Riley hadn't taken a good enough look at the map when she snatched one from the book after entering the room, with a frighteningly happy Cthulhu attached to her leg. It wasn't walking on it's own, oh no. It had decided that Riley's leg was the perfect mode of transportation. She had spent several minutes trying to shake or pry the Cthulhu off of her, but it was actually impossible to remove a Cthulhu from your body if it didn't want to be. Her leg had several suckling welts from trying.

At some point she'd just accepted her forced addition, and stood inside of the room with her pet attached to her ankle as if it was perfectly normal. She finally gave the map a good look, and her head slowly tilted to one side. Was that.. were those..

She looked around quickly for the professor. According to the map, Riley should be attacking the students during this exercise. This was what she got from it - and she wondered if she had missed some memo explaining her role in the situation.

Should she just start attacking now? She considered it.

It didn't take long for other students to come on in after he had. Turning around, he saw a good number of familiar faces. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to have any more of an idea of what this was all about. With a frown, he just moved further into the classroom, staring out at the three lanes set out there.

Perhaps this was some sort of obstacle course type thing? Jericho didn't see how that had anything to do with training minipets. Then again, like Calder, he had missed the first class so maybe this was the norm.

Weird.

The dragon waved over at Riley and Mal, but then his attention went back towards the room.

Someone else had come in now - a dragon boil whose name Ren thought might have been Aksaja, if he was remembering correctly. He had met the boil at the Spin the Bottle party - it seemed like so long ago now - and he vaguely remembered the boil from the field trip. Ren offered him a friendly nod before he felt Jove shift. Glancing down, he caught sight of the boil moving closer, his ears flattened back against his fluffy hair, his expression a mixture of apprehension and worry. One look to the right at the mimic held in Aksaja's arms and Ren could figure out why. He chanced to put an arm around the younger boil's shoulders, gently squeezing, but hopefully not in a patronizing manner. The last thing he wanted was for Jove to feel uncomfortable, since he knew the boil didn't like public displays of affection. After a moment he moved his arm away, but his tail discretely entwined with his little brother's; a reassurance that he wasn't going anywhere.

Leaning against Gabrian, Ren's eyes were drawn to the doorway as another student swept in - this one much more familiar. Riley seemed to be curious about the map, but as usual, Ren could not read her expressions. He did, however, offer her a smile, lifting his hand in a brief gesture of greeting before resting his chin atop Gabrian's shoulder from behind.

"I don't really see this turning out well, you know..."

Other students had started to enter as well, only confirming that yes, they were apparently in the right classroom. And really, now that she had a moment to think on it, this totally fit Professor Malcolm's style. All his classes had been...interesting. Why would this one be any different? And besides, it wasn't like she was here alone or anything. She had two of her closest friends next to her. As well as a few other students she knew. The room still made her slightly uneasy. Just what in the heck were they going to have to do? And how was it in anyway related to minipet training?

Ren spoke and drew her gaze briefly away from the room. She frowned up at him. "I do get a 'Professor Malcolm' vibe..." she agreed, eyes falling back towards the three choices in paths. Jack this was going to be one hell of a class.

Another familiar scent drifted to her nose as the pup appeared behind them. She glanced back and offered Jove a small smile that quickly disappeared when she saw the look on his face and how he attempted to hide behind Ren. It confused her and, with her current frazzled mind, hurt her a little. Until she realized where his gaze was. On BB. Her mimic. Oh... Ren's question about said mimic only reinforced her realization that the pup was terrified of them. "N-not so much." LW murmured in response to the gryphon.

Seeing the pup so freaked by the mimic (she hadn't noticed there was a second one now too), LW felt horrible and was seriously regretting coming to class now. Her hold on BB tightened slightly as she stepped away from the two boils, giving Jove an apologetic look. "I-I'm sorry." She said softly, moving around until she was standing closer to Gabrian, but a little away from the group. The she-wolf did her best to keep her mimic out of sight and stood quietly with her usually mobile tail curled around her legs. BB, for all the terror he could be, was on good behavior for is lady master and decided to sit and glare at everyone and everything while grinding his teeth together in as threatening a way as a little mimic could.

Astra knew that she would have to go back to class eventually, and it seemed this would be the first one she would return to. Dragging her ever reluctant Shenglong ryu with her, as well as some of his favorite fear candies (she was getting quite good at making it herself) she peeked her head into the classroom and immediately spied several people she knew, including Ren and jove whom she had assisted in helping them find mushrooms, Riley and of course..him. She grimaced at the sight of jericho, and decided that the best course of action was to pretend he didn't even exist. Yeah, she'd go with that.

