"Awesome!" he replied excitedly "I'll be looking forward to it, so you better not forget!" Accusatory though the words might have seemed, the accompanying smile betrayed no malevolent intent. He really was looking forward to it; he had bought the sword, sure, but there weren't a whole lot of places big or open enough for him to practice freely. The whole trip was sounding exciting in itself - Luke had yet to explore beyond Camphoreon's limits, and he was curious what sort of areas they would see - and now there was the added prospect of being able to spend some time practicing with his blade. Thus far he had nothing to regret from agreeing to accompany her, and any regrets he might had from coming to Kodo were fading in the warm sunlight.

The shift in the scenery was so progressive that Luke scarcely took note of it, and he proceeded forward casually with his arms folded behind his head. At Rosie's question, he gave a partial shrug, "It's been pretty good, I guess." A different tune from the one he'd told the man in the elevator. "The weather's nice, and there's a lot to do." Though he wasn't exactly sure how to do most of it, or was at least unwilling to try.

"Mmh Mmh" She hummed in noises of denying any such an act of forgetfulness while shaking her head. She really did want to see what it looked like when he used his sword, she was going to be sure to find their way right to the field. "I promise, I won't forget. I'm really excited to see your forms"

She listened to his summery of the city, and nodded with an agreeing smile on her face, turning up to look at the sky, and indeed the beautiful weather above.
"The weather has been really nice lately, It'll just continue to get better to."

Next to her, Vahy'n was glancing up at the man, losing time as she trotted with an elegant gate next to her young trainer.
It was when the Vaporeon suddenly found that her training was suddenly not next to her that Vany'n stopped, her head turning sharply as wide yellow eyes blinked, staring back at Rosie who had stopped dead in her tracks. feet together, hands closed tightly at her sides.
"Vapo-"

Kiss Kiss to looked over at Rosie, tilting her head and leaning up to drape over the blonds head in confusion, "Pika...?"

It was where pavement met dirt road, the edge of the city, behind her in the distance were tall sweeping buildings, and in front of her, long stretch of travel road and wilderness.
Every pokemon trainer's dream. but Rosie couldn't help but feel a little nervous, her white boots still planted on the pavement ground, the gravel just a step away from her.
"... Everyone's always told me I would make a good coordinated... I don't want to let anyone down, but I don't think that's what I need to be doing right now..." She said after some time of staring nervously to the wilderness passed.
"I don't want to be scared anymore."

She had been, for longer than she's ever been scared in her life. With good reason, but it was after meeting Luke, and after hearing how brave he was, even when he also met someone from Team Rocket, he tried to stop them.
Rosie wanted to be that brave, she wanted to be that strong, to be able to help defend people, and pokemon.

With the sudden change in the paving of the road ahead, Luke became aware of how far they had traveled and how significantly the scenery had changed from the clustered buildings and fenced off shrubs he had grown accustomed to seeing. The path before them was different from any he could remember in the whole of his life, and he would be lying to say he didn't feel a bit overwhelmed, even a bit intimidated.

The Vaporeon's voice alerted Luke to the fact that Rosie had stopped moving forward, and he turned to regard her as she spoke. He spent a moment in thoughtful silence as he considered her words and how best to answer them. "You're not gonna let anyone down by doing what you think is best," he said at length. "I don't think it's a matter of being scared or not being scared. 'Cause... you know..." He stared down at the gravel beneath his feet, kicking idly at the dirt. "...I'm not real confident either, and I guess I've been thinking a lot that I want to go home... But I don't think I made a bad choice, so I don't want to run away. Even if I'm not sure about how it'll go, I want to keep moving forward, you know?" He reached for Rosie's wrist, a gentle tug encouraging her to take the step. "As long as you're putting one foot in front of the other, you're making progress."

Not one word of what Luke had spoken was missed by the young trainer.
He hadn't had to say anything, she understood if her uncertainty to continue out into the newly frightening world, would annoy him.

But... She was so silly, of coarse he would know better than anyone.
"This is all new to you..." She said quietly, her gaze having shifted form the path, to Luke's green eyes.
From what she knew of him, he was away from home, a home he never left before, alone with one pokemon.

