After the Truth or Dare fiasco, Maritess swore she would never venture out into the woods without permission from the faculty. No, she did not want a repeat of mental-scarring thanks in part to Hellma promising them a striptease nor did she want yet another detention. But with the arrival of a certain "helping hand", the winged vampire felt escape from the ever-disapproving limb was worth getting detention and a scolding. At least she didn't have to look up what the Jack the teachers were saying. So under the excuse of being a "helpful" student, Tess was allowed outside her dorms past six. (Which when one thought about it, didn't her kind operate best past seven in the evening anyway?)

There were quite a few students that had gathered, and to her discomfort only two of them were familiar. And even then, she wasn't certain how comfortable she was with them. Tybalt being one, and West the other. She didn't know the other students, maybe Astra was familiar if she squinted just right, the Reaper looked like her groanspring avatar. "U-um, do you still need an extra pair of eyes to look? O-or do you have enough people?" she asked uncertainly, large, leathery wings flapping softer and softer the closer she got to the group.

As Ren took the other boil off his hands Seiji was free to glance around at those gathered around him, and found he didn't know a single one of them. well, save Jove of course. As the pup made his way over he was greeted with a rather pointy grin and a fond ruffling of pale blue hair. Hugs, as he knew, were reserved for dire situations.

"Ay Jove. You're looking loads better." Red on black eyes jumped from glowing eyes to the ear that still wasn't half so perky as it's mate, and he almost reached out to touch it, but thought better of it. Letting his hand fall back to his side instead.

"So mushrooms, hmm? What are we collecting them for?" The note hadn't said, and the older boil was rather curious. There was a small forest of the things under the whisp's bed, but if those were the ones he wanted, he could have just picked some from there, so he had to assume they were going for other ones.

West's appearance made the jikininki look up, and he lifted his clawed hand in a wave, grinning over at the wrath demon. "Yo." And because he couldn't resist needling him, he went on to add, "get lost? This ain't your usual gig."

The pup nodded towards Sheridan, and then turned with a perked ear when he heard West speak up. He had briefly seen the other boil with Yaya back on the island, when she had hurt her leg and Junko was shouting at him because he liked her hair short. Jove was, in all honesty, happy to see him despite his grumpy attitude. West hadn't seemed so bad back on the island, and the pup wasn't far from imagining him as the gruff-yet-friendly sort. Clearly he would get a perceptual readjustment from the demon soon enough.

Jove's ear perked up once more as a half-bodied ghoul approached, and she even got a slight head-tilt from the little pup. He had never seen a torso move on it's own before, how did she know how tall to be without her lower half between herself and the ground?

It was a puzzle he would think on after their mushroom hunt, being a little gentleman-in-the-making, it would be rude to stare. Especially when she was nice enough to help him look for mushrooms.

With another tail wag he widened the circle slightly to let her in, and then snorted at Seiji, eyeing the hand that rose and dropped rather pointlessly. If he had spoken then it would have been to tell his friend he was just fine, and had been fine from the start. The pup was going to intentionally forget how messed up that stupid trip had left him.

He whined, clearly expecting Seiji to understand that they were collecting mushrooms for a very important, very urgent reason. And then he yawned. Tybalt, being another canine figure, might have picked up on the anxiety in the gesture rather than interpreting it as sleepiness or relaxation.

Was she late? She hoped she wasn't late! Junko had been doing better since her day with Tomoko, and apologizing to Seiji, and her chat with Riley. She still had trouble sleeping and not even because of Her, and every now and then she did still run in terror from someone wearing too much black...but other than that she was doing okay! She had been trying to get to sleep early so she could have more time to try and force herself asleep again after the almost guaranteed nightmares when she received a text from Seiji. Mushroom hunting with Jove? Hmmm!

...Well, she wasn't going to sleep anytime soon anyway!

