"Ah, I see, well that would be an advantage." Indoctrinated. Well if it brought talent to the organization he wasn’t going to complain. “So what department do you work with?” Frost went on. “I know it is considered proper to say ‘if I may ask’ or similar but that has never made sense to me, nobody ever waits for an answer before asking their question. Mmh. In any case. You are of course not obligated to satisfy my curiosity, and I shall not be insulted if you do not; I know that some people keep their work quiet either out of necessity, or personal preference.”
At least the youth seemed to have calmed down a bit now, it would not have been enjoyable to be stuck listening to him rant and snarl until they were freed... Really, what were the chances of getting stuck in a lift twice in two days with identical brothers who apparently had nothing to do with one another? Perhaps he could figure out a way to calculate the odds later on, just for his own interest. He’d probably end up telling Xander about it too; he was sure his roommate would find it interesting.

"Surveillance and infiltration," Asch said with a sigh. This guy really did talk too much. Just asking the question was good enough, he didn't need nor want or hear Frost's rumination about it after the fact. "I'm a recent transfer," he then said, throwing in that extra tidbit of information. If anything just to keep some semblance of conversation going so the two of them wouldn't be bored out of their minds during the wait. He also figured that Frost would volunteer information about himself in due time. Not that he cared all that much, and was the reason why he didn't ask himself.

Not an area he was all that interested in going into. He'd be interested in hearing about it of course, but had had a feeling that a) really interesting things would be classified, and b) Asch wouldn't care to go into any detailed explanations. Still, he supposed he ought to try to make polite conversation about something.
"I'm a transfer myself," the blond said after a short pause, "I came over from Johto at the end of my training a few months ago. Where did you come from?"
He really wanted to ask the boy more about his brother, but that was clearly a subject that was Not On with the long-haired teen... Humm, did he dye it? Either he must or Luke must, and given Asch had obviously dyed tips it was reasonable to guess that the whole lot was dyed. That was a lot of hair to dye. He must go through a lot of bottles, and come to that he must spend a great deal of time brushing it every day. He couldn't understand people who kept their hair that long, but there were a lot of things about people he didn't understand so this was hardly a surprise.

That was a complicated question, considering Asch had been to several regions in his short time as an official Rocket member. "This transfer was from Orre," he replied, insinuating that he had moved more than once. In fact he had been to Johto at one point as well.
But no, it was best to avoid the subject of Luke unless Frost wished to have a cranky red head in there with him. It was perhaps top on the list of topics to avoid with him. As for his hair though, Frost's assumptions were, for the most part, wrong. Which Asch took very good care of his long hair, not a bit of it was dyed, and neither was Luke's. Just because they were identical twins didn't mean that they didn't have slight differences. Having grown up in different places and in different ways, this allowed for physical as well as personality differences. The slight difference in hair color could also be attributed to changes after the zygote had split inside the womb. All identical twins have differences, from very slight to the point where they look fraternal.

"Orre, humm? I can't say I have ever been," Frost said with a slight curious tilt of his head. "Were you there for long? Did you manage to see much of the area, or were you mostly on the base?... Excuse my curiosity. I like to know things, but I do not wish to step over the bounds of politeness. If you would prefer I didn't ask you anything else, you need only say so." Maybe he could visit Orre one day; there were a lot of places he wanted to see but hadn’t had the chance to yet. Perhaps once he was more established in the organization he could request to do tours of duty in other regions.

"Six months," Asch said, trying to remain patient as they waited. The mission in Orre had been his longest one, certainly. Most of the others had been much shorter and required hopping between regions. "I spent most of my time in the desert, which covers a majority of the region. It's a very remote with a small population and few wild Pokemon."
There was no response to to the offer that he didn't have to answer if he didn't want to. The agent seemed inclined to answer the grunt's questions for the time being. There was nothing else to do with his time at the moment, so long as Frost didn't overstep any of his personal boundaries.

"Mmh, I have heard that," Frost gave a small nod, "I suppose their rarity must make them a valuable commodity. Lucrative opportunities for us. Selling from lab created stock, selling stolen stock... stealing and having some kind of cover operation that specializes in retrieving your beloved pokemon for terrible thieves. For a price. I am not sure that I would like to live in a region covered entirely by desert though; it does not sound like a very good place to specialize in ice types." Skiron would be miserable without a chance to get out of his pokeball somewhere outside but relatively cool, and he did dislike making his four-legged friend unhappy.

