Thoughts: Teams… eh…

Orchid woke with a sour taste in her mouth. The young Latina truly had absolutely no idea how to feel about today. She would be placed on one of the junior teams, the Omegas to be exact. On the one hand, it would give her an opportunity to learn to control her gifts better, and therefore allow her to grow more powerful than she already was. On the other, was this what she truly wanted? To be an X-Man? She’d never wanted to be a hero; just the opposite. And that’s what they were supposed to be, right? Heroes working for the equality of human and mutantkind…

It was a laughable idea, that human and mutant could ever hope to be equal. There were mutants alive with the power to destroy entire nations, create new universes, and alter entire realities… who else could claim this but God? Mutants would always be superior to the weaklings calling themselves humans. Evolution had its dead ends, and that was clearly what homo sapiens were. Those dozens upon dozens of foolish politicians waving their agendas around within the past few days were right in every sense. Mutants should be feared, as any deity should be.

She stared at the ceiling for a few moments and let out a sigh. She wasn’t so much nervous as ambivalent. How would she mesh with the others? Were they of the typical bright-eyed variety? Were they total dicks? Did they think along the same lines as she did? Did she even care? Whatever happened would happen, and she supposed she’d simply allow things to unfold and adapt to them. She sat up on her bed, extending two long locks of her prehensile hair to push her sheets away from her with a bored sigh, then stood for her morning routine.

About a half an hour later she found herself making her way toward the student lounge. She was dressed with a black theme today, finding herself in a black dress of her own design accented with a black corset, with matching hair and make-up. She walked in a confident stride that was typical of the young prima donna.

Stepping into the lounge, she paused for a moment, arms crossed, to look around. She was looking for someone by the name of Narcissa, codename Solaris. She had no idea whom the girl was, nor did she care. All she’d had was a physical description. Her eyes narrowed as she mentally listed off features. Blond hair? Check. Tiny? Check. Overall bitchy disposition, with a look of utter contempt permanently(and possibly surgically) plastered to her face? Triple check.

After that bit of detective work, the (currently) brunette approached the fiery blond and offered, with a bored expression,
”I am Orchid. I was told to report to you?”

Robert Mason Jr.

Alpha - Team
Student Lounge - Location
Meet 'n' Greet - Currently

Robert couldn't believe how quickly his last year had flown. From being enrolled in this "School for the Gifted," to redoing his senior year of high school, and now this: being promoted to one of the Junior X-Men teams. Apparently he had "demonstrated exceptional control of abilities, above that of his peers," which apparently translated to extra attention and a bucket load of responsibility, even if he was still just a new kid on the block. Like directing fire with his mind was hard. At least they hadn't tried to push the whole "one big happy family" on him like he was expecting. He had to be honest, that was quite refreshing actually.

As the five-foot-four pyrokinetic made his way into the student lounge, the first thing he noticed, other than the small number of people, was the air of confidence and professionalism that often led itself to those experienced at their job. For Robert, that translated to feeling like he was a midget walking into a room of giants. Well... somewhat more than usual at least. Kind of why he preferred to avoid the awkward meet and greets, so this time he had himself focused on the facts. He was a newly enlisted Alpha, here to meet the team lead, Isabella, along with any other Alphas that decide to show up.

His eyes scanned the room as he tried to figure out just who exactly it was he was supposed to meet here. First he saw the blonde on the couch, reading a magazine, obviously not an invite for a conversation, with a sweat-drenched guy in close proximity, standing at at least six-foot. Midget amongst giants indeed. Moving on, Robert then noticed another woman in a chair, though focusing on her nails. Then he saw the pair gathered around a woman, sitting in a love seat, with a clipboard. At least those two were a little closer to his height. He slid in next to them as they both introduced themselves, offering him his cue.
"Robert Mason, apparently I'm with them," he offered with slight formality as he motioned to the previous pair.

To say the last six months for her was anything short of a whirlwind would be an understatement. Alexandria had been more or less forced by her parents to move to New York to attend classes here at the Institute. They said she needed ‘structure’, someone or something to guide her. She thought otherwise, obviously. She was liking her new friends she had made months prior back in Houston. They were an interesting bunch, though they had all the looks of the wrong crowd, she knew they were all good people. If they weren’t, she’d not have struck up a friendship with them.