Junko had changed into something more presentable than pajamas, fed her minipets and then headed out of her room to the designated meeting place with a small basket. They were hunting for mushrooms, wouldn't they'd need baskets to carry them in? She didn't quite know how one went on a mushroom hunt but she was game for it! Even when she saw West. She could...she could handle him! He wasn't scary! The Mistress sneered under Junko's hair at the sight of West, and became even more irritated when Junko spotted Seiji. Junko grinned and hurried over to her boilfriend, trying to creep up behind him before linking arms with him. "Boo~!" She chirped. Oh yes, Junko was just so terrifying.

Now that she had found her boilfriend she looked around to see who else was around. Oh, good! No one she didn't recognize! "Hi, Jove!" She called out to the little puppy, looking more cheerful than someone who wasn't sleeping at all should. She'd be fine! She was used to this. She waved to Tybalt and Ren, and Sheridan, and Tess, and...yes..she even waved to West. She didn't quite know Astra though! She'd seen her around but never actually met her. So many people here to help Jove! This would be fun!

Tybalt could barely disguise his look of relief when Ren let go. Finally! Now he could just go back to the dorms an----or not... Talking one step forward he felt a tug on his tail and realized in horror that the idiot gryphon had wrapped his tail around his own. Preventing his escape. AGAIN!

"You a*****e...!" He growled; glaring down at the gryphon's tail and debating about whether or not he should bite it in two. But instead settled for kicking Ren the moment he turned his back on him.

Yes. It would seem that there would be no hope of friendship between the two and he wondered how any of those here could even tolerate the idiot bird's presence for more than two seconds! Though perhaps their reasons for being here were more for the shorty ghost canine, than they were for the gryphon? Speaking of which.... Looking at him now, he seemed a little distressed. Though with another look, he decided to change that thought. He seemed very distressed. But for what reason? He didn't know. He didn't even know him! Nor did he know half the people here!

Tess' anxiety had lessened. Slightly. Thanks mostly to Jove's welcoming gesture. Or at least, Tess thought he was welcoming her into the circle what with the widening thing. When Junko arrived, Maritess initially thought Jove's actions were directed to the other ghoul. But no, the ghost boil (who was neither Seiji nor Tybalt) was looking at her when he did that, wasn't he? Her doubts would have been better put to rest if someone had given a verbal response as Tess tended to read too much into everything.

She opened her mouth to ask something, a clarification probably, but with most of the other students that had gathered not really talking to each other, Tess was at a loss over what to say. But she'd already made the attempt to talk, so, she might as well, "U-um, does the faculty members know about the mushroom hunt?"

The pup's whine received a mixed reaction from his fellow ghost. Gray features first dipping in an unsure frown before immediately lifting into a more understanding smile. "Alright. I'm at your disposal, just point me at the mushrooms." The yawn was a little confusing, and of course being the knuckle head that he was he took it for the sign of tiredness that it usually was. Dropping his hand on the younger boil's shoulder to pull him a little closer, fingers squeezing gently.

The sneak attack upon his claw handed arm actually managed to catch him by surprise, but it was a happy surprise, and the stealthy little ninja earned herself a swift peck on the forehead and the shifting of his arm to curl around her shoulder so he could pull her in against his side. He wasn't sure if she'd come down, but it was obvious he was happy to see her. She knew how much he'd been worried about it the previous week. "Boo, huh? So scary. Glad you made it, J."

He glanced up at West's offer to help, and dark brows rose in amused curiosity. "Really?" The skepticism was thick in his voice, but he was only giving the demon a hard time. Their meetings had been brief and rather dire, but he had to admit he liked the guy.

Being new, and having never experienced the fun of a faculty member crashing a party and sending them all to detention, Seiji found Tess's question a little odd. "Do they need to know?"

The pup's tail wagged up a storm at the sight of Junko. He hadn't smelled her coming, and after the first time he realized she wasn't dead after all, that happiness had lingered to resurface every time he saw her.

He broke free from Seiji's grasp to trot over to Ren, as if saying "Look, Junko is here too!"

Then he surveyed the crowd again, pleased that everyone seemed to be getting acquainted with each other. The half-bodied ghoul still seemed a little troubled, and Tybalt looked rather pissed off, West looked uninterested and rather grumpy... And his brother looked a bit too smug. The scene was enough to warrant a head tilt from the pup.

