Stealth_Bomber_629 Vesperi Stealth_Bomber_629 Vesperi So I've been playing Clarinet for 7 years and this kid who used to play tuba, bought himself a nice Buffet clarinet. So he's been playing for 6months and he can out play me... so chances are our BD is going to switch him to first clarinet and bump me down to third sad The tuba player is a great friend of mine and he said that I make my plastic clarinet (Artley brand plus with the same mouth piece it came with) sound amazing, and that if I switched to a diffrent mouth piece that i would beat him out.... but I still feel terrible that I don't have the skills he has when it comes to music crying I honestly don't believe that your BD would change chair placement just because his clarinet is nicer than yours. If you're playing on a Buffet clarinet, you will sound great even if you SUCK, and if you're playing on an old plastic clarinet, you'll sound pretty bad even if you're AMAZING. It's not your fault that your clarinet isn't fancy, so don't get discouraged. Practice, practice, practice! biggrin d'awww your so sweet, thank you! You're welcome! 3nodding And I don't even play clarinet! ;D lmao then you must spend alot of time around one then

Dreams Dust Stealth_Bomber_629 Dreams Dust Stealth_Bomber_629 Conn 8D. If you don't know what that is, then you don't play horn. Uhh, yea. biggrin I'm playing a school owned Holton now, and I've had problems out the woohoo from it. PLayed our senior member's Conn 8D, and yea, I've saving 320,000 pennies so I can buy my own XD Well I'm not some snobby rich kid, it's actually my mom's old one. She bought it from a school that was shutting down when she was in 10th grade...FOR $500!! (Even with inflation, that seems really cheap.) It's from sometime in the 60's. Another weird thing is she bought it from a MIDDLE SCHOOL! Not only is it really fancy, but its also one of the biggest horns out there! When I started playing it in 6th grade, I had to have people at the music store bend the trigger back so I could reach it, my hands were too small! But I love my baby. heart Dear god, I'm not rich. 320,000 pennies translates to 3200.00 dollars. I'm nowhere near my goal, with savings from my band account, pennies from the band room floor, and leftover change from friend's wallets. XD I've tried looking online for good used ones, but they either have the removable bells or have had "minimal" damage... but looking at those photos, just a little more than minimal XD If I could find a good used horn for 500$, I'd be in high heaven XD And D'awww, that's sweet :3 I could just picture it smile Yeah, but that was in 1974, sadly. AND CONN 8D'S COME IN SCREWBELL???! Dang, I didn't know that! Are you sure it's not a mock-up?

The removable bells I guess were a favored sort for many of them, along with dimes attached to the valve levers :/ I didn't like those too much.
[EDIT] They were altered by someone who professes in the bell-cutting business.... [ :
