Frighteningly Fashionable.. Riley took a deep breath, tried not to judge, and nodded. Well, here is a suggestion. It may not be your cup of tea, but why not join The Fitness Club? Now before you say no, think about it for a moment. She leaned in, not that she needed to do so to whisper. Jericho is one of my fitness instructors. He's in charge of helping people with their form and balance, and giving them tips on how to do things right. You could, let's say.. She drew the pause out dramatically. Need help with stretches. Or, maybe one of the machines. I'm sure he'd be happy to give you as much personal attention as you need.
She leaned away, and saved Lizzy's number on her phone. It's a thought. I hope all goes well with your conversation after this party you're planning, though. Ah.. Another thought occurred to her.
Have you ever played Dungeons and Humans, Lizzy?

"I like to shorten it to FFF, because the name can be a mouthful and I understand that... Uh, it's hard to take a club with that name seriously. Israfel and Belladonna named it, I believe," She giggled, like that would explain the name of the club. Actually, it would, if Riley had met any of the two aforementioned students.
"Actually, I met Petro the other day, and had decided to be more physically active-" She was about to continue when she heard the real reason why Riley wanted her to join. Her face turned red as she looked away; so that's what she meant by advice. And cheating. And ASDGDJSKAL- Right. There is no need to flail or get excited. Wait no, she's not excited. Horrified? Embarrassed? A mix of all three emotions?
"I actually just wanted to build up my stamina," She finished lamely; yes, joining the fitness club would help, but with Jericho there (and now, the "enlightenment" brought about by what Riley had just said), she was sure it would be a bad, bad idea. She would be distracted. And probably too embarrassed to do much by having him around, more so if he was an instructor.
"Ironically, I first met Jericho in a video game store. He was the one who sort of convinced me to get my first game," The change of topic was nice, although it wasn't really a change since they were still on the topic of Jericho, "He did explain to me what that is since there's a club based around it in school, but no... I've never played."

Judging by the blush, Lizzy had gotten her point. She nodded. Then you should definitely join. Building your stamina is important. Not only have we already proven how important it can be in those unfortunate circumstances, her hand brushed the thoughts of the island away, but stamina is also important when you're doing extra-curricular activities that may also involve Jericho. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, however. She tapped a few buttons on her phone, setting up a reminder to get Lizzy settled into the Fitness Club, before putting it away.
Now, I think perhaps I have an idea. Jericho loves Dungeons and Humans. He's very passionate about it. Riley hopped off of her desk, and moved to a set of bookshelves, pulling out several thin books. So what better way to catch his interest, than to suddenly be good at something he loves? You already have the video games in common, and I'll never understand those, personally. To each his own. She plopped the books down on the desk, and gave Lizzy and affectionate gaze.
So. Want to play a game with me? I will teach you the basics of Dungeons and Humans.

Extra-curricular activities that may also involve Jericho.
She had to stop herself from going into the gutter there (she had to wonder if Riley wanted her to go into the gutter though); the romance novels she had read didn't help. Perhaps mother was right... Those are bad for her. Frowning, she turned to stare at the ground; Riley was right about joining the club though, with or without Jericho there. Its not as if she would be able to do much by herself, after all, and it would probably be easier to uh, train with people who obviously know what they're doing.
"Oh? Uh, well... I am interested in how it works," She eyed the books before nodding, letting out a soft giggle, "But lets see if I'm still interested in it after this! With video games, I'm more interested with watching than actually playing sometimes, depending on the game." Besides, she wasn't going to get into D&H if she doesn't like it just for his sake... That would be terrible.

Riley set out a small map on the desk in front of her, and opened one of her books to make a 'wall' between them. She was still listening as she did this, and felt just a little tinge of precaution settle into her. She knew many people found the game dry, compared to those flashy, animated video games everyone liked so much.. the last thing she wanted to do was bore Lizzy out of liking something Jericho cared for. This may not have been the best idea. Or.. she just had to make sure it was.
Well, I'll be simplifying a lot of things simply because it's just you and me. First of all, everyone takes one of these character sheets and fills them out. Don't let it deter you right now, though.. I have a few premades characters. Half the fun of the game is making up your own character, though.. I'll let Jericho teach you the finer details of that activity if he ever gets around to showing you the game himself. She handed Lizzy a small stack of papers, which had several choices of characters she could play.

