"It is not desperation, necessity, necessity." There was a small bite to her words as she spoke them now. Asclepius was wearing on her patience, and she didn't quite like how the regular senshi was criticizing the Blood Moon Court. Perhaps the girl didn't mean to piss Nemesis off, but it was bound to happen throughout her questioning. Her patience had never been something that stretched infinitely forward. It had a very short line, and Asclepius was reaching the end of it.
"Why would you? They've committed sins greater than any normal person could. It's one thing to kill somebody, it's another thing to take their soul, their everything from them. It's another thing to leave someone's body an empty shell. Would you be so willing to forgive all that?" Nemesis was momentarily disgusted. Sure, if she could turn them back to normalcy, she would. But, that didn't mean their crimes should be erased. That doesn't mean she should just forgive them. There had to be a way for them to repent, a way for them to make up for all the lives they had snatched away, all the families that they had broken apart. The Negaverse were stealing energy over starseeds now, but that didn't mean that starseeds stopped being taken. The new direction did not erase the past sins.
"I won't forgive them so easily, I don't have to." She wasn't exactly telling Asclepius if the Negaverse could be turned back to good. But, perhaps she didn't know. Anyways, if she wasn't telling her now, she likely wasn't going to tell her if the girl repeated her question again.

An uncomfortable jittery feeling settled in the pit of Asclepius' stomach, and the jitters extended to her hands, causing her fingers to tremble. She felt her throat tightening with upset; she was not fond of people telling her she was incompetent, did not understand what was going on, and it did not help that Nemesis was correct.
But she had always wanted to believe in inherent goodness. Like it was somehow still there in the Negaverse even after their corruption. Asclepius, Marcella, was not sure she could deal with a world where there were some who were simply outright malicious. This corruption was supernatural, wasn't it? Nemesis had said that the Negaverse committed sins greater than those an ordinary person could. Theft of souls, of energy, that was different than Ilmenite's apparent habit of pilfering from Walmart.
She had wanted to feel bad for him, that he felt it necessary to sink to such levels. But really, how much could be forgiven? Asclepius had never thought she would have to decide such a thing.
"I- I really don't know," she replied in a halting whisper, not caring how weak and childish it made her sound anymore. "But," her voice became a bit stronger, though it still wavered. "I know I can't forgive a repeat offender." Forgiveness of the crimes of the Negaverse ... maybe it was not something that mattered until she had met a reformed one. If that were even possible.
"I'll try to fight until I can find another way," Asclepius said finally, turning away from Nemesis. She had to go home. She felt sick. She really did not belong out here, in uniform, like this.