Alexandria had kept to herself mostly, just trying to adjust to a new time zone and trying to adjust to being a resident at the Academy. She did make a few acquaintances amongst her peers on the training team she was placed on, but that was it. Just acquaintances.

Today was different though. Most of her teammates were offering her words of congratulations as she was making her way to the gym. Alexandria thought that was odd, why would they be congratulating her? She didn’t do anything special at all or so she thought.

Letting that thought escape her mind, she fell back to doing something that completely emptied her mind from all thought: hitting the heavy punching bag. Punches, open-handed strikes, and kicks were all leveled at the apparatus but she didn’t get much of a workout in. It was just when she was starting to feel a decent sweat come on when she heard a voice pipe up behind her.

”There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” It was her team’s instructor, Kitty. But why was she looking for Alexandria? Was she in trouble?

Good morning, Ms. Pryde,” Alexandria said as she put her hands up to catch the swaying punching bag. “If this is about hitting Andreas with the shaving cream towel… well, he had that coming.”

Kitty smirked a bit before laughing. ”No no. It’s not that. And I’m sure he did have it coming. I was just wanting to inform you that you will no longer be on my training team.”

When Alexandria heard that, her heart sank to her feet. Out of anything she liked at the Institute, she liked being on Ms. Pryde’s training team the most. Even though she wasn’t the best of friends with her teammates, she did like them. “Wh…why? What’s going on? Am I getting kicked out?

”Not at all,” Kitty said, the smile on her face beaming, ”You’re being promoted. As of now, you’re on the Alpha squad. You’ll be under the command of Isabella Stone. Hurry and get cleaned up. There is a meet and greet session in the lounge that I suggest you attend. It’ll give you a chance to meet your new teammates and leader.”

Alexandria breathed a sigh of relief before fidgeting with her lip ring briefly. It was definitely a good thing that she wasn’t being expelled but a promotion? So soon? Hopefully she just wasn’t going to be another warm body amongst the others. “Thank you, Ms. Pryde,” Alexandria said before stealing away to get cleaned up.

“Good luck, Lexi,” the aerokinetic heard before disappearing from plain sight. Apparently, there was now something to do today aside from training team sessions.

**Student Lounge**

Fresh from her miniscule workout and heading from the gym, Alexandria began to walk towards the student lounge. Changed from the track suit she usually wore when working out, she was garbed in board shorts, a tank top, and a pair of blue Vans skate shoes. She looked every bit the skater punk, an image that belied her athletic history.

While walking, she took care to pull her flowing mane of purple colored hair into a ponytail, which she let lazily hang over her left shoulder. If there was anything she wanted to do, meeting and greeting wasn’t it. But she went anyways, if anything, it was a favor to her former instructor.

Upon entering the lounge, Alexandria took stock of everyone already there. There was the rather striking blonde sitting upon a couch, reading a Cosmopolitan magazine. Another woman, this one with auburn hair sat upon a love seat not too far off with a clipboard in hand. Was she…? Alexandria wasn’t going to assume anything.. other than the fact that the other two girls a shorter blonde and a girl with shorter black hair were new arrivals as well. But the girl with short black hair, (Reggie) was introducing herself to the woman on the loveseat as her ‘new Alpha’. That woman had to have been Isabella…

Another person, a guy (Roland), was wandering through the lounge as well, toweling off after a work out? All Alexandria could do was just shake her head before deciding to formally introduce herself to someone. Before she got the gumption to try and introduce herself, she saw what she could only imagine was a very pensive young man (Marcel) enter into the lounge. Quietly, she wondered to herself if he was going to be on her team as well.

Another dark haired girl (Orchid) was talking with the blonde on the couch, which only made Alexandria even more sure that the woman that was holding the clipboard was who she was supposed to report to.

Walking as quietly as she could up towards the loveseat, she stood a couple steps behind both Aurelie and Reggie, and next to the guy who'd just introduced himself as Robert, situating herself enough so her face could be clearly seen by who she thought was Isabella.