His words struck her deeply, only made to be more powerful by his acts of being courageous despite being uncertain as well.
He knew.
He really was a kind person.
She was very sure he was a prince.

Looking down at her wrist when there was a light tug from him, she blinked, feeling Kiss Kiss lean forward with a confident posture, and determined smile at Luke. Seeing Vahy'n on the gravel road, standing tall and refined... always to calm and confident, The light rattle of the beads hanging from her fin as yellow eyes watched the humans, and waited for her trainer.

At his tug, She looked back up at him, feeling the fresh winds from the wilderness beyond. Something the City never did get among all the tall buildings.
Her boot slid forward, followed by the 'crunch' of gravel, her lips softened as her features calmed.
"I want to keep moving forward to, and your right, The only thing I could ever regret is running away, and you've shown me that I don't have to"
She looked over to Vany'n, giving the pokemon a look that she didn't give any of her pokemon, as if she were more than a pokemon, but someone she looked up to.
"We're get stronger guys, all of us." She moved a smile over to Kiss Kiss.

Vahy'n eyes softened, in a gentle smile seeing Rosie had somehow managed to get back onto her feet.
Her eyes glanced over to the boy, lingering on him.

It seemed Luke wound up saying embarrassing things whenever he spoke with Rosie, but he could deal with it if she was feeling better as a result. He wasn't used to encouraging others, and he was even less used to admitting to his own insecurities - even to himself - but he didn't want to watch Team Rocket bully and kick around this girl. He didn't want to see them bully or kick around anyone, and if saying that he was a little scared of being on his own meant one more person working to fight back, then he would say it as much as he needed to.

"Good to hear," he said approvingly, setting his hands on his hips. "I guess I should learn to battle better, too. I've never really tried... Seems it's as good a time as any to figure it out." Most of this was said to himself as he became aware of the form of the luxury ball attached to his belt. Well, anyway, "Ready to get going then?" He would have taken the lead himself, but he had only a vague idea of their general trajectory.

Rosie hand reached up to scratch behind Kiss Kiss' ear, smiling fondly at the Pokemon as she closed her eyes with a drawn out " Chaaa~" Leaning into the hand and enjoying the attention.
"... Thank you Luke." She said, after a moment of watching Kiss quietly

she looked over at him as he seemed to be musing to himself, though she caught what he was saying, and she perked up considerably.
Nodding when he asked if they were ready to get going, she took a breath, and started forward again, taking more of less the lead to guide, but stayed next to Luke.

"I think training to battle with Mieu better would be a great Idea Luke, that way Mieu can defend himself if he needs to. if you want we can train together. Vahy'n really skilled, and she's been a treat teacher for helping me new pokemon.
The tone of her voice indicated that she very much supported this idea.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The city was coming closer to view, as she rounded the top of an easily sloping hill on the pathway, her Hazel eyes rose to meet the view of the tall buildings.
The corner of her mouth twitched a little, hands closing into fists in her pocket.
Apparently her family was staying in a hotel in the city while the house got repaired, it shouldn't be to hard to find them from the front desk.

She didn't have to much of a walk, so she didn't feel the need to speed her pace and hurry... not that she was in any hurry to get there anyway.
I twas around this time that she spotted a couple of trainers on the path in the distance, seeming to be heading away from the city, and toward her.
a blond girl and a boy with red hair.
She didn't pay to much mind... though the closer she got, the more families that girl was looking... and that Vaporeon she was with...
Oh.

"...No big deal," he muttered, diverting the thanks as casually as possible - though 'casual' for Luke in this instance was proving highly awkward by normal standards. He cleared his throat quietly and straightened himself up, attempting to salvage the dignity he was sure he had just damaged.

"I guess I could give it a try," he said with a brief sigh. "I don't like battles, but it sounds like it could be pretty useful." Sheltered though he was, he at least understood that it wasn't appropriate to resolve conflicts through the blade, though he wasn't sure why pokemon battles were so much more acceptable...

The approaching figure went largely unregarded, save for a momentary surprise that there was someone else traveling that path. He reminded himself of how full of people the city was, though, and noted that they couldn't all come by boat - the roads wouldn't exist if no one used them, after all.