The other thing she had noticed that this room looked less like a classroom, and more like the outside wilderness. One part of was covered in water, the other was just air. She took a guess thats he would have to guide herself and her pet across the room...and she wasn't looking forward to it. Ryu hardly listened to her even when she offered him fear candy and threatened to use the fear whip. How was she gonna pull this off?

Deciding that it would be better to be near others, Astra moved closer to the group of students including Jove, ren and Junko. She would of gone over to riley, but considering Malodore and jericho were here, she would just get in their way,and preceded to just wave at them instead.

Her minipet Ryu was, of course, not pleased to be here in the slightest, resuming his need to glare at anyone who came near him and doing his best tobe a general pain in the butt to his owner to show his annoyance.

Overall, Barth liked Professor Malcom.

Even though so far both his classes had ended with something on fire, he had been a brave captain on their ill-fated boat trip, and liked minipets, which Barth felt they had in common.

Looking at the map and three paths, he was beginning to wonder if every adventure with their professor was going to be a misadventure.

He had candy, salvaged from his disastrous foray into cooking, and Glop, who was wobbling at his feet as charmingly as ever. If they were going to have to pick a path...Glop couldn't swim, and neither of them could fly, so that left the wiggly sandy portion of the map. Walking. He was already feeling depressed about it.

Hurrying behind Barth, Christof had thankfully decided that a leash would be a good idea this class. He tugged at the rope he had tied around Scruff's neck, the patched up, undead scareon couldn't seem to decide whether lurching ahead and straining on his noose or trying to get the treats out of his Master's pocket.

Christof just batted it away, lurching forward himself to make sure Barth didn't skip out of class last minute for a nap somewhere.

At the sight of what had become of the inside of the classroom, though, he stopped short. What in the... He glanced from the churning water to the gaping chasm to the ominously quiet path between them.

This did not bode well.

Another minipet training class? Admittedly the last one had gone smoothly for her group, but this one looked far more dangerous. She was sure Curse was not going to be pleased with this, but Whisper really didn't want to miss anymore classes. She had to move on from the island trip at some point, why not start with an easier class?

Well, that's if this one was easy. She looked over the sheet and her stomach sank. She was beginning to wonder what this school was really about. It seemed like the student were always in danger. Always trying to escape something. Could this really make them stronger? Hopefully this was about training their mini...and not trying to kill everyone in the class.

((600+ word solo))

Mandy was running slightly late. She knew this and she also entirely blamed it on the reason she was even coming to this class. First the troublesome doll had hid the FEAR candy she had made and then she’d gotten into a fight with Pa. Finding the treats and breaking up the fight had themselves each taken a good five minutes and after that she’d had to catch the darn doll and convince her to be still whilst she held her. All that added with Mandy’s ability to get lost every time she wandered the school meant she was running late.

Thankfully it seemed not too late. Whilst there were plenty of students about Professor Malcolm was thankfully for the moment absent. Though looking around the odd classroom she wasn’t sure if she should be thankful. It looked very… survival coruse-ish. That added with the note not to come if you were still injured wasn’t exactly faith inspiring but this was a minipet class and from what she had gotten to know of him on the trip Malcolm wasn’t a bad teacher so hopefully it wasn’t anything too bad.

Still maybe she should find someone she knew to stick with until they knew clearly what was going on. A quick scan of the room later and Mandy was gravitating over towards Barth.

“Hey.”

Lilith was there and she couldn't exactly say she was pleased to be, a scowl planted firmly on her face as she walked into the classroom. There was something about this classroom she just didn't like. Perhaps it was the students and their filthy souls, or the fact several mini pets had probably peed on the very spot she was standing one day or another. It didn't help that her follyjox, held loosely in her arms, was struggling for freedom -- probably plotting its escape to the underground and a good martini.

"Oh, stop it," she murmured, not bothering to look at the map she picked up. Not only did she not look at the map, she didn't seem to look around enough to notice, or care, that the classroom was different. It was just another miserable day. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, a soft glow in the corner of Lilith's blue eyes as she spotted familiar creature, felt a familiar feeling. She hadn't seen him or anyone else in quite awhile so when she seen her dear sloth demon she found her boots turning on their heel towards his direction, hoping no one got in her way until she did.

