Saluki tensed, his head jerking to follow her sudden leap to one side. He then noticed the blur of fur lunging for him again and he cursed loudly. She was fast! But he tried to be quicker.
He felt fur brushing against his cheek and knew that he had mere milliseconds to act. He jerked his head in hopes to thwak his head or horn beneath or even against her ribcage... or better, send her flying over top of him and force her to land on the ground harshly. Both were very good outcomes and he only hoped his spirits were with him enough to make either happen.
He could clearly see the lust for his blood dancing in her hungry eyes and that alone scared him enough to not entirely think twice before acting. If he could just injure her... he wouldn't have to worry about a dead Soquili on his conscience. That was the last thing he needed right now. There was no way he'd be able to stay sane if he were to do such a thing.

Too fast! How could this be? Samsara twisted midair and tried to use her agility to get out of the way but it was only partially successful. She was struck with his head but was knocked away from him instead of over. For the second time in that fight she was sprawled on the ground and gasping for air. She didn't like this. She didn't like this one bit.
She pulled herself to the feet and staggered away a few steps, baring her fangs at him in case he should thing to attack again. She was in pain now. She wasn't used to being hurt. Even her father had never hurt her like this. None of her prey had either. Skinwalker though she was, she let out a high pitched noise of pain and took another step away again.

Saluki couldn't believe his luck. He felt teeth and claws graze him again but he obviously put this creature in a world of pain. He wanted to apologize to the poor thing for injuring it, but at the same time... she was intent on killing him! So he held back his words.
He flicked his tail wildly as he stomped another single step approach in her direction. He didn't want to do any further damage to her unless he had to. If he could avoid it, he would.
"I'll tell you again... Get. Out. Of here..." he snorted, accenting the word here with another forced stomp to dare her further. He continued to keep his horn focused on her. He could charge, but that might give her the advantage. He already had enough close calls tonight to far surpass his liking.

Confused rage filled her as she took another step back. How could this have happened? She was a skinwalker! She was the nightmare that foals had in the dead of night. She was the whispered story that soquili told each other when the winter days grew dreary. She was what every creature should fear and yet she was backing away from the unicorn.
"I'll come back and kill you!" She hissed the empty threat but tried to make it real. At the very least he should dread her return. "I'll kill you and all you hold dear!" She was backing away faster now but never took her enraged eyes off him. "I'll make you watch as I tear into them!" These were the sorts of things that skinwalkers said in the stories and so she said them to him.

Saluki puffed his chest to make himself appear more bold. "And I'll be waiting to drive you away..." he nickered gruffly back, taking yet another forced step forward. His shoulders quivered weakly as he continued to hold his strong and unmoving stance.
His heart nearly gave a leap at the sight of her seeming to make a motion of backing down, especially when she started to toss out all those threats. Problem was... he wasn't sure if they were true threats or just words spewed to give her the thought that she still had some pride in the situation. The statements all sounded very cliche, but... she was just too menacing with her tone to determine the difference.
And he may have sounded brave, but inside he was dreading such a day as the one she spoke up to come. He held alot of things dear at the moment. And there were more on the way... But, how was she to know about them unless she had been watching him for a while?! He would have to watch his tracks, tail and keep an ear focused behind him from now on.

With one last snarl Samsara tore off into the undergrowth. She was filled with rage and humiliation. She couldn't even kill a uni. She had drawn blood but blood wasn't enough! She was sore and beaten while he stood there mocking her with his eyes. She wanted to tear him apart! She wanted to tear the whole world apart! She lunged at a tree and mauled it with her claws while pretending she mauled him.
She didn't think to consider that this was her first attempt to kill an adult soquili. She didn't ponder how she could have done it better and succeeded the next time. For now she was simply torn apart by feelings of her own inadequacy. If she couldn't kill a unicorn there was no way she could kill her father.
She stopped mauling the tree and started walking again, moving steadily away from the area of the encounter. She couldn't kill her father. He would live with the injustice he had done to her and she could do nothing. She had to get stronger, somehow...

((That sounds like a perfect ending to this chapter... don't you think? I'm afraid to add any more to it. XD I think your post ends it best. ;3 Let me know if you want to RP another encounter or something at a later date.))