She smiled at him, starting to be able to tell little behaviors from him, in the way he said things mostly.
Leaning forward a little as her hands folded behind her back again, she nodded.
"It is, I'm starting to see how useful its been. There have been times I would have been in much more trouble If it hadn't been for Vahy'n, and pokemon like to train, its good quality time."
She unfolded a hand, reaching down to pet Vahy'n who had take to walking next to Rosie again, striding between Rosie and Luke.

"Plus we can train together. I think we would be able to get a lot accomplished that way."
She liked this idea to. Having battles with trainers on the road was one thing, but she rarely got to actually train with another trainer before.

Vahy'n eyes suddenly widened. and she let out a sharp "Vaaporeon!"
This in turn caused Rosie to look up, curious as to what Vany'n had seen.
What she saw, caused the blond to gasp.
"Faleen!"

Standing, facing them in the pathway, stopped in her tracks was a dark blond women with hazel eyes, and typical Pokemon training fashion.
The women was older, but she bore a striking resemblance to Rosie in several days.
Faleen's own eyes were wide, blinking as it not expecting to see Rosie here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was Rosie. there was not mistaking this. Her insides grew cold as they drew closer to one another, Vany'n was with her to, and some other pokemon on her shoulder, a Pikachu.
It had been more than a year, almost two since she had seen Rosie, and even though Faleen let a smile cross her face as Rosie was running over, and Faleen opened her arms, having to catch herself from nearly falling backwards as she embraced her younger sister... Faleen would have rathered it be another two years before she saw this girl again.

Mm, well, he hadn't ever really considered that Mieu might like it... It was awfully infrequently that he considered Mieu at all, he realized. Whether it was food or comfort, he always offered the Flareon whatever he had on hand, and the fire-type never complained or showed any indication of unhappiness. It seemed strange to put too much effort into a pokemon, but then there was Rosie who seemed to value hers as if they were members of her family. Between the two of them, which was the more strange?

"Well... I guess whenever you want to, just lemme know," he said fiddling idly with the pokeball. If he had to train, he supposed, it would be best to do so with Rosie. The Vaporeon's sudden cry, followed by a gasp and a word - a name? - from his company drew his attention suddenly to the woman. He watched with a growing confusion as she ran forward and into the stranger's arms, standing at a comfortable distance while studying the recent arrival. They looked kind of similar, now that he was looking properly...

"Someone you know?" It was probably polite to join the two, but he chose to linger at a distance.

Kiss Kiss had hopped down off of Rosie's shoulder as soon as she had started running over to the stranger. hopping over to stand next to Luke, with her ears perked, and her head tilting to the side as her trainer ran over to the women. Clearly not knowing who this girl was either.
Though after a moment of watching, even Kiss' perked.
She knew Rosie had a sister, but Kiss had only ever seen pictures, and heard stories from Rosie. Kiss had never met the women before.

Vany'n was with Rosie, seeming to be just as pleased to see this women.

"Faleen! Oh my gosh, I can't believe your back! I missed you so much!"
Rosie, clearly overjoyed hugged tightly to Faleen, before pulling back, and smiling bright up at her sister.

"It has been a while, I missed you." Faleen replied with a much softer, refined smile. one of her hands reaching up to touch the ends of Rosie's hair. "You've grown, a lot since I last saw you, and you cut your hair."

Rosie giggled reaching up to touch her hair "You cut yours to."
She hugged Faleen again, before "Oh!" The young trainer turned quickly to look back over at Luke,
"Luke! Yes, This is my older sister." She explained, looking elated.
She held a hand out to him to gesture him over so that Faleen could meet her new friend.
"Faleen, She's been on a training mission in Kanto for the past year. Faleen, this is Luke~ he's new to Kodo."

Faleen's gaze lifted from Rosie, and over to the boy that she was with, looking upon him for the first time, having kept her eyes on Rosie.
The older blond fell very still and quite for a moment as she looked over at this boy, her eyebrows twitched up in a surprise that was mostly concealed.
... Asch?

He watched their exchange silently, growing more and more curious of their relationship with one another before it was explained. With a momentary reluctance, Luke stepped forward when he was cued to do so. Having grown up as an only child, it was somewhat strange to see the pair and acknowledge them as siblings who had grown up together. Or he assumed they had, anyway - that was what the stories always indicated.

