His answer came maybe a couple of breaths too slow to be very convincing -- because the fact of the matter was that Ilmenite didn't know. He knew it was about earth, that the senshi were running around, alien invaders in human bodies, meddling in what should have been human affairs. He likely understood the moral ramification of farming people for energy, but he was also enough of a pragmatist that he didn't kill anyone, himself.
Deaths would achieve very little, and would only hurt everyone involved.
He drew in a breath. "Have you ever been in a fight where you knew you were in the right?"

"What about you?" Asclepius returned with little hesitation, though she was keeping her voice calm only with some effort. "Do you know you're in the right when you attack civilians and take their energy?"
At this point, it was not really Ilmenite himself that upset her so much as his words. Maybe she was not really willing to trust him, but still, he had planted the seeds of doubt. What if the Senshi of Medicine really was fighting on the wrong side? She had to prove him wrong somehow. Or at least try.

"Eh, I've had it done to me. It sucks, you recover. It's like...." He paused to think about that for a moment, his attention turned down onto the girl near them. She was definitely unconscious, sprawled, but her breathing was even, and it was warm enough that she was hardly going to freeze to death there. Hands in his pockets, now, he seemed relaxed. She wasn't going to attack...
"Like the flu, I guess, but with the guarantee that it'll pass. Eventually." Ilmenite raised an eyebrow, looking back up to her. "It's like stealing from Walmart. Never ending supply...you wanna see?"

The whole cosmic moral argument sort of shattered for Asclepius when the negaverser with the duct tape brought up stealing from Walmart. Sad if he thought it was somehow necessary, sadder if he thought it was just permissible and had no real need for what he took. Perhaps she might have been far closer to that sort of lifestyle once before, with her old life, but she was not sure she would have thought it alright to steal even then.
She was all about hard work and that sort of thing.
Rolling her eyes, she sighed and shook her head. "No thank you, I think I will trust you on that one," Asclepius told him, her tone taking perhaps a slight condescending edge.

His shrug wasn't quite so dismissive as it might have been, his expression appraising, not smiling now -- just considering her. Maybe he could see that he'd almost had her there, could sense when she went over from thinking and agreeing with him to that condescending edge. He couldn't, however, figure out what he'd said wrong. They were on par, in his mind. His parents, on the other hand, might have disagreed...
"...you can't very well say it's horrible if you've never had it happen to you." Dismissive, though, stepping back away from her again. It didn't really seem like he was trying to convince her, now. He was about done, if she wasn't going to attack. "Maybe it only tickles."

"Not interested," she replied, shaking her head and putting one hand on her hip. "But I guess I know where to find you now," Asclepius added, glancing around at the surroundings. At least she had had the moment to calm herself; though her mind was still on what Ilmenite had mentioned, the girl could at least pretend very hard that she was not bothered.
"I'll keep an eye out for you, and stop you if I must," she then told him. "I'm not interested in any killing, but I won't let you keep up with robbing people of their energy. Especially not here." Asclepius frowned, casting a quick glance back over her shoulder at the girl in the bus shelter. "If you're ever one hundred percent certain that what you're doing here is right and good, let me know."

"I don't think I ever claimed it was!" It came with a laugh behind it, his head still tipped to the side. Ilmenite should perhaps have been indulging in an existential crisis -- but he wasn't. He didn't really feel bad about it. This was the way the world worked and he was comfortable with it...
"Pretty sure that was your side." Louder, this time, as he moved away, one hand tossed up in something like a parting wave, not even looking at her now. Asclepius, at least, was not a threat.

Asclepius frowned, crossing her arms as Ilmenite waved to her and turned away. She followed him at a distance for a few steps then stopped, just letting him go.
She would see him again, she figured. And she hoped she would be able to leave their next encounter feeling a bit more sure of herself.
