"Sorry. I couldn't see you at the time," Jericho said a bit nervously. He still felt bad about bashing her about like that, but she seemed to be in a better mood now at least. The dragon stared at her head, cringing a bit. As she said, he forgot to ice that. Then again, her head didn't look that bad yesterday either.

If Malodore could have frowned at the extent of Riley's injuries, it would have; as it was, a wave of disapproval tinged with anger rolled out from it... though it didn't voice those emotions audibly. "Si. Ice will help at any stage, though it would have been better earlier. I assume your skull is undamaged?"
Its backblades twitched a bit, rising slightly - betraying its emotional frustration to people beyond just mindflayers.

Ah, it should be. I can't exactly tell, myself. But, let me get some ice first-
True to her stubborn nature, she pushed herself out of bed and swung her legs over the edge, turning to stand. When she tried to do so, however, her legs reminded her that they had been crushed by a dragon the night before, and she let out a yelp as she crumpled to the ground.
She stared down at the floor, ignoring any cries or offers of help that would come, and tried to slow her anger. She felt helpless, in front of the two people she never wanted to be helpless around - and it was slowly starting to piss her off.
She wanted to tell them to leave. The words almost came, an echo of her desire still coiled around the actual words she managed to replace them with. I'm fine. Jericho, I'll take that food now. Malodore, you can get me the ice, since I'm clearly not up to par right now.
Her voice sounded frighteningly neutral, as she held back the pang of rage.

Furrowing his brow when she said she would get the ice herself, Jericho took a step towards the bed and was quickly startled when she suddenly crumpled. He was going to help her up, but he saw that angry look in her eyes which made him hesitate. Gritting his teeth a bit at that, he just nodded slowly while taking a few steps back.
"Alright... I'll be right back," he said quietly before leaving the room to go fetch her some brains.

"Va bene," Malodore said. It pivoted on one hoof and followed Jericho, heading to the kitchen. The ice box, specifically. The same place where the dragon was going. It walked stiffly, its tail twitching behind it as it moved.
Once they were both in the kitchen, though... "Don't you think you were being a little rough?" it said, sharply. "You could have severely damaged her! And then not to go to the school nurse or myself afterwards..." Its beak clacked shut with a snapping sound. The what the hell were you thinking, you moron was unspoken, but definitely present.

On the way to the kitchen, Jericho glanced to the side at Mal and immediately a flash of anger appeared in his eyes.
"I'm sorry. I guess was being a little too damn self-centered" he snapped back, "It was in the middle of the night so I doubt Cricket was in her office."
He didn't give his reasoning for why he didn't seek out Mal, but he figured the doctor would get the idea that he wasn't very happy with him.

Having them both gone made the anger ebb away, if only because being helpless while alone was something she could handle. She grabbed the bed and pulled herself back up into it with her arms, before swinging her legs painfully back under the covers. They would need more rest before they'd stop hurting enough for her to walk, it seemed. The swelling had gone down quite well, though - the ice certainly helped. She should have remembered to do the same with her head..
She reached back behind and felt the bumps and protrusions and winced. She would be feeling that one for much longer..
Their voices were loud, but she couldn't focus on what they were saying, so instead she put the pillow over her head and tried to drown them out.

"At least you can diagnose yourself," Malodore muttered, roughly yanking open the door to the icebox. "Take risks with your own health if you must, but..."

Jericho glared at Malodore, not just for what was said, but the fact that it had dismissed his jab like that. Was the doctor so locked onto her physical state that it didn't care about how she felt emotionally at all? The very idea pissed him off further, and he had to keep himself from shouting.
"How the jack can you go around acting like you've done nothing?" He growled angrily, "She wouldn't be anywhere near this state if you could have just watched what you said!"

"What are you talking about?" Malodore glared at Jericho. "I have said nothing to her. What state?"

Oh. The doctor was that insensitive was it? It was definitely getting harder for him to reign in his anger, though his body language showed the rage building up. Jericho's wings twitched, and he was rather tense in general.
"Don't play dumb," the dragon snapped, "You called her self-centered! She was completely torn up about that! I had to spar her to knock some sense back but dammit Mal, I thought you cared more about how she feels than that!"
It was too bad he was not at liberty to explain more than that. A part of him wanted to shove what Riley's plans were right in its face to see how it'd feel about it.

Malodore gave the dragon a look of complete and utter incomprehension. "What are you talking about? I said nothing of the sort to her!"
The sharp accusation seemed to snap the plague doctor out of its unthinking anger, at least. "There's... there's been some kind of misunderstanding." It let its claws drop to its sides. "I promise you, I genuinely do not know what you mean."

Yelling. Their voices had gotten louder, and louder, until even the pillow wasn't keeping their words out. Jericho was getting dangerously close to saying things she suddenly realized she didn't want said - and she flung the pillow off of her head and snapped a call out to both.
Excuse me. I hate to interrupt your romantic tiff, but can you both get back in here already?

Jericho was just about to lash out at Mal again when it denied saying anything of the such, but paused when it claimed there was some sort of misunderstanding.
"Riley told me you had called her self-centered. I don't know the circumstances around it but that's all I needed to know," he huffed before turning to grab some brains from the fridge in the kitchen, "If you're really that clueless, I suggest you speak with her abo-"
Speak of the devil. Her voice suddenly cut him off. The dragon glared at Mal a little longer, then turned away to head back to the bedroom with the food without another word.

Malodore, too, grabbed the ice from the freezer, pausing only to snap the towel off of the fridge door handle. It bundled the ice into the towel as it walked back to Riley's bedroom, its mind filled with confusion and more than a little hurt. It hadn't said such a thing, it hadn't, what was going on, it knew Riley had been frustrated that they'd been doing things without her but this other stuff was news to it and what was happening and why did Jericho think it was its fault and why had Jericho damaged Riley so much and-
Probably not the best emotional cocktail to drink when you had a headache.