"Uh, hey," he greeted curtly as he was introduced, returning the stare with his own of green. It was a bit unnerving to be stared at like that, without her even saying anything to describe what she was thinking while doing so, but he certainly wasn't going to back down or shy away.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 28, 2011 2:22 pm

Rosie stepped to the side when Luke walked over, reaching out to take one of Faleen's hands into both of her own, Looking over at the young man as he walked over to meet her big sister.

Faleen saw the look on his face, and this caused her head to incline slightly.
There was no mistake, as 'Luke' came closer, he had the same face, the same color eyes.
There were slight differences in mannerism. She was aware of the fact that Agent Asch was under Kunai, this meant he was on a job.
This brought up a few concerned, mostly to do with her possibly being an interference, as well as... why Asch was with Rosie.
Whatever the reason, Faleen knew she would have to act as normal as she could, not draw attention that she knew this boy at all.

Holding her hand out to him, offering a had shake "Its nice to meet you Luke. welcome to Kodo."

She continued to stare, even tilting her head a bit. Luke was on the verge of demanding the reason when she suddenly extended a hand, causing him to recoil slightly in surprise. "Ah--" Hand shake, right. He reached to accept the gesture. "Right. Thanks." So... Was this the point where the engaged in awkward small talk or suddenly joined up and walk in the same direction for a ways, or...? He meant no offense to Rosie for thinking as much, but the Faleen woman was somehow intimidating, and he found himself mildly irritated by this fact.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 28, 2011 3:45 pm

His reaction took Faleen by surprise as well, arching her eyebrows, giving him a puzzled look when he jerked back.
... He was really playing this part up.
Gripping his hand for a moment, to be polite.
once she let go she grinned a little, making a small noise like a single chuckle. Before she looked down to the Vaporeon.
"Vahy'n, you look as beautiful as ever."

The Vaporeon smiled, stepping over when Faleen crouched down and nuzzled into the eldest daughter's shoulder.
Her mistress would be so pleased to see that Faleen was alright, and home again.
Kiss Kiss, curious about this new women hopped up next to the Vaporeon, ears twitching as she peered up at Faleen.

Rosie smiled, watching Faleen greet their mother's pokemon, before looking over at look, giving him an encoring smile. She could tell this was a little awkward for him.
"This is such a nice treat. I didn't know you were coming home Faleen, Luke and I were just heading out for Makko town, I've got another trip to take for school." She explained to Faleen.

"I see" Faleen replied, in a very collected manner, glancing over at the Pikachu before she returned to her feet. Glancing over at Asch again, wanting to ask him why he was going along, but woried any unexpected questions might blow his cover.
"Well, I was heading into town, I wanted to check on you guys after I heard about the fire. I'll be shipping back out soon for Kanto again tomorrow."

Hearing this caused Rosie shoulder's to droop a little "your leaving again so soon Faleen?"

Faleen lifted a hand, placing it on Rosie's head in a very gentle and loving manner. "Once you graduate you'll understand what kind of commitment this takes Rosie. I have a lot of responsibility now that I must see to." She explained.

Rosie rounded her shoulders a little when Faleen touched her head, but glanced up with her large blue eyes... thats something their mother would say.
She smiled, and gave a small understanding nod. reaching up to take her sisters hand once again.
"Will you at least walk with us for a while? I won't make it back from my trip in time to see you off, and its been such a long time Faleen."

At this request, Faleen made another look to Luke "... If present company does not object... I can probably go as far as the mountain edge."

Why did she keep looking at him like she was so confused? It was making him confused. He played it off, though, hiding behind an expression of forced indifference. He wasn't going to let her get to him. Now it was a challenge.

He listened idly as they conversed, watching nuances and gestures with a mild curiosity. He made no outward reaction when Rosie asked the woman to accompany them for a while, but a slightly disdainful inward frown arose in his thoughts. He didn't know why she kept glancing at him, and that was a slight concern. But Rosie seemed to like her well enough, and he certainly wasn't going to object with her sounding so hopeful, "Sure, if you want." Despite the nonchalant tone, he purposefully avoided eye contact.
