Christa was visibly relieved when Melinda calmed down even a little bit. She knew learning that her cousin was a senshi would be a huge weight for her to bear, especially since she'd just lost her brother. But Christa tried to emphasize the positives so Melinda wouldn't fall into a pit of despair. With the funeral coming up, they both had a lot on their plates. "I didn't power up too long ago, I guess. Maybe a month or two? I'm not sure anymore. How about you? How long have you been awakened?"
The blood on Melinda's hand reminded Christa of why they powered down in front of each other to begin with. "C'mon Melinda, we have to get you to a doctor or something about that hand..." The last thing Christa wanted was for her cousin to get an infection with all the glass laying around. Now that the youma was dead, they had some room to breathe.
"Don't worry. You won't lose me because I have you here too."

"About a year now, although I still count myself new at this. Given the fact I pretty much said screw this after everything that has gone down." it was true, she pretty much hide this side of her and tried to forget. That didn't work, no matter how hard she tried. It was apart of her whether she like it or not.
Glancing back down at her hand, she wince some as the pain came back. It was lie it vanished until Christa made mention of it once again. With a rather slow nod, she glances towards the exit of the alleyway "You go first, then I will follow."
She knew her cousin meant well, but Mel knew all to well. She wasn't always going to be there, and right now. She hope Christa knew what she was getting into.

"Okay Mel, this way."
Christa exited the alley and looked about for anyone who might see them and want to bother two girls late at night. Thankfully, they were about half a block from a strip mall that contained an urgent care center. Bingo! After leading Melinda out of the alley and across the street, they found that the urgent care was fairly empty, as was to be expected. The secretary thought it was odd that two school girls, a Crystal girl nonetheless, were out this late and on this side of town. Christa quickly made up a story about how Melinda was sleeping over at her place, near here, and they dropped a glass on the kitchen floor and it shattered, cutting Melinda's hand. They hadn't even changed into pajamas yet and Christa's father had the car, so the girls had to walk.
The story went over easy enough, and Christa waited out in the lobby while the doctor came to see her cousin. It only took about twenty minutes for antiseptic and stitches, but Melinda was as good as new. Christa carried her father's debit card with her and used it to pay for the procedure. She'd give some story to her father when he received the bill, but she'd likely use the same thing she used for the receptionist. Her father would be happy to hear that his daughter was spending time with her cousin in her time of need. Nobody would ask questions.
After Melinda was released, Christa walked Melinda home to make sure she was safe before powering up and running off into the night for her own bed. After all this, she desperately needed some sleep.
