't hide parts of you from me. I can't stay with someone like that. I need time to think, and so do you. You need to figure out if you're the old Banzai or the new. And there," she tilted her head to his children, "Is your opportunity to prove it to them, to her, to yourself---and maybe one day me."
Turning, she prepared to leave.

Zangal flattened his ears at his sister as she pushed him away, nipping lightly at her shoulder in reprove before forgetting about the slight as the mare started speaking again, he understood that she was leaving but was far to young to grasp the reasons why...or to figure out why she looked so sad. It was confusing like so many other grown-up things tended to be and he snorted in irritation at that knowledge before turning away to find something else to do.
A glint in the sun caught his attention and he eyed it speculatively, whatever it was was attached to his fathers tail and the colt sidled over to have a closer look while the adults all seemed to be occupied with other things, it was pretty and silver and dangly and he wanted it...rearing up slightly he grasped the chain in his mouth and pulled.
Bangil was at a loss to be honest - oh she had not expected this to be easy, far from it...but how could she have known that Banzai would have found someone else. He said that he loved her which was something he had never said to her and so Bangil had the inkling that this had been more then just another fling to the stallion...and then she had come along with her foals and wreaked it for him and for her.
You can't blame yourself she told herself and if they really did love one another well they would find a way through it all, her foals deserved to know their father and everything else well...it wasn't her fault. She merely gave Acacia another apologetic glance. "I guess..I guess we should talk then - if you want to be a part of their lives..about how we're going to work all this out"