"So... It gets more complicated with more players?" Her gaze lingered on the map in front of her for a moment longer before she looked up, muttering a soft 'thanks' as she took the papers. She mentally read the first piece, and then the second, before deciding she would leave things up to fate instead. Randomly, she pulled a piece of paper out from the middle of the stack and placed the rest of the papers at the side.
"Are there rules to making a character?" She looked up from the premade character sheet she had picked out, frowning as she started to twirl a lock of hair around her fingers, "Or can it be... Randomly filled in?"

There's lots of rules. Riley chuckled. And dice rolling. A lot of rolling. Can you tell why Jericho loves this game so much? She winked and took out a set of dice. But I gave you a pre-filled sheet, so you don't have to worry about any of that. All your information is already on there. She snatched the paper from Lizzy's hands as gently as she could, and took a look at the choice she'd made.
Level 3 Human Hunter - and mind you understand, you're not a human who is a hunter. You are a hunter of humans. So many newbies get that confused.
She put the paper down in front of Lizzy, and pressed her finger against the six stats written out in a row, pointing at each one as she spoke. These are your statistics. Intelligence, Charisma, Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, and Wisdom. Each one determines what kind of character you are, based on your strengths and weaknesses. For example.. if I were written down as a character sheet, I would have high intelligence and charisma. If Jericho were written down as a character sheet, he would have high constitution and strength. Your character has..
She bent her head sideways to read it. She has high dexterity, which means she is fast, and flexible. She also has a strong constitution. Among other things, she cannot be poisoned easily - and she can drink her weight in alcohol without passing out. Riley chuckled. I think I would have a rather low constitution, personally.
She handed the paper back fully to Lizzy. The character sheet also tells you how much health you have, what kind of weapon you have, and armor - as well as other things we won't worry about for now. All of this comes into play if you get into a battle. There are lots of battles in this game, though there's usually an interesting story to go along with them. We'll skip the story for now, to save time, and just say - you are an adventurer looking for a few humans to hunt. Unfortunately, humans are not the only things in this neck of the woods. So, you'll probably have to fight your way through monsters, as well. Vicious game, D&H. Shall we play it?

"I think I can," She chuckled softly, nodding as she stared at the set of dice Riley had brought out; the 6-sided dice were a familiar sight, but the rest... Jericho had something similar on him during the Scarentine party, a 20-sided die that played a part in his FEAR. Now that Riley had mentioned dice rolling in the game, she also remembered him saying something about these special dice being used in D&H to find... A percentage?
"A Human Hunter... And Level 3? Is is possible for the character to level up during the game? What other races exist in the game, other than humans?" She reached out for the piece of paper, reading through it to try to get herself familiarized with the terms used - simple enough words, but they are the stats that make up a character? A story to accompany the game? Battles? This is kind of... Exciting.
"Yes please! Do you have a character sheet too?"

Lizzy seemed more than willing to get involved in getting to know how the game worked, and Riley took that as a positive sign. She tried to answer all of her questions in order as they were given, though there was the inclination to skip ahead when questioned about her own role. She held back.
The goal of a character is to level up, so that you become stronger, gain more skills, and are able to manage harder battles. It is.. perhaps similar to graduating here at the school. We will continue to gain more power as we achieve our next year of academic progress. In the game, however, leveling up is far more interesting than taking classes. There are hundreds of different races in the game. As you can see from that bookcase to your left, she gestured loosely with one hand, those are all books that explain all of the different races in the world. Humans are the main threat in our campaign, but the variety of creatures you may encounter in your journey are vast and often quite surprising. I daresay there is a campaign where you must do battle with a mindflayer. Her eyes slit just slightly in dark amusement. Lucky for you, we won't be playing that campaign, here.
She patted the book she was holding up between them. This is my character sheet. I play every type of monster and obstacle you are going to face, therefore all of the information that I will need is put into this book, for my eyes only. It also has information on environments, and of course, the loot you might achieve from victory in battle. She rolled her eyes slightlly. That's Jericho's favorite part.

