I heard Eternity explained this way as an idea to how long it really is in time.
Imagine a bird, the smallest bird you can perhaps a humming bird.
Imagine it was tasked with taking every clump every spec every bit of dirt and transfering it to a new Earth, flying from the old Earth to the new Earth a bit at a time.
By the time that Humming Bird had finished taking every bit of dirt from old Earth to the new Earth it would only still be into the first few seconds of the morning of the first day in all of Eternity.
Consider what Eternity may mean for you......................

I believe that there is a heaven and hell because if there was no hell then where does evil go to when there is no hope for evil to prosper.
