She shook her head with a small smile. "It's fine... I'm use to it. now." It was the truth for her. she'd gotten gradually more use to others shunning her away or just not knowing how to act or trying to find some way or another to get her hearing back. She didn't mind.. her hearing wouldn't come back no matter the healers brought to her and she was comfortable knowing that some things.. words just didn't need to be muddling up. The affection two friends have for another or a parent gave a child those words weren't needed for.

Fei shook his head. He might not have been the most social stallion, but to him that sounded very lonely. It wasn't right for anyone to be shunned for something that was not their fault. How anyone could be that cruel, or survive that sort of treatment. He started to grow indignant, but realised there was nothing he could do. That was just the way the world worked. And really, what did it matter to him anyway?
'I am sorry that you have had to get used to that.' He felt awkward, but damn it if he would allow it to dictate his actions. 'Look, I'm obviously not good at this... Just what is okay to talk about, or is it even ok to try to talk? Is there anything I should know to avoid or what?'
Though he usually wasn't that big on talking and such, he inherited the tendency to ramble when he was nervous or uncomfortable from his mom. And at this point in time, he was both.

She shook her head lightly with a small smile. "It's fine.. the world is as it is..." She nodded matter of factly. She watched his body language, it telling her he was rather... uncomfortable with the situation "Anything's well.. Don't be on edge on my account." She couldn't help but to chuckle lightly, offering him a rather goofy lop sided grin. She was attempting to get him to relax a little and not feel like he had to walk on egg shells with topics. perhaps he'd feel more at ease if she brought up the topic? "You have many family?" She looked at him with interest. others interested her in fact.. it was partially why she liked to watch them, even if she did tend to get too close to comfort to them.

Fei huffed, blowing his messy bangs from his eyes. Don't be on edge...in other words act normal. Right. He could that. At least he thought he could. If nothing else, he would give it his best try. Normal. That should be easy, right?
Then she brought up one of his favorite topics. Family. Despite all their quirks and problems, he absolutely adored his. 'You could say that. With my mom and da, three older sisters and three adorable nieces... yeah, I'd say I have a fairly good size family. What about you? What's your family like?'

She smiled and gave a small shrug. "Small.. only a sister a mother and a father.. my parent's... didn't last.. went their separate ways after us girls grew up.." Her tail bobbed a bit as she paused to see if he'd speak some more. "I Guess they figured it best not to try and force something that just wasn't there. though we know they each care for us deeply. Don't see my mother or sister much since they went back to where we were born..."

Muscles bunched and twitched as Fei tried to stay and listen. The effort of holding the conversation was starting to wear on his limited patience. There was a time when conversation was acceptable, welcome even, he would be one of the first to admit that. Though he wasn’t sure about conversing with one who was deaf.
He was tiring of the conversation and now wanted the chance to run and play. Perhaps she might also enjoy a game?
‘That is…unfortunate. Though probably for the best. So they didn’t grow to resent each other and you and your sister.’ He stated. ‘Do you enjoy tag?’ Perhaps it wasn’t the smoothest change of subject, but change of subject it was. He kind of hoped she did. He hadn’t played tag since he was a young foal, and it was a good day for it. Though he wouldn’t be averse to other games.
Anything, so long as it involved moving and doing. Not simply standing around.

She watched his lips form the words then pondered for a moment. Tag.. that hadn't been a game she'd played in what seemed like ages. Giving a lop sided grin she nodded. "Tag's fun... though Who should be it first?" She actually shuffled happily on her front hooves causing her bell to ring and chime enthusiastically.

Though it would be the polite thing to do, as the one who suggested the game, to assume the role of ‘it’, Fei just didn’t feel like it. But he pretended to ponder while inching closer. One step, two. He was almost close enough…
‘Oh, I don’t know.’ He drew out the words. Once he felt he was close enough he quickly stretched out his neck and nudged her side. ‘You’re IT!’
He took off running.

The nudge gave her a slight shock. It seemed that apparently she was now it. Giving a lop sided grin, she took off after him her bell jingling madly as she loped. Her hooves thundered on the ground as she closed in a bit. Just a bit closer, she thought to herself as she drew closer. There, she pressed harder in her pace and stretching out her neck.... she bumped his hip with her nose and whipped around to head in a new direction. "It!" She giggled lightly as she ran.