But he was more concerned with the state of his bedroom mushroom garden than with everyone's social relations, so he trotted over to his wagon full of nervous energy and tugged it around a little bit, hoping to leave soon.

The more the redheaded demon talked, the more Ren found him to be somewhat familiar. He couldn't exactly place him, but after a few attempts at trying he just shrugged it off, giving the demon - West - a simple nod in greeting. "We're just finding them to help out my little brother," he said, and gestured to Jove. "He uses them as...er, that is to say, he just wants them."

He did not want to say that Jove used them as frightlights; that somehow seemed a bit too personal, so he just left it at that, instead, turning to cast a very placating look over his shoulder at Tybalt. Who, as soon as Ren had turned around, had decided to kick him in the shins.

"You're being loud, Schnauzer," he said dryly, rubbing his ankle and scowling slightly. "Also that hurt. Can't you just learn to play nicely with the other kids, or do I need to send you to your corner?"

Two more ghouls had arrived now - one being Junko, and as she waved to him, Ren offered her a smile and a friendly wave back. He did not know her well, but Jove liked her a lot, which automatically made her okay in Ren's book. The other ghoul was one that Ren did not know, one...without legs..? Huh. Now that was interesting. She seemed a bit hesitant, so Ren stepped towards her, half dragging Tybalt (their tails were still connected, after all) with him.

"We're always in need of a good pair of eyes to help," he answered her lightly and then added "I'm Ren, by the way. This is Tybalt, and that little short one over there is Jove, the reason we're all here."

Speaking of the puppy...he had moved back over now, his tail wagging behind him, as he first looked up at Ren, then cast a happy glance over at Junko. Ren followed his eyes and smiled, reaching out his good hand to ruffle Jove's hair affectionately.

"I'm glad so many people showed up," he said, and followed his little brother over to the cart, leaning against it (Tybalt was still being dragged every which way). "We almost ready to go?"

Ouuuu, Jove needed help with mushrooms and f;slkdfashdfl;kdjflasf. Tomoko hadn't been sure if she should come out or not, but ultimately she'd talked herself into leaving the demon dorms to brave the dark of night and find some mushrooms. Muttshrooms?Mushrooms...something like that. Never the less, the kitsune had gravitated awkwardly in the direction of Seiji and Junko..and then paused before gravitating towards Jove, ears perked right up.

She hugged her ball of stars to her chest and a little straggler moved about her feet, his form blending into the dark easily, though his body stuck out clearly against the pale fur of the kitsune, Mononoke looking at those assembled with a certain unease that a dog that had watched a child grow up would hold.

Clearly she hadn't been able to get out of the dorms any other way.

Awkwardly, Tomoko held up a hand, offering the ghost boy a small wave, one of her tails perking up and the tip of it wagging shyly.

She really couldn't remember why she had been outside in the first place today. Probably just trying to escape the claustrophobic feeling of being inside. And the lonely feeling. Basically the same old reasons that she had every time she went outside now. Which was a lot. That cursed trip from hell. There were many things that were different now thanks to that 'field trip'. One that still hurt her to think on.

Which was why LW had gone outside. Again. To get away. Sort of. Something about being outside had always made her feel more relaxed and at ease. Something her mind desperately needed right now.

The she-wolf didn't remember falling asleep while laying out on the grass, but she did. In fact the only reason she had awakened from her nap was when a scent caught her attention. It was familiar yet not at the same time. Like someone she had met briefly. When she had looked around, surprised at how late it was out now, the fleeting form of a fellow canine drew her gaze. Wasn't that the black dog? What was his name...Tybalt. That was it. From...yeah, she'd met him once. Twice maybe.

Stretching, LW slowly got to her feet, tail twitching as she debated on following. Where was he off to anyways? Her feet started to move before her mind fully completed the thought and the she-wolf stalked after the black dog, curious as to what had drawn his attention.

Apparently, there was a group forming. A group with familiar faces. And scents. One particular scent hit her nose and the she-wolf froze. Her best friend was out here. So was Jove. Violet eyes spotted the pup easily as he moved over towards a wagon and then slowly, she let her gaze travel around to take in more faces until finally she spotted Tybalt, whom she had followed, and Ren.

