"That sounds unpleasant." Ever sounded strangely -- well, serious. It was true. Fighting Zac was certainly not something he'd ever wanted to do, not something he'd ever planned to do. He made a little face, tugging his feet back abruptly so that he could stand up.
"But if it'll prevent more broken noses and swollen jaws, yeah, might be a good idea." He got his a** kicked a lot. Not a new thing, since the corruption, but...more frequent. "Um. I mean, if you want to."

"I'm not exactly going to punch you in the face." he said carefully. " Just...Bring things you don't mind getting chalk on, we'll start with the basics. Then I won't need to fight you from on top of the monkey bars... Damn tall people."
His words were half turned to the book but he was hardly concentrating. "what time are you off?"

"Whenever." Tony wasn't much on enforcing the rules; mostly he seemed glad when Ever showed at all. He cleared his throat, shrugging and peering down at Zac, eyes briefly taking in the books in front of him before they flicked back onto his face.
"Just you and me?"

Zac nodded then glanced down at his nooks again and back. "unless you are worried that I'm going to lock you up in the Hillworth basement to test psychology information."
He chuckled softly and closed the book, "Let me put thIs back and we can head out, I know a good spot, I think I left some supplies there too." he fingered the book and stood carefully before returning the Book to it's shelf.
"if it helps, I don't like fighting either, but... I'd be pretty, upset... If you got really hurt and I could have prevented it."

That, at least, finally made Ever relax back into himself, a surprised smile creeping it's way across his mouth, hands in his pockets and the self-doubt melting away just a little.
"Oh, Zac." His voice was teasing, light, all but batting his eyelashes as he headed back to his cart. He could probably shelve everything on it in about ten minutes, if he really leaned into things. Not that he'd ever tell Tony that, when he could instead stretch the job into the full day...
"You do care." Except his breathy tone had gone choked by the end and Ever shook his head, disappearing around the corner.

He stood there for a moment to calm himself... the urge to yell things after Ever was... enormous, but this time he won the fight and followed behind him, pausing only to shoulder his book bag and heading for the front.
"Thank you sir!" He called to Tony on the way out the door before he opened the front door and went to sit on the steps till Ever caught up with him.
Under his breath he was humming, he didn't have the sheet music for what he was playing in his head, which was why he was humming, he waved one hand distractedly, the fingers bobbing slightly for each note...

So maybe it was more like twenty minutes, which left Zac humming and waiting for long enough that, perhaps, he'd stop paying attention to his surroundings. This time, though, Ever didn't try to sneak up on him; shrugging his coat into place and squinting up at the sky, he frowned a little at the possibility of rain. Well. April was April.
His steps were distinctive and pretty loud as headed out of the building and settled in next to Zac on the step, nose wrinkled up. He still wasn't looking forward to this. "Where to, then? Somewhere in mind?"

He was startled out of a show tune of all things that he was scowling over and tapping out on the head of one of the Stone lions... he wasn't at all satisfied with what he'd worked out so far...so he wasn't terribly bothered to hear the increasingly familiar clump of boots.
"There is this rattle trap of an old warehouse that pretty much gets ignored... not totaly...we might have to wait out some frat boys, but they stopped coming around as much after a few uh...accidents involving their snack food and um... over the counter laxatives."
He did a very poor 'innocent' look regarding that, actually he looked rather damned satisfied with himself.
"I have some sidewalk chalk we can use if you want to start with something where you can -see- what you are doing, or we can use open handed light touch sparring, or light cuffs, just to get you into it. I mean... you kinda hurled yourself at them before. Yeah you'd squash me but I could also pick you up if I were in uniform... and the senshi have magic." he explained as he lead the way.

"It's what I always do." Ever cleared his throat and fell in next to Zac, rolling his shoulders in a quick shrug and pulling a little face down at the younger man. He kept his hands in his pockets, fingers rubbing against fingers. They were still tender, but healing fast enough to surprise him, really.
"...it's what people least expect, I mean." That came with a little twitch of a smile, his head shaken and shoulder bumping up against Zack just a little bit. "Would you think some scrawny queer kid would fling himself across the table to come for your throat?"

"It's not a bar fight though... you saw first hand what they are willing to do, and they have ... magic or whatever you want to call it. "
He shook his head and sighed. "I mean if you're going to throw yourself at people...sooner or later you're going to latch on to the one who covers herself in...wheat stalks and shreds you like you took a header into a pit of razors."
Nasty but potentially valid point. "The fact you're armed with duct tape doesn't help much either, at least my starter weapon helped with escapes, and Scheelite could -kinda- hit things with his...even if it broke."

"...well, I can...tie senshi up with it, anyway." He looked away as he said it, and something about the evasiveness, the twitching of his eyes off of Zac, made it clear that he wasn't just saying that out of humor. He was speaking from experience. And he was suddenly realizing that Zac [or Zink, perhaps] would be annoyed that Ever hadn't already spilled the beans about wine-flinging senshi.
"It's more of an after battle thing, I guess...unless you have ideas?" That would divert, maybe, his attention flicking back. "How can I possibly make use of it?"

"... You tied up a senshi?" He said stutter stepping to a stop as he grasped at the expression on Ever's face... "Other than Lyra?... When was this?" He sounded impressed at least.
He did look considering about alternative uses for the duct tape. "When we get there... let me try something with it, if it works...I have someone who we can call in, he's used to ranged weighted weapons you might say... actually you helped rescue him. If he's feeling well enough I think it might be good for both of you."

Ever made a sound, shrugging at Zac and reaching out to settle a hand against the small of his back and nudge him into motion again. It was a light touch, careful, but -- but not really all that hesitant. Ever liked contact. He liked human interaction. Eventually, maybe, Zac would get used to it...
"We'll walk to the warehouse and you can look at you all you want. And, um, I'll tell you about that senshi if you promise not to yell at me for forgetting to mention it until now..." He pulled his hand back slowly, into his pocket, and wrinkled his nose at Zac. "I don't remember it very well, actually."

It would take time it seemed to break Zac out of the almost paranoid stiffening of the shoulders, like he expected to be punched or something absurd...or like he thought that human touch gave you the plague.
Well it sorta did if someone hadn't washed their hands but still, besides that he didn't really act like he had any kind of germ phobia.
"If I was going to be mad I'd be doing it already, mad is easy." He said as he shifted his shoulders and tried to make himself unwind again... but at least this time rather than locking his eyes strait ahead he cast a quick look at Ever just to gauge his face before continuing.
"Why don't you remember it well?" he asked curious.

He was tall. Mostly Zac got a good look at his jaw, eyes turned skyward, hair tumbling into his eyes absently, hatless today. His jaw was still bruised, but he barely even seemed to notice it, at this point. The pain had faded out to an annoyance and nothing more. If he'd caught Zac looking at him, maybe he would have done something, but as it was...
"...he kept, uh. Throwing wine at me." By the time he looked down, that quick glance was over. He flashed a short smile, almost apologetic. "And getting me drunk. Really drunk, really fast..."
