Tavar had not seen a god since he'd become an adult and found his demon's name. Since he'd called out his demon name in front of the Aran'shale and Morifaer himself. But now...now this dark non-demon lion became a god and grabbed him by the scruff as if he was some cub! Tavar'urya had an ego, but he was not stupid. He would not win, and he knew it. And so he went limp, though his fur remained bristled and the agitation was clear in his body language.
Ngoma could only stare at the male who'd been traveling with she and Shairi. He'd been larger than average, but the two of them were used to large...it wasn't an uncommon size in their family, with the blood of Eidolons running through them. But he wasn't just large, apparently. No...Croix WAS an Eidolon! The pale lioness could barely believe it. She looked to Shairi, as if to ask her near-twin if she was seeing properly.

Croix felt the lion go limp, and growled again, deep in the back of his throat. He shook once, before dropping him. "You will leave. You will leave, and never bother either of these lionesses, or I will not spare your life a second time." He snorted, keeping himself as large looking as possible for the moment, wings spread wide and eyes narrowed.
Shairi was as surprised as her near-twin to find out they'd been traveling with an Eidolon. He'd seemed wise, but he hadn't seemed at all god-like! She caught Ngoma's gaze and nodded in acknowledgment. Unless they were BOTH hallucinating, what Ngoma was seeing was as real as what Shairi was seeing.
Croix was not a mortal, like they'd thought.

Tavar landed on the ground rather unceremoniously, returning Croix's growl, his own green eyes narrowed. "One day, you will pay." He got to his paws, refusing to look like the defeated lion he was. He had strong blood, and he would not sully his honor further than the non-demon god had managed to do! He made his way back towards the borders, tail lashing behind him as a symbol of his frustration. Perhaps he'd find Tulivu and make him crack again...that would certainly make him feel better.
Ngoma wasn't sure whether to panic or be relieved when she saw the assent in Shairi's eyes.
Croix was an Eidolon. He was like those who had started the bloodline she and Shairi came from, and he...would he leave now? Oh that was what she was most terrified of. Of loosing his company, of loosing the chance to find out if that little crush was something more.
"Croix?" She prayed her voice came out steady, but it shook a little.

Croix watched the lion go, finally folding his wings back once the male was out of sight. He nearly cringed at the shaking in Ngoma's voice as she called out. He relaxed a bit, no longer trying to look big...though he still was. And he looked back, his ears back, and ducked his head in apology. "I am sorry for not telling you sooner what I am. I will leave if you two wish it. Shairi frowned at the two, then sighed. Why was SHE always the logical one?
"I think I speak for the both of us when I say that won't be needed." She sat herself down neatly, tail curling around her. "Eidolon or not, you are our friend, Croix, and we would never run you off."

Ngoma had felt a thread of panic when he said he would leave if they wanted. She didn't want him to leave at all! And the Shairi spoke up, and she found the courage to say something. Odd, Ngoma being the coward for once...
"Shairi is right." She took a step towards Croix, and then another...finally stopping a few steps away from him. "You're our friend Croix. Please...stay?" There was an unspoken 'for me' in her words. Eidolon or not, she still wanted the chance to find out if she really did feel for him as more than a friend.

Croix was surprised by the two girls. It was rather odd, how they'd practically interchanged personalities for the moment. But he nodded in assent. "I will stay." He smiled slightly. And Shairi smiled back.
But there was a small knowledge in her smile. She knew her sister...and she would help her sister how she could. She owed it to her.

Ngoma returned Croix's smile, missing Shairi's entirely. Croix was staying with them, and that was all she needed for the moment. He might not stay with them forever...but for now, a little while longer was fine.