What is going on out here? Maybe she'd stick around a little bit and see why a small group was gathered?

Jove would have been terribly embarrassed if Ren had mentioned what he used those mushrooms for. Especially in front of so many of the older students. Only wimpy little boils slept with a frightlight, and Jove wasn't a child!

... But speaking of children, it looked like Ren really was being a nuisance. With a little huff Jove gave Ren a shove, freeing the black dog's tail with an apologetic frown. It was no wonder there was kicking and swearing going on, Ren was practically asking for it!

He was about to frown at Ren when he noticed a familiar little figure approaching, and he mimicked her hand-raising gesture in return. Kitsunes were rather similar to foxfires, sort of... So surely she would know what mushrooms were good! It struck Jove that it was almost like their field trip party, Tomoko, Junko, Seiji and himself, off searching for something... He tried to keep back the little shudder that ran through him, his good arm straying to his left side as though trying to keep the psychological wound from getting worse.

Thankfully at that moment the gentle breeze at the forest's edge changed direction, and he caught wind of something familiar. His good ear perked and he turned to look straight in LW's direction before his tail began to wag. Reaching over to tug on Ren's shirtsleeve, he pointed her out.

By this point, Aksaja was about ready to start . . . attempting to get back into the swing of things. He'd actually missed a few classes - which he was sure someone would be pissed about eventually, but right now he didn't care. That stupid field trip had been traumatizing to the extreme . . . and if he heard about another one coming up, he fully intended to go hide or something rather than have another experience like that one.

This mushroom thing, though . . . well, that could be interesting. They weren't really supposed to go into the forest, but that one time they had something pretty interesting had happened. And he sort of knew Jove, so he was willing to help. Gathering up a few snacks to bring along, the lightning dragon headed for the edge of the forest. "Hey," he called to the group once he was close enough. "Still lookin' for people to help?"

Not that he really had any clue what mushrooms to actually look for, but hey. It was something to do.

Tess blinked and chewed slightly on her lower lip at Seiji's question. "W-well, the last time a group gathered in the woods without the staff's knowledge or permission, w-we, um, they got detention for it." She shuddered at the memory. It wasn't as terrible as the Other Bathroom, but it wasn't pleasant.

At Ren's approach and introduction, the winged vampire gave the griffon a small smile, "I-I'm Maritess, and I know Tybalt he's vice captain of the Track Team." she added. The undead ghoul wasn't certain what else to say or whether it was appropriate to volunteer more information.

"Yes. I'm a terrifying monster whose very mention will give one nightmares for life~." Junko grinned, hugging his arm until he moved it to hold her around her shoulders, pausing a moment when she heard someone yell about an a*****e and looking around until she spotted Tybalt kicking Ren. Owwww! What was wrong? Junko bit down on the end of her thumb for a moment, nervous for those two. Would they be okay? Did they need to be separated? Maybe they should be stopped before a full on fight broke out...they were all here to help Jove! Couldn't they forget about that for a little bit? Sigh. She watched Jove move to a wagon and pull it around, adjusting her hold on the basket hanging from her arm with a smile. The smile faded at the exchange she was hearing between Tess and Seiji, however. Oh Jack...oh Jack, oh Jack..! Tess was right! Junko tensed up against Seiji at the memory of that detention, biting down on her lip.

"I..I can't get detention again. That was just awful!" She gasped, trying to keep her voice low so she wouldn't cause a scene. Whywhywhywhy? Why did Tess have to bring that up? "I don't even remember what we did to warrant detention!" Junko whined, tugging nervously at her own hair. The Mistress snorted. Suddenly another figure was close to them and Junko, still jittery in her nervousness, jumped and clung to Seiji until she realized it was only Tomo-chan.

Wait! Tomo-chan was here too! How delightful! Junko's smile returned. "Hi, Tomo-chan!" She chirped to her little kitsune 'sister', looking up again to see Aksaja as well. She waved to him before finally looking to Jove again. He looked ready to get a move on. "Maybe..we should get going now. We don't have time to waste, right?"
