Dogby appreciated her pat, but recognized in his tone a very familiar sound. That kind of intonation that, though she didn't understand the words attached, meant her new friend was leaving. They always left. Sometimes they came back, and she loved that, and new friends always came, but she never liked it when they left.

Her giant ears dropped a bit as she watched him prepare to leave, her small doggy chin quivering with a whine.

Tony looked down at her, knowing she was doing her damned best to look as pitiful as possible. He was going to have to cuddle her, to reassure her that everything was okay. She didn't stay sad for long, usually.

"You're very welcome. Enjoy the books. And thank you again, honestly." He smiled and nodded his head, moving to the end of the counter to call Dogby back to him, so she didn't have the idea to follow Zac out.