"Oh... That campaign sounds interesting," She smiled, looking at the bookshelf when it was gestured to; she never knew that Riley was so... Interested in this game; part of her wondered if she got into the game before she enrolled, or before... After all, before she attended Amity, she didn't even know that such a thing existed! Would it be weird to assume that that would be the case for some others as well?
"Ah..." Her gaze shifted momentarily to the book before she giggled, leaning against the desk, "He really is a dragon... Well, shall we start then? No better way to learn than to do, yes?"

So eager. Riley purred in approval, as she flipped a few of the pages of her book and settled herself into her chair. Very well. Let us begin.
One of her tentacles had reached out behind her, and with a snap the bright lights of the room were shut off, leaving only an eerie glow cast from the window outside. It was more than enough light for Lizzy to read from, but it was still a nicer mood setting than the bright lighting of her lamp.
Not to mention, as Riley brushed her claws against the dice, they began to glow an odd, muted blue. Her dice were made of psionic crystals. Jealous much, Jericho?
Welcome, traveler, to .. ah .. Malodoria. She put some emphasis on the name of the city she had just made up off of the top of her head, with no influence from anything at all. Really. You have traveled a long, and difficult road to reach the city gates. Before you are two stout guards, looking quite sternly at you. It seems the city is on lockdown, and they do not intend to let you pass. What do you intend to do about it? Your choices are limited only by your own imagination, but the more obvious ones include trying to reason with them, bribe them, or simply kicking their asses.
She steeped her fingers and waited for Lizzy's response.

She didn't expect Riley to dim the brightness of the room, but judging from the first sentence of the game, she could see why; it does seem fitting to play this game under such a setting. Her face lit up when the dice started to glow; its so pretty... Pulling the chair she had been sitting on before to the other side of the desk from Riley, she made herself comfortable as she listened.
Malodoria, Malodoria, Malodori- Malodore?
She grinned to herself at the realization before considering her options; hm... Bribing is bad, right? Then again, they'll probably be difficult to reason with and attacking them might make her a target for the rest of the city guards... There was also the risk of her HP dropping too much from being outnumbered; what's the level of those city guards anyway? Should she ask, or was that supposed to be a mystery? She frowned, tapping a finger against her chin thoughtfully; what to do, what to do...?
"Ask why the city is on lock down," She finally answered; perhaps knowing more would help her in making a better decision.

Lizzy was taking her time, and thinking out every possible option. She was weighing the pros and cons, and Riley could tell all of this just by watching her expressions. It delighted the mindflayer, to watch Lizzy live up to the expectations she had already placed on the ghoul. Riley's eyes thinned, and she watched, just a little more intensely than she normally would.
When Lizzy finally chose her answer, Riley's eyes flashed briefly in approval. A gruff, male voice echoed into Lizzy's mind - the best part about having an Illithid GM a D&H game for you, was that she did not do terrible voiceovers for the characters. All of her characters sounded absolutely real.
The city is plagued. The guard replied. Our children go missing every night, and no one is allowed in or out until we have discovered the reason for this mysterious plight. That includes you, traveler. Find somewhere else to rest your head this night.
Riley's smooth, casual voice returned. What is your next decision, now armed with this information?

Lizzy shivered at the voice in her mind; she could almost imagine a gruff, armored man standing in front of her... Preventing her from continuing on her journey. While it made sense to keep travelers out, if their children are disappearing for some unknown reason, wouldn't it make sense that the culprit would have a way in and out of the city other than through the gates? She paused momentarily before tilting her head; attacking now would be bad. Bribery doesn't sound like the answer to her problem, especially since there are two of them... What if one of them declined?
... Was she over thinking things?
"Reason with them - tell the guards that I had traveled a long way to get here, and if I were not allowed into the city, how about allowing me to spend the night say... At a guard outpost? They must have one, right?" She finally made her decision, although she looked slightly uncertain about her own decision. By staying near the city, she might find out more about the mysterious vanishings... And hopefully help solve it for a ticket into the city.

As her response, Riley handed Lizzy a 20 sided dice.
Roll a charisma check. She stated simply. This will determine whether or not your reasoning succeeds, and what appropriate level of success.
Riley glanced briefly at Lizzy's character sheet, noting that her CHA was at 11. She took this into account, and waited for her roll.
