Normaly... a weapon like this was used on a target who was at a distance and unsuspecting, and not fleeing around the walls. this wasn't a valid excuse, and Faleen certainly wasn't going to pretend it was.
Ratata were quick, and it took quite a while for Faleen to get a lock on the pokemon, and then there was the matter of keeping with it while it scampered around. Her eyes narrowed softly, and for a while there was nothing but a steadily movement of following the Ratata's progress.
Seeing an opportunity, Faleen took it, pulling the trigger. This being the third time the rifle smacked into the same spot on her shoulder, she barely managed to stifle a yelp. The beam however, hit the ground behind the fleeing Ratata.
"Darn it." She hissed to herself, but not dropping the gun. Instead, she simply switched the side she was holding it, so that her opposite shoulder was against the rifle butt, to try again.
And again, the beam hit to late to catch the Ratata.

That was certainly true, but they didn't have the luxury of that this time around. Seth was looking forward to seeing the rifle in action in-field. Its full capabilities wouldn't be confirmed until then.
Seth watched with a frown as Faleen attempted, and failed, twice at capturing the Rattata. It seemed that he would have to enroll her in some... target practice. She didn't seem to be a capable shot, and that was a valuable skill in Team Rocket. He didn't care to have an agent that couldn't hit the broad side of a Wailord.
"That's enough," Seth said at last, his annoyance projected in his voice. But before he could say anymore, the agent that was due to arrive, did.
The door to the shooting range slid open and a young man with long red hair stepped in.
The sight of the boy drew an incredulous expression from Seth. Making his way back along the gallery again to where Faleen, and now Asch, were standing, he looked the boy over, sizing him up.
Was this Kunai's idea of a joke?!

Faleen was thinking about the same thing about maybe taking up shooting range practice. When the second hit missed, and Seth called for her to stop. Needless to say, that had been a bit embarrassing, and it was obvious from the look on her face.
Standing back up, with her left hand on the butt of the rifle, she glanced around when she heard the door, open, blinking when she recognized Agent Asch, surprised to see him here. "Agent Asch" she said, in a surprised greeting, before Seth walked over and looked down at the younger Agent.

"Agent Faleen," Asch said back in returned greeting, then looked toward the Executive. The red haired agent stiffened as he recognized the rank, and saluted smartly as Seth approached.
"So you're the one that Kunai sent to field test the rifle?" Seth asked with a snort, glowering down at the much shorter and younger agent. "Seems that she doesn't take me seriously if she's sending children to do a man's job."
Asch simply frowned at this as he returned his hand to his side. "With all due respect sir, I don't believe that is the case." His green eyes having to look upward at the man before him.
Seth lifted a brow, "Is that so? That rifle is as tall as you. You really think you can handle it?" His questions being given gruffly as he clearly doubted the abilities of this young punk with the stupidly long hair and outfit.
"Yes, sir," Asch then replied, completely unshaken by the derogatory comment about his height.

Normally she would have her hands folded behind her back, standing properly in silence as Seth scrutinized the younger... very confident Agent. Asch didn't seem to doubt his abilities at all, this intrigued Faleen,
But at the moment she couldn't seem to feel her arm, and any movement with it sent jolts of pain through her shoulder and arm. so she just held it still.
Eyebrows arching as she watched the Agent and the Executive talk, glancing up at Seth as well to see how he would respond. She was curious herself why Kunai would send someone young like Asch... but this would mean an opportunity to see the Agent in action, he was new, other then having a Zoroark she didn't know anything about him, or what he could do.

This agent was indeed confident and this gave Seth pause as he again sized him up. He then snorted, still not entirely convinced. He'd seen several arrogant idiots who thought they could do anything, and then proved they couldn't.
"Let's see if you're all talk or not, agent." He snapped, then jerked his head in the direction of the rifle that was now behind him.
"If you can catch that Rattata, then I'll allow you to field test it."
Asch wordlessly looked towards the rifle then back to the executive and nodded. "Yes, sir."
With that, he then walked past Faleen and to where the rifle was stationed. He looked it over and checked the settings, while glancing up to see the Rattata scurrying about at the far end of the gallery.
"Do you need me to adjust the tripod for you?" Seth jeered from his position as he observed the agent.
Asch didn't respond and instead of positioning himself to take a shot, he picked up the rifle from the tripod and braced the butt of the gun against his shoulder as he steadied the barrel with his other hand.
This drew an arched brow from the executive as he folded his arms, waiting to see what would happen.

Faleen didn't say anything, stepping back a little as she watched the Agent make his way over, take the gun. He held it differently than she was taught, this caused her to arch her eyebrows in interest, tilting her head lightly as she watched, eyes darting from Asch, to the Rattata that was still scurrying around the room.

