He snarled at her, whipping his tail back and forth. "I don't care about your type. I merely said you aren't mine. I like pretty girls, and to hell if your one." Lies, he actually found the 'Deava to be rather pretty. This didn't matter anyway. He had been mated once before, and she had ran away when he stopped pretending to be someone else. He remembered that time. When he could hide his aura, never show his teeth, and force his eyes wider so much it hurt. It had become to much, and when he relaxed she had fled.
Stupid women.
This brought bitterness to him, and his insults rose. "Bet your used to being rejected though, aren't you?" Oh god, why was he doing this to himself?! He wanted to give her that flower near his foot, to apologize, but instead all he could do was snarl and hiss.

Sayre's heart felt like it stopped and it felt like she flew into a brick wall. She had a strict rule about crying around others. But this was too much for her. How did he know about her rejection. The rejection of a Daeva... Even worse... The rejection of a son and the scum who impregnated her. Sayre felt the water in her eyes, she tried to fight them from falling, but she couldn't. Ugly and rejected... She just stood there looking down at the ground, the tears rolling down her cheek, she wanted to move, fly away, something. But her wings were limp against her side, her body was stiff yet she felt like collapsing.

What had he done?! She was crying now! She was hurt! He wanted to apologize, wanted to tell her he was sorry. That he was just a jerk. Instead, he shook his head, scowled, and flicked his tail. "Look over there." He ordered, tail wrapping around the flower near his foot. If she looked away he'd give the flower to her. Anything to make her just stop crying. He wanted to help, but, it just wasn't in him to do so when she was looking.

Sayre sighed depressingly. Why should she even bother doing what he said? She looked in the direction he said to. That way lead back to the desert. Home was starting to sound like a great idea to her. She could curl up in her cave and just stay there. In Sayre's sad state of mind she thought it was a brilliant idea. She shakily started in the direction she was pointed to.

s**t! She was leaving!
Quickly, he scooped the flower up and placed it behind her. When he withdrew from it he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, worry vanishing into harshness. "Aren't you going to pick that up?" He questioned, tail sweeping across the ground to cover himself, his aura withdrawing. Why did he have to do that?
His narrowed yellow eyes flicked to look away, grumbling in his chest. He just hoped she would pick the flower up.

Crap. Did something fall out of her fluff? Could it have been her gem? Sayre slowly turned around but stopped. Her paw was about to come down on a yellow flower she had never seen before. She blinked at it then slowly picked it up. It was lovely. She looked over at the male then back at the flower. She sat down and carefully slid the flower behind her ear, but when she tried to leave a gain her butt refused to leave the ground.

Jack watched her stay, smirking absently when she put the flower near her. He didn't know what to say, so instead he just huffed. "Why'd you cry?" He asked. He was curious, obviously he had hit a nerve, but what? He wanted to make it better, but how? Silently, he sulked, waiting for her answer. Really, how much more of a jerk could he be? Answer was, a lot more.

Sayre couldn't look the male in the eyes. "Cause you were right... about the rejection... " She looked away to the side, What did he care, he brought her from a proud strong Daeva... to a broken down pathetic thing. She might as well tell him... "I fell in love with a Daeva... got rejected... Got knocked up by someone... had two son. I kept one and that good for nothing and my other son rejected me too..." Sayre clenched her eyes shut. Now you're rejecting me too...

Jack eyed the vixen, unsure what to do. He wanted to apologize. Wanted to help her. Instead, he jerked his head to the side and scowled. He could help her the best way he knew how.
"Stop crying." He snapped, looking at the vixen. "So what? He rejected you? His damn loss. The punk probably didn't know what he was missing." He snarled, tail wrapping around him. "Watch him get rejected. Watch no one love the a*****e. And the male that knocked you up and rejected you with your son, well, forget him. Things happen. Painful thing happens." He turned to the side, staring at the side.
"You'll find someone one day. You'll find someone worth your time. You are pretty, you don't look like a freak. One day you'll find someone. So stop crying."

Sayre eyed the fox. She was getting mixed signal from him. At first it was almost like he was trying to hurt her. Now he is trying to make her feel better? She sighed. "Make up your mind. You say all these things... and now its like your taking it back almost... Like... you call me ugly. Now you say I'm pretty." She took her paw and rubbed it across her eyes. "Fox to Fox. Just tell me what's really going on."

Jack scowled at Sayre, flipping his tail. Like hell was she going to tell him. He leveled his gaze with her, huffing and snarling. "Girlie, I have nothing to explain to you." He snapped, eyes flashing a flicker of hurt before he glared at the flower. "Hmpf, it doesn't even look like nice." He snapped at the vixen, grumbling.
A rain-drop hit his nose, causing the male to scowl darkly. "Great, rain."

"Rain?" Sayre looked up, she hasn't been in rain for years, her usual home in the desert never got rain, not like this. The other foxes comment about the flower didn't bother her and a smile spread on her face, she actually enjoyed the cool rain. "If you don't like it I know of a cave near by." She eyed the male he seemed to not like the rain. What does he like...

Jack's eyes flicked to look at her, tail jerking to the side. He knew of a few caves, seeing as he lived her currently. Though not for long. He grumbled, hair flopping into his eyes before he briskly brushed past her. "I know of a cave nearby, but to hell am I bringing you with me." He snapped, eyes narrowing even more as they darkened.
"I could care less if you found shelter." With this he swiped the flower from her hair, crushing it under his paw and grinning cruelly at her before heading off into the forest. Inside the tiny part of him he was suppressing let out a whimper, his conscience screaming out at him.
'Stop it!'
(( I was thinking, Sayre can't find a cave and the rain hits down hard. She can't fly because her wings get heavy from the rain, and she starts to get sick then passed out. Jack finds her in the morning and takes her to the cave he found himself. ))

Sayre sighed. Why was that everything he did made her hurt. Yet she still wanted him not to go. She looked down at the crushed flower and placed it back in her hair. The rain started to come down harder and it got cold. Fast. The cold was starting to constrict her lungs and it was difficult to breathe. She tried flying but the rain was heavy against her wings. Sayre was getting scared. It was heard to see with the lack of sun. She couldn't find the caves. Sayre ran, only to trip on a branch. Her paw stung as she laid in the mud. It just got colder and Sayre started to cough. She slipped the flower from out of her hair. A loud thunder cracked and it made Sayre cough, jump and hit her head against the trunk of the tree. The force knocked her out.

Jack would swear later if asked that the reason he had ventured back out was not because he was worried, but, wanted to make sure the 'Deava had left his forest. So, when he found her knocked out in the rain and he dragged her to his cave it was not because he felt horrible for letting her sit in the rain, no, it was because he didn't want her to set fire to his forest. If asked why he had brought her a rabbit it would be because he hadn't wanted her killing his entire forest to feet herself.
So, when morning arose and he was laying down by the front of the cave watching that no one entered, he would claim that it was to make sure she didn't steal anything from the cave.
