As best Luke knew, 'current' was an adjective that referred to something recent or on-going, and so the woman's words seemed to end without completing the thought. Irritated, he stepped back to his previous place, arms folded with a vaguely offended huff. If she didn't want to explain things, then fine. He just wouldn't ask anymore questions.

This did, however, leave him to fall to boredom exceptionally quickly, and his gaze wandered around the garage. His attention settled on the incomplete drone which he approached with a mild curiosity. What a weird looking thing... He couldn't help but wonder what it was used for. Or what it was supposed to be used for before it turned into junk, he mused spitefully.

Whatever the drone was, it looked sturdy. Thick plates of what could only be assumed to be some sort of plastic lined the majority of the machine, but its purpose was as of yet indeterminable, since it was being constructed, and not taken apart.

"... W-when was the last time you charged this?" Izumi gave an incredulous look to the new volt meter, whose dial was just as unresponsive as the first one. Either all of her meters were bad, the device's capacitors were blown, or the owner forgot to charge it.

Constructing and taking apart might as well have been synonyms to Luke, as they both implied a general sense of non-functionality. It didn't help that he didn't even know what the robot thing was supposed to do, and he was dangerously close to voicing that innocent little J word again when he was interrupted by a question.

"What do you mean, charged?" He was familiar with the word, of course, but he had little idea of how it was meant to apply to the mp3 player. The context, however, inspired a vague memory...

I've charged your mp3 player, Master Luke. It was a phrase he'd heard nearly every day but never paid very close attention to or understood the exact meaning of. Even so.

"Oh, you mean that thing. Yeah, no, not recently." Fake it 'til you make it.

Izumi sighed and began putting the machine back together, replacing the tiny screws holding the front panel to the back. "There isn't anything wrong with it. The batteries are dead, you need to charge it back up." It was hard to comprehend that there could be a person who didn't understand that you had to charge an mp3 player to keep it powered... it was like finding someone who didn't know that water was wet or that you couldn't have air bubbles in your hydraulics system. That was basic.

The beldum perched on the desk rolled its eye at the human-customer. How pathetic...
