But they do not believe in a god because their lives are (in their eyes) horrible, or they lack in faith.

Aspen 2010 Humanism, to my beleif (i don't mean religion) is the way most humans act to their surroundings, not made by humans, but naturally made. Atheism is a man-made philosiphy in the belief of no god. Most Atheists are politically chalenged, politicians, or do not belive in a god because of an emotionaly scaring durring their childhood or adulthood, but even though I am not either I respect both. Well it's good that you clarified that this was "your belief", because what you typed is complete and utter bullshit.

This is not true. First and foremost you need to discern the difference between philosophy and belief. A philosophical idea is a product of hypothetical and logical premises, a belief is not dependant on any sort of presuppositional references. Second, Atheism is not a philosophy it is an opinion addressing a single question: "Do you think God exists? No, I do not." It's as simple as that. Third, Atheism is not by any means a product of traumatizing experiences. Not believing in the Tooth Fairy when I was little because my parents ditched me would be complete nonsense. I hope you get my analogy.

i do understand what you mean but when I said those things I meant the things that probably made them athiest (I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong) because that is what made most of the athiests I know or have heard of.

Most of the Atheists I know are intelligent, well adjusted people that came to it through logical analysis and questioning. On the other hand, some are loud mouthed jerks that are mostly lashing out against a religious system that has made them feel worthless. I don't know very many at all that are politicians, or became such as a result of trauma or abuse (unless you count the aforementioned religiously driven issues).

Aspen 2010 because that is what made most of the athiests I know or have heard of. What you're saying just sounds like a bunch of bullshit religious leaders feed to their flock. "Atheists are angry with god" is a common rhetoric. I can tell you that of the people that I hang out with, the majority is atheist. And none of them are traumatised or angry. It's just the lack of religious indoctrination. I could say that you're just angry that god doesn't exist and you've been traumatised by an experience that doesn't make sense to you without god.
