"I did not pilfer! It was lying there! You can't deny that fact!" Dammit, she wanted her treasure! Some treasure, any treasure! And then Cyllene clocked onto what she said.

Small fry. Small fry. SMALL FRY?!? No one insulted her size and got away with it! "I am NOT SMALL." She shrieked, baring her teeth. At least she had some sharp teeth, being an omnivore and all. Sure, she only used them on small fish, but so what?

She swam up to the big Kelpi and poked her in the chest with a small hoof. "Do not insult my stature!" Her face was livid with rage, red fire burning through her veins. It was like an explosion was happening within her, thousands of cells spontaneously combusting. A hiss shot out from between her barred teeth, escaping in a cloud of bubbles.

She eyed the small mare's display unfazed at all by her apparent anger. All she could show was humor for indeed she found this most amusing indeed. Letting out a laugh she deliberately turned her back on the tiny mare and slapped at her once more with her tail as though she were brushing aside something as insignificant as a fly before making her way to the shore. She was growing tired of this pathetic little creature and as amusing as the mare was.. her leniency was growing thin. " Off with you pipsqueak.. or mark my words you will become my dinner." With that, she hit the shallows and stepped out of the water, picking up the necklace in her teeth and casting the water a triumphant look before scooting the broken pot pieces into the water no longer deeming them as worthy of her collection.

Cyllene's temper had reached an almost all-time high. Small fry? Pipsqueak? That treasure-thief! She could feel her cheeks turning red from the increased blood flow, the thunder of her pulse in her veins resonating throughout her body. And then... the mare simply swam onto the shore. Outraged disbelief silenced the Seathi for a moment, her mouth hanging open mid-hiss.

Curse her! Curse her to the long-forgotten depths of the ocean, where she could rot for all eternity! Words of ferocity buzzed around her mouth like a panicked shoal of fish, but they never made it out. At the exact second she was about to let loose the torrent of speech, the treasure-thief dropped some broken pottery into the water.

Cyllene bit her tongue. Hard. Blood filled her mouth, the metallic taste making her wince. It was the only way to stop her from shouting anymore. Then, before the stranger could change her mind, the Seathi darted over and grabbed the pottery between her teeth.

Turning tail, she swam away as fast as she could with her newly acquired prize. Ha. Compensation.

She waited a while till she was certain the little ingrate was no longer around before finally slipping back into the water and heading for her den. She was glad to see that the tiny mare was no longer around to cause any further irritation. Carefully, she slipped into her den and set her trinket on a ledge, admiring it for a moment before nudging a turtle skull next to it. Perfect. she thought. This would be the necklace she would give to the male she deemed worthy of producing offspring with. For now, she'd keep watch to make sure the mare didn't return... but soon she'd need to find food.