To say that West was merely excited about this next foray into minipet training would have been an understatement. Not only had he been encouraged to beat small, annoying creatures in the first installment, but the classroom had seen fit to burn to cinders before they were even done with the lesson. It was all terribly exciting. Seeing firsthand how terrified the undead were of open flames was an added bonus.

The second class hadn't held the same sort of excitement, but it had been rather gratifying to learn that he wasn't useless at cooking, even if the results were only meant for Master. The phoenix scareon had been deemed too slow by her owner, but it seemed it was all to her benefit. West had slung her over a shoulder, and although she wasn't facing forward, nor was it the most comfortable way to sit, it was still an exciting new experience seeing the world from this height.

West placed the animal on the floor just outside the door and the pair of them strode in, the demon retrieving a map as he passed them. He gave it a cursory glance. Meh water. Meh air. Land it was!

Alcyone glanced at the door of the classroom and she took a map from the folder. Glancing at it skeptically, she had no idea what to think but she knew from the looks of things that this class wasn't going to be easy... Her wishing comet, Eri, was trailing behind her walking as slowly as possible.

"Come on Eri. Let's go." Opening the door, Alcyone saw the interior of the classroom and she wasn't surprised that it looked just like the map. "I wonder what we're going to be doing..." It looked like some obstacle course or something? Three parts: land, air, and water. Phew. At least there was water. If she needed to escape or dodge something, she knew that she was too clumsy on land and air... no way that was happening.

Looking around, Alcie tried to search for a familiar face; it had been awhile since their last minipet class but it was difficult to forget the candy making process.

After waking up from her wonderful sleep following the awful field trip -- the one to the island to be specific, though both she had been on were awful -- a sad realization came to the Grim Reaper: classes were to continue. It was inevitable, she knew, and necessary, but so soon after? It was a miracle she didn't rip her hair out from all the stress.

Colette entered the classroom with her Reindeer, Dasher, and three pieces of fear candy she had made last session. Any others were lost in a little accident involving a black hole and several were just casually consumed by Dasher when she wasn't looking. She hadn't really spent time with the Reindeer since before the field-trip either, so it was a nice idea to have this class at least, but Colette couldn't help but wonder what would happen and worried. Something quite alarming had occurred both classes before, and she suspected this time wouldn't be different.

The layout of the room in front of her was not reassuring in the least bit either.

The Grim Reaper stared at the three paths and held the map she had grabbed as equally tight as she was holding Dasher. This didn't look.. safe in the least bit. The sounds of growling didn't help her loosen her grip on Dasher either. Professor wouldn't let him get hurt, would he? She didn't know any minipet-aid at all! Her own condition didn't even cross her mind, but it was unlikely she could handle anything severe so soon after the field-trip. Colette wouldn't admit any weakness easily either -- not at risk for a class grade.

Seeing as the air path was impossible for her and she didn't even know if Dasher could swim, Colette focused on the land path for any sign of what she would have to deal with. To her surprise, her eyes fell upon a familiar Sloth Demon and Drop Bear; however, a certain Igor and Reaper happened to catch her eye as well. Colette pursed her lips and thought for a moment. Maybe if she was lucky, Lilith and Christof would just be displeasing somewhere else. Colette couldn't let them ruin her new-found mood though -- Barth and Mandy were okay! They weren't dead or suffering Joy. That voice had been wrong -- lying! Colette hurried over to the two.

"You're alive!" she exclaimed to Barth and Mandy, amazed but gleeful nonetheless. Colette buried the urge to actually hug them and kept hold of her map and Reindeer. "How are you feeling?"

Sin felt tired still, but she refused to let it show especially not in public. The journey to the island had shattered all her previous cockiness though and she felt it more important to take her classes seriously again. She didn't exactly have any physical reason not to go back to class after all she hadn't died like some. She cringed at the thought, no Sin was healthy and whole just suffering from a pang of survivors guilt and being forced to re-evaluate her views on things. She held Pantaloons in her arms as the little impish Unmentionable tried to squirm free. Her patience for her 'babies' had become considerably shorter and their antics had finally changed from amusing to annoying. She bit her lip and shook the bag of FEAR candy infront of him.

"If you want any of these you better behave." She scowled down at him and then relaxed as the squirming stopped. Of course the scowl remained when she stepped in and saw the strange set up. She moved to stand in front of the land portion and eyed the entire thing distrustfully. What was this? She could swim but she wasn't risking the water lane, and the pit looked incredibly foreboding to a young succubus who's wings weren't grown enough for flight yet. No, it would have to be land for her despite how ominous it too appeared.
