Rokkr Rich Harden Oakland A *As soon as Nitro grabbed E Rock's arm, E Rock tried to draw him in for a clothesline attempt.* Nitro's head snapped back as it smacked into E Rock's arm, falling back onto the guardrail, head spinning. *As the referee counted to four, E Rock tried to pull Nitro back to his feet and roll him back into the ring. If he could accomplish that, E Rock would then roll into the ring himself and go for a quick pin on the newcomer.*

Nitro was rolled back into the ring next to the ropes, and put down onto his shoulders. The Ref made it to 1, 2-and Nitro's hand snapped up, grabbing the bottom rope.

*E Rock noticed that the ref stopped the count and got on knees, staring at his opponent for a moment. He then tried to slap on a chinlock to wear Nitro down.*

This strategy made things dangerous for WWF's newest Superstar. Even at his best, Nitro wasn't very skilled when it came to Submissions, be it applying them or escaping them. This was something he'd attributed to his small stature when compared to the average wrestler, and his general desire to not stop moving during a match. Had they been in the center of the ring, E-Rock likely would've ended it there with that Chinlock.
However, they weren't in the center of the ring.
As N2O gagged and wheezed, his hand struggled to the side, once again reaching for the ropes in an attempt to break the hold.

*Once Nitro grabbed the ropes, E Rock kept the hold locked in until the referee counted to four. As the referee threatened E Rock with a disqualification, E Rock released the hold and stood up, staring at his opponent.*

Nitro took a second to catch his breath, sucking air back into his lungs as the crowd booed either his un-entertaining weakness or E Rock's ugly mug. Just a second and only a second however, as he lunged foward attempting to ram his head into E Rock's gut.

Just a second and only a second however, as he lunged foward attempting to ram his head into E Rock's gut. *E Rock did not expect Nitro to recover so fast and doubled over, holding his gut.*

Holds and grabs weren't really his 'thing', but what he was about to attempt certainly was. He got a leg up onto E Rock's doubled over back, using that to vault himself over his opponents back, and landed on the top rope, from there he went for a Spinning springboard Elbow Drop.

The spiraling blur of colors he witnessed as he spun off the ropes, the sudden sting as his elbow connected with E Rock's back. He lived for s**t like that. He attempted to run on all fours right between E Rock's legs, high on adrenaline and feverishly trying to think of a way to top that last spot.