…Hi…,” she said, her voice somewhat quiet, “I think I’m in the right place. Ms. Stone, correct?” Nervously, she began fidgeting with her lip ring again. “I’m Alexandria Blythe.” Again, out of nervousness, she folded her arms across her abdomen.. and a very unsure smirk fell across her features. By God, she hoped her assumption was correct.

At Dom's words about how a head injury wouldn't serve a helping hand to retaining information, Aren lifted a finger into the air, grinning. “Ah, but it would give me an extension.” He raised a teasing eyebrow at that, happy to see his friend finally smiling again. He'd been in a lot of pain when they'd gotten out of the Tim Burton movie – which he had seen now; Cissa had insisted that he watch it with her while eating chocolate covered popcorn. (He was fast learning that her main diet consisted of little else but chocolate.) She'd exposed him to other things too (such as Teddy Rupskin... the bear that didn't eat children the way Cissa had said in the beginning of their nightmare escapade), and as pointed out by a few people – he was a lucky one of the newer Omegas because the team leader hadn't hated him at the start of his promotion. And it'd been pointed out that minus a few exceptions, Narcissa didn't like the new recruits for at least two weeks after they got their uniforms. (And then there were those that she still didn't like...)

Angst. Angst. Angst. Or at least, doing school work certainly did muster feelings akin to that, just in a very mild form. Madison sauntering into the library caused him to pause in beating his head against the textbook. “Hey Maddy,” Aren said with a smile, happy to have the brief interruption from his never-ending stack of homework. She'd been particularly quiet with him, and had he known her better, he may have began to wonder if he'd slighted her in some way. But he didn't, so the assessment wasn't there for him to make.

She strode past them, hunkering down in a computer chair – intent on being studious in a way that Aren and Dom were only pretending to be. Considering the fact that she had been avoiding him, he didn't think much of her not making conversation with the pair of boys at the table, believing it to be a type of normalcy for the raven haired girl.

Another lopsided grin painted Aren amused when Dom asked if he looked like a charitable person. “Well you certainly don't look like a Scrooge.” He stated, trying to make his expression sober long enough to be taken seriously. Which, flat out wasn't going to happen. I'm supposed to be better at the American government class, simply because I was born in America? Dom...” Another chuckle slid out of his chest. "I lived on the reservation my whole life... away from the most of the controversies and such that come with the legal system. You've lived in New York for how long now?

The Native American glanced down once more at the tedious work that was on the table; he had at least four assignments that had to be done when they started attending classes again, and had absolutely not motivation to do them.

It wasn't thirty seconds later that Aren gave another half-hearted attempt at trying to read the text on the pages. A hair floated gently in the air, and the way the lights were, Aren caught sight of it almost as soon as he got to the second sentence on his page. Immediately his attention was fully on that small spectacle – no doubt just some of the dust kicked up from occupants being in library; and he'd once again, completely abandoned even the thought of his homework. The last part of Dom's statement stuck out in his head though, and Aren closed up shop. “I studied enough today. What about you?

He'd mentioned a witness, and Aren stole a glance at the back of Maddy's head; her hands were knotted in her hair from some sort of frustration. “I don't even think she'll notice we're gone.” Aren said, staging whispering for the first time since they'd been in her. No, they'd not been overly loud, but they'd not been super quiet either.

Team Alpha's Moonlight

Name: Tsukino Kazuki
Ability: Barrier Creation
Location: Room and heading to Lounge

Tsukino rolled over in her bed and looked at the time on her clock. She pulled the sheets off herself revealing the purple nightgown she had on.She walked over to her closet and tried to figure out what she was going to wear today. She wanted to make a good impression when meeting her new team.It was going to be interesting of course.Tsukino just hoped she could be of use when the time came. Her abilities revolved around creating protective barriers of varying sizes and this ability wasnt exactly used for offense, like the usual forcefields.Tsukino found some white heels and decided she find something to wear with them. She rummaged through her clothes until she found a white skirt and a nice white halter shirt.Tsukino began to lay the clothes on her bed and looked outside. She saw many of the students outside playing before heading to whatever classes they had today. She herself had neglected to study her material for her Government Class. She sighed as she brushed her hair and sung softly to herself. She tied her hair into a ponytail and fixed her bangs.Today was going to be a long day that was for sure.