Setting his feet apart, one in front of the other, to brace himself for what he knew would be kickback, Asch looked through the scope to find his target.
There was a few moments of silence as Seth too didn't say a word as he judged the boy's stance and how he handled the gun. The thing looked huge in the hands of such a small boy, it was ridiculous, and it wasn't light either.
Asch was patient. He knew that if he just started shooting, he would miss, and simply waited for the right moment. The Rattata seemed to be tiring of running around, and now that the humans were at a distance, he seemed to relax a little and paused to groom his face.
The agent's muscles tensed, his face set in a rigidly determined expression as he pulled the trigger. As expected, the beam shot forth and jolted the red head with the expected kickback. And even though it caused his body to lurch, he managed to keep his footing and kept the rifle steady enough for the aim to remain true.
The Rattata unexpectedly found itself engulfed in a bright red light before it was sucked clear across the span of 100 feet and into the nest ball that was held inside the rifle.

Well, he certainly showed her up, but even so she couldn't help a small smile when, with one shot, the agent managed to hit, and catch the Rattata in the ball. "Hum" She hummed softly, in a pleased tone, So he had skills with rifles like this, So he did have the skill to back up that.
She had caught when Seth said he was sent from Kunai, and from what Faleen knew of the pink haired Elite, she was head of the department that involved infiltration and special operations in stealth and information gathering. If he was part of her team, than she wouldn't be surprised that he had skills like this, and probably much more. Intriguing.
Moving the fingers on her right hand as she rubbed the palm, she glanced to the side, and up at Executive Seth, curious to see what the higher ranked Rocket thought of this.

There was a few moments of silence as Seth stood there, frowning, as the nest ball signaled a successful capture.
The ball was removed and Asch tipped the gun up to lean it against his shoulder, holding it with one arm as he turned towards the executive.
"Pokemon captured successfully, sir," said the agent as he tossed the ball in Seth's direction.
Catching the ball, the man snorted. "Fine, I guess you'll do."
Blue eyes tilted towards the female agent before looking back to the short red headed punk. "Agent Ewell will show you how to disassemble it. And I expect to get that rifle back in full working order! If there's so much as a scratch, there will be consequences."
Not waiting for a reply, Seth turned on his heel, getting read to exit the room. "I'll see you in development once you're done here." This directed to Faleen as he was glancing in her direction. Without another word, Seth left the room to see to other matters.

Faleen didn't at all enjoy the idea that there was something that she failed at, and in front of Seth no less, She knew she was going to need to work on it. But for now the rifle seemed to be in good hands, ones that Seth was satisfied with anyway.
"Understood Sir," She confirmed as Seth gave her her next instructions and took his leave. Turning back over to face Asch when Seth had stepped out. Holding her hands out in a gesture that asked for the gun. "If you'll step over here to the table, I'm assuming you've taken apart a weapon before?" It was a safe assumption, if he knew how to shoot one as well as he did. This rifle was different from a normal gun, but the basics would help him.

Asch merely watched in silence as Seth made his departure. It seemed that most of the higher ups here were strict and had a less than pleasant disposition. It wasn't by any means enjoyable, but he knew well enough how to deal with it so it didn't particularly bother him.
When Faleen spoke up, the red head's attention went to her. Taking the rifle in both hands again, he stepped towards her and held out the gun for her to take. "Yeah, I have," he confirmed before stepping up to the table once the "weapon" had changed hands.
A glance was given at the door before Asch folded his arms across his chest. "Heh. So that's your superior?"

Once he handed her the gun, she handled it carefully in a half cradle, looking it over as she gently placed it down onto the table. "He is, Elite Seth... oh well, Executive Seth now." She said with a smile as she looked up over at the other Agent. She didn't know he was getting promoted, and she was really happy for him, proud to be working for an Executive.
She started at the barrel, and worked her way slowly down, showing him the steps to disassemble it. "I heard Seth say you work under Kunai."

Turning his gaze back to the rifle as Faleen started to disassemble it, Asch gave her his full attention. The young agent committing each step to memory as he watched the process. Other than a few key differences, it didn't look any different from that of a normal sniper rifle.
"That's right," he said in reply to her comment. "I'm in the surveillance and infiltration department." This rifle might come in handy during some of his missions. That was probably one of the reasons why he was picked to field test it, along with his skills in weaponry.
"How many shots before the energy clip is drained?" It seemed like a reasonable question, and he could judge how many clips he needed to take with him.

As she disassembled the part that supported the Pokeball, she paused and looked more closely to its components, frowning thoughtfully to herself, she wondered why it was kicking back so hard with the lack of ballistic ammunition, something needed to be tuned differently... and she was curious as to what it was. At his question, the Agent reached for the clip that held the energy pack, showing that it was completely empty.
"The power packs average about four shots per clip, maximizing at five, that number can be lowered however, depending on the distance your telling the rifle to fire. The distance we were testing at today gave five." she explained. placing the empty pack to the side.
She finished disassembling it, the parts laying out over the table nearly, letting Asch look at them for a few seconds before she started to reassemble the rifle, though not bothering to go slow. Quickly and easily getting the weapon back into one piece. "I see, I haven't met to many from that department, though I suspect that's the point"
When she was finished the rifle was laid on the table again, the dark blond agent stepping to the side, "If you wouldn't mind, please disassemble it so I can be sure you understand." She asked politely, with a soft gesture of her hand.
