"Well, not illegally," Gently laughed, grinning, "but if you have a friend that can take you on a boat, and don't need to stowaway or latch on to the side like a barnacle, I don't think it would hurt to get some sea legs under you. Unless you're going to do most of your studying from shore, but even then, you said you were going out on a boat. So. Yes, the long answer is, yes. You should probably go out on some boats."

She laughed. Her babbling was in full swing, if only because Tabitha was also exuberant. And since their conversation would last only as long as it took them to walk, it made sense to jam as much conversation in as they could.

At Tabitha's question Gently looked very thoughtful.

"I guess I always wanted to be an actor when I was little. And I still do. One day, when I grow up, I might be one yet." She chuckled at that, shaking her head. She did consider herself an actress, in some rights, because she loved theatre and did act. But the professional part eluded her, from her dreams. She acted when she could, and because it was fun, but not for a living.

She explained this to Tabitha, adding, "but I don't mind it, so much. I've done a lot already, and I'm still young. I'll find a way to make a career out of both, acting and writing. For now, I don't need to be making money or out on broadway to love what I do in the theatre. I don't need to do professional plays, and sometimes I just help with tech and don't act at all. But I love every moment of it, and that's what's most important. Doing what you love."

"Awwww, but that's no fun. Where's the adventure in doing it the proper way? Like some super secret agent popping out from a crate, or someone's luggage. It'd be super cool! I could even have my own secret agent theme song!" She began to hum something like a cross between the James Bond theme and the Mission Impossible theme, an awkward combination that sounded kind of bad, actually. It may have been that she had one song in mind but couldn't remember which song went which way so she just...hummed every part that she remembered from both songs. Did she have any friends that could take her on a boat? Not that she was aware of. Maybe one of her grandparents knew someone who had, like, a little sailboat or something. A sailboat was better than absolutely nothing, right? And if she was going to be a scientist who studied the oceans and everything in them she'd obviously need to go to them. It made sense in both the short and long run. Nevertheless, the thought of latching onto the side of a boat had her laughing. "And then it'd be like, who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Tabitha St. George~!" Tabitha sang slightly off key to the theme song of Spongebob Squarepants, humming and holding her arms out on either side of herself as she hopped over a few puddles like it was some kind of game. It was similar to the game where you couldn't touch the floor because it was made of lava. The water! The water was lava! Kind of ironic considering who was playing the game.

Ohhh! An actor! Tabitha gasped with delight and grinned at Gently, eyes wide. If this were television they'd be sparkling. "Woooooow! Oh! Oh! You should, like, give me your autograph! So that when you become famous and stuff I can be like 'I totally know her. No really. See?' and then people can be like 'Holy cow no way! How did you meet her?! You are so totally awesome and amazing just like Miss Gently! You should arrange it so we can meet her and stuff!' See? But that's silly, Gently. You're already grown up...which means you just have to do it right now." Tabitha was grinning ear to ear, sounding completely serious in everything she was saying. She was very serious. She believed in Gently. If Gently put her heart into it? She could accomplish anything! Yup!

"Maybe you could write scripts. Or plays. Or screenplays. Or script play screenplays or...stuff, y'know? You can totally incorporate writing into the world of acting, right?" Tabitha fell quiet shortly after to listen to Gently speak, giggling as she did. Awww! Look at Miss Gently getting all passionate and squishy! She was so sweet! Tabitha's grandparents' house was coming into view now, though they would still have to cross a street and get to it. "Yeah, that's very important. If you're not enjoying it...then you're doing it wrong. Even the most mundane tasks can be turned into something you love, you know? Like um...washing the dishes! When I wash the dishes I like to fill the sink with soapy water, and then sometimes I act out silly little scenes with the silverware and stuff. It's lots of fun! Sure, we've got a dishwasher but I like to do my own dishes sometimes!"

Tabitha pointed ahead of them to the house she lived in. "We're almost there~. Thank you again, Gently. This has been so much fun! We should hang out again sometime!"

Gently lifted her eyebrows, frowning as the girl hummed what seemed to be a mash up of two agent theme songs. Then segued into an entirely different one. Life was better with a soundtrack, but Gently wondered if she might need to edit hers a little bit.

She had heard that joke before, of course. Any time she had been in a play, even when she was in high school, someone always seemed to come up with that. Particularly when the playbills were coming out, and they were getting theirs for posterity's sake. Surely she had made that joke herself.