"Yeah, but that's not why I was there," Asch replied. Indeed it made perfect sense for Team Rocket to sell Pokemon out there, and they did, but that's not what the agent specialized in. "I was there to gather information about Cipher and Shadow Pokemon, particularly XD-001." It was no longer a top secret mission, thus Asch was able to talk about it freely among Rockets. He would have to agree about the desert part though, he didn't particularly like it either. It was hot, and sand tended to get everywhere. It also made travel extremely difficult without certain hover vehicles that could cross the terrain.

"Ahh, I see," Frost nodded, an enthused light entering his pale eyes, "fascinating technology. I admit the alteration of pokemon has never been a field I've studied in any depth at all, but if there are some parts of the research on that project available for general perusal I would love a chance to take a look." Such power those pokemon had. He wouldn't consider doing something like that to Skiron even for a moment, but Persephone was fair game, and from what he knew he didn't think it would alter her personality all that much anyway.

It wasn't hard to notice the interest in Frost's expression and tone of voice. However, there was only so much that Asch could say since he wasn't actually in charge of the project and certainly didn't know about all the workings going on in the lab.
"You would have to get permission from the labs for that. Or question Agent Seth, since he's the only one here in possession of a Shadow Pokemon so far." Asch certainly knew of the elite agent, but hadn't yet had the opportunity to meet with him. Needless to say, word did get around about his disposition.

"Perhaps I will do either or both of those things," said Frost with a brief nod, "I have met Seth in person once... I'm not quite sure where his fearsome reputation comes from," the pale-eyed man added, his brow furrowed thoughtfully. "A terrible disposition seems to be almost all he is known for among the Trainees and Grunts. Mmh. He seemed a little harsh to me but hardly unfair; one does not form competent underling by patting them on the head and telling them what good boys and girls they're being every five seconds... I have rambled off on a tangent. In any case then, yes, I shall see what I can find out from the labs and from him if I happen to catch him with a spare moment." Not likely, but possible.
A moment after Frost finished speaking, the lift gave a couple of shuddering jerks and started to move again. No word came from the speaker; perhaps whoever was on the other end thought they had taken too long to sort out the problem and feared a tongue lashing.

"Heh, I've never met him so I couldn't tell you," Asch said as he stared boredly at the buttons next to the door. This was really getting aggravating, the longer they sat there. "But I've heard of his reputation as well, and I don't really care. He can do what he wants. You don't become an elite by accident after all."
The red head then shrugged, having little care for what Frost intended to do about Shadow Pokemon. Asch personally wasn't all that interested.
When the elevator jerked, the agent stood up straight and turned his gaze to the ceiling. "Its about damn time!"

“Well quite,” Frost agreed, “personal qualities are hardly important when talent is present... Ah, good,” the small man nodded as the lift began to move again, “I was starting to think I would be trapped in here for far longer than last time...” Perhaps he shouldn’t even have alluded to ‘last time’ given the boy’s reaction to mention of his brother. He hadn’t actually mentioned the brother, but he had mentioned the lift that contained the brother and for all he knew that was enough to get him decapitated.
As the lift arrived at its destination and the doors opened Frost gave the red-haired man, gesturing to the hallway; “After you.” Asch was his superior after all, and as such despite his youth and impetuosity he should be treated with respect. One did not advance so swiftly to agent for no reason, and even if one did it was only sensible for a grunt to show deference to one of a higher rank.

Asch's expression darkened again at the indirect mention of Frost's encounter with Luke. However, the agent didn't say anything this time. What were the odds anyway? That this guy would get stuck in an elevator with Luke, and then himself in such short a time?
Being preoccupied with unpleasant thoughts yet again, he looked to the doors as they opened finally. When Frost offered to allow him to go first, Asch wordlessly stepped past him and into the hallway. Having forgotten that this wasn't the floor he had been going to originally.

Frost stepped out of the lift after the Agent, pausing for a moment once he was in the corridor to watch the boy walk away. He was like and unlike his brother or at least that was his perception, he knew very well that his perceptions of people were often inaccurate... What were the chances of what had just happened? Well seen as he was going to his room he supposed he might as well boot up his laptop and find out. As he set off once more, however, he found himself thinking more about the brothers than the odds of it all. Luke, he decided, he had found to be far more personable but Asch... Asch was more interesting. He would have to keep an eye on that one.
