He slammed the damn the shut and locked it then brought another large second door across it and locked that as well. He leaned against the large solid metal door and slid down it. His hair soaked in sweat. He panted lightly. "What is your name?" He asked, standing up on shaky legs and making his way over to the now bloody jeep and pulling his gun out from the front seat.
He heard moaning and growls as well as banging on the other side of that heavy metal barrier he made. He grinned slightly, "Bastards can't touch this."

The woman leaned back into the car and grabbed the deer, pulling it back over her shoulder with a little bit of trouble. It was still warm, which was pretty cool...She backed up, swaying a little from the weight, but steadied quickly and looked to the man at the door. He didn't look much older than her, strong, but built with lean muscle, like a cheetah almost. The red head fastened the bat to her hip with the weed whacker before resting that hand on her hip. Her clothes were getting soaked with blood, great.
"Kaya. And you?"

The blond smiled at her. At least she wasn't annoying like most of the women he had saved. He sucked in a deep calming breath, "Heinrich Eberhardt. You don't have to try and pronounce my last name. It's difficult for some." He made his way over to a much smaller door and opened it with his key. God he could really go for a beer right now.

"I can see why, German is hard for a lot of people." Kaya snickered, adjusting the deer on her shoulders. God this thing was going to be amazing after a few hours over a fire. Maybe if she was lucky, she could make a break back to her place tomorrow and smoke some of it to keep it from going back as quickly. Oh, soooo many options for this lovely morsel bleeding over her clothes.
"Thanks for bailing me out of there, I thought I was going to have to lose my dinner and run for it." The red head beamed, following Heinrich.

"That would have been a shame. Those are so skidish. Every time i get one from the roof...i get over there and it's gone. Either eaten by the dead or another animal." He muttered. He got inside and collapsed on a rather nice couch he had found some months before. He had made his homes in a few places. Like the Moscone center. The Matreon. MOMA. And the trolley repair and storage place, where they currently were.
"There is a fire pit over there with charcoal and matches. Have at it. There are other cooking stuffs on the shelves." He said waving in the direction of it.

Duh it was gone, if Kaya saw a fresh deer laying around, she'd ******** take it and dash too. Survival of the fittest was a cruel way to live, but it had been effective. The woman hauled the deer over to the pit and dropped it to the floor, rolling the bloody shoulder until it felt a little less sore. The redhead looked around and snagged the matches, spritzing the coals with a bottle of (hopefully) lighter fluid. Right, give that a sec to soak in.....The red head looked over to the man on the couch and had to give him silent props. His hide-out was pretty legit.
"What kind of knives do you have?"

"Uhm. The sharp kind?" He said getting up and going to a drawer. In it he pulled out a bunting survival knife. He walked over and handed it to her. "I'm not much of a cook. I didn't take all the ritzy crap they had in in those cooking stores." He muttered. At this point he ate anything that was remotely edible.

Kaya looked at it and pressed her thumb to the blade. It was adequately sharp enough, and she supposed it was better than nothing. In fact, the guy could have picked something worse....She smiled and started shaving off the first, tilting the knife at such and angle as not to take too much meat along with it. The blood leaked out, and as more skin came off, Kaya could see thin lines of fat over the flesh. Ohhh, this would cook perfectly, and the woman started drooling as the thought.
"This baby's going to roast like a dream." the teacher sang, brushing away the fur for later use and eying the meat.

"I personally don't care if it did or not." He muttered going back to his couch. "I have developed a stomach that doesn't really care." He eyed her and bit his lip and frowned. I know it probably wouldn't fit you in the greatest way but i have some cloths you could borrow if you want." He offered gently. She didn't seem as if she wanted to screw him over. And if she tried...well. We all know what would happen. He had never thrown someone off a sky scraper before. He wondered how someone would splat if he did.

"It's always nice to enjoy a decent meal," she muttered so herself, using a good piece of fur to hold the chunks of meat she was cutting out. Kaya stopped for a moment and rubbed her hands on the completely soiled jacket before standing up. The woman picked up the box of matches and brushed it against the side, lighting it, and tossing it onto the awaiting coals. They burst into flame, and Kaya held her hands over it, taking in the heat and shuddering. Oh that was wonderful. She lifted her eyes from the fire and over to her new....comrade? Or friend? Maybe just Heinrich would be appropriate for now, and beamed.
"Anything cleaner than my clothes would be amazing, thanks Heinrich."

Heinrich nodded, "Okay. I'll go get them." He got up and went into an attached room. He shuffled through somethings and brought out a pair of baggy jeans with a belt and a black shirt along with a black bandanna in case she wanted her hair back. He brought it back in the room and dumped it near her.

Kaya kept her hands of the fire, just soaking in all the warmth her body could hold. It was slowly dying down, and the coals were fading into that familiar white her dad had taught her to look for. But she sat down to check out the clothes and nodded, muling over how rude it might be if she altered them a little. But for now....The woman stripped off the jacket, taking her gun out of it and the few pictures she kept in the pockets and tossed it aside. Her purple tank top hung off her curved frame comfortably, but even near the fire, she pulled on the black t-shirt for warmth.
"Ohhh, so much better."she sighed, rubbing the clean and dry fabric with her hands, loving the feel of a simple shirt. "Thanks again, you're being legitly amazing for someone I just met."

"i don't understand why people kill others for petty stuff when it's the end of the world. There is no reason. Almost all the men in most generations of my family had been in wars. Mainly the World wars. All of them truly displeased with the human population and how stupid they can be." He said sadly. He went to the fridge. One of the few devices still working in this town because of his generator, and pulled out a beer. He popped off the metal cap and drank some.

"Logic loses to instinct every time." she muttered to herself, stabbing a chunk of meat with the knife and holding it over the flame. The woman watched quietly as the fire licked it, cooking the deer slowly, doing it's job perfectly as the deep red started turning a faint brown. People had become rather animalistic when the epidemic started, that was sure, but it's not like this was entirely bad...The world had been so overpopulated, resources being depleted with very little thought of what to do when they were gone. Maybe this was something to be happy about, like a fresh beginning for the human race. Kaya knew she wasn't too sad about it. I mean, sure, she had lost a few people close to her....A hand ghosted over the photos being held down by the gun....But most of the species, almost all of the species, had been stupid. Had been hurting. Had deserved this.

"Ja. Well...i hope i'll be able to get back to Germany one day. My family has been really paranoid about a nuclear holocaust or some epidemic. They said if i wanted to find them they would be in one of two places. Germany. Or Russia." He shrugged. I hope i could see them again but at this point it's only a dumb dream." He flopped down back on his couch drinking his beer. He certainly didn't sound or look sad in any way.