When they were famous one day, indeed.

"Oh dear, I think you're right. I am grown up now. My time might be too far gone now, at the ripe old age of 24," she laughed at that, though she had never wanted to be famous anyway. Or she did, but had grown up and out of it. Or was just telling herself she never wanted to be famous.

As long as she was happy and doing what she loved, that was more than enough.

She laughed again, her face starting to hurt from all the laughing and smiling, but it was the best kind of soreness. She could just imagine this young girl playing at the dishes in the sink. Very easily, in fact. And it sounded fun. Maybe she would have to think about that the next time she was doing a sink of dishes.

"Oh! That wasn't too far. I wish I could say it was clearing up, as well, but the rain is still coming down. Ah well, leave it to nature to not make this like most movies. Rain stopping exactly when you get home. I'm glad I ran into you, though! It was very nice talking to you and I wish you all the luck in the world with your studies and adventures! I would love to hang up with you again sometime. Here."

Balancing the umbrella in one hand, though it was heavy, she dug in her pocket and found a business card to give her. It had her home number on it, as well as her number at the paper and the theatre.

"If you ever need to find me, or just want to hang out, those are all the numbers you'll ever need!"

Tabitha gave a nod, her own cheeks and jaw beginning to grow sore from the laughing and smiling. But she was used to this kind of soreness, and she would enjoy every minute of it. "That's alright! The rain did good today! And we need it anyway, it keeps plants alive and stuff. And it's very relaxing." She jumped over a puddle while being careful to stay mostly under the umbrella. This was a very nice walk home, she was glad for the rain now; if it hadn't been for the rain they wouldn't have had this walk together. It was fate plain and simple! Tabitha was a firm believer that everything happened for a reason. "And I'm very glad I ran into you too, Miss Gently! It was a very fun walk, we'll have to do it again sometime." She actually meant it, too! She wouldn't mind going on walks with Gently. They were fun so far! All one of them. She perked up a bit as she was offered a business card, reading it over with a small hum. Ohhh! So many phone numbers! She'd just have to store all three of these into her phone!

"Okay! Thank you! Oh, ummmm..." Tabitha pocketed the card and pat herself down in search of some kind of pen and paper, suddenly remembering she had a bookbag. Oh. Duh! She was coming home from school! Tabitha chuckled to herself and rolled her eyes, a grin on her face as she slipped one arm free from her backpack's straps to pull it around enough for her to dig out a notebook and a pen, scribbling her name, cell and home numbers on one of the pages and just giving the entire page to Gently. There wasn't any time to neatly cut it up and make it pretty like she normally would, though she did try to fold it with her hands as full as they were.

"And if you ever want to hang out with someone awesome like me, that's my number and my home number!" She chirped, putting the pen and notebook away. Once the backpack was hanging properly again she moved to throw her arms around the young woman in a tight hug, squealing with delight before she let her go. She was still grinning. "I'll see you later, okay? Get home safe~!" Tabitha then looked up at the rain. It hadn't stopped, and while it hadn't gotten worse it also hadn't gotten any better. She could do a few seconds in the rain. The girl hopped out from underneath the umbrella, being careful not to splash Gently as she took off to run up to her house, up the front steps and opened the door. She paused, turning to hang off the door knob with one hand while waving an arm toward Gently. "Call me!" She called out before she disappeared into the house, closing the door behind her.

Gently laughed as she took the large piece of paper, nodding her head. She looked at it in wonder, then folded it neatly and put it in her pocket. Maybe the neatness was just a show, as she was generally just fine with stuffing things into her pockets and letting them be a mess. she was organized in her own way, and as long as she knew where everything was that was generally good enough for her.

But she really didn't want to lose the numbers, or let them get wrecked. So it at least warranted some attention.

"I certainly do, so I'll be giving you a call sometime. See you later!" She had to pull her hand out of her pocket so she could wave, since the other was still occupied by the giant umbrella. She waved and chuckled, nodding her head and waving again at the order to call. And, of course, because it was rare to find enthusiastic friends who liked to goof around whether they were younger than her or not, she certainly would like to meet up with Tabitha again.

She waited until Tabitha was out of sight, then moved to head off toward her own home. The rain was letting up, but she left the umbrella open. It seemed to be a great way to start conversations.