She finished getting herself dressed and other hygenic things as she began to make her way to the lounge. She wondered if any of her team members were there already. She heard the team Captain,Siren, had the power of manipulation of sound with psionic affects. The team leader was said to be nice and for Tsuki's sake she hoped the girl was.She tried to go through the list of notable team members in her head. There were alot but one did interest her.It was Belladonna who had the power of plant manipulation. That power was pretty cool to Tsukino since it could be used for attack. She then remembered another new member of the team like her.He had the power of Hydrokinesis or water manipulation. His name was Marcel. It was a really unique name and Tsuki liked it.She smiled as she walked down the hallway and made her way closer to the lounge. She looked around the corner to see a few people there already.Tsukino laid eyes on Isabella the leader of the alphas. She wanted to go introduce herself but didnt feel confident speaking to her yet.She looked around and noticed other members of alpha were there. She hoped all of they would get along as they worked for the greater good.Tsukino went down and sat on the nearby couch and began to read her book titled the 'Romance of the Three kingdoms'.She began to read and hum again to herself a sweet tune and her favorite song, Valerie.

"OH SHI-"

The last few words that came out of Dimitri's ugly mouth before he was introduced to cold water along with the rest of his omega/alpha peers. They were close to becoming bat food. Eveyone else had their powers to an extent while Dimitri was stuck with a spear and a battle cry that could rival Bella's scream anyday of the week.

Okay maybe not that extreme but it was close to being a contender.

Luckily the keys were found, Narcissa's squad did their part and their reward was none other than the person that was responsible for all of this: Nathan Leblanc. He explained to the group that this realm, what they were in was a result of his sleeping patterns. The boy had been micro napping, which was when the mind decided to go to bed without the body. Or in other words, it was when one was dreaming but he or she was unaware of it. At least he was in good hands here at the mansino.

From there, they saw clips portions of Leblanc's timeling with their own eyes. From him hearing the speech that his gift was a detreiment to society like other mutants before him, the young boy watching out for himself out in the dangerous streets, to changing the physical structure of his toys and meals. The clips of him being beaten along with his mother made Dimitri angry and at the same time he was blown away. He got the idea that he was just a kid and was able to replace reality with his own. But this was created without Nathan even knowing it? Lack of sleep created all of this. Dimitri thought of the effects if Nathan wasn't suffering from micro-napping and if he actually placed effort into changing their mansion. After a few words from Nathan, he gave one piece of advice to the gang before things went back to normal. Playboy didn't get the message so soon but when he was dropping he quickly understood what the kid meant.

One month later

The last month could be described as excitement, followed by lack of sleep and late night paranoia. Playboy's excitement that he finally got his wheels back, in addition to his sexy body was on a level that few people could understand. He was also glad to see his Alphas' back to their normal selves. That meant he was able to see Tara, Raine,Sophia, Chameleon and the other gorgeous bodies of the ladies out there. Not to mention they also got the privledge of checking out Dimitri's body 24/7. And as for that walk, the man was serious. So serious in fact that he didn't even bother changing a pair of clothes before doing so. He took a nice stroll half naked around NYC with more of an appreciation towards life and that anything can happen at any moment.

Shortly afterwards, Playboy was seen around campus with bloodshot eyes intermitttenly, or every few days. Some days he checked the halls and his bathroom just to see that everything was really back to normal, such as his face, body, etc. Other days he had dreams of being paralyzed from the waist down falling in water at dangerously low temperatures. Bad enough he was crippled but his powers were ineffective too? As if that wasn't bad enough, sleep paralysis happened to him a few times, which only made things worse. Dimitri was seen staying up all night until the sun came out; only then did he attempt to go back to sleep. One could make a good guess how his performance was in his classes during those type of days. Someone like Leonardo Rossi, also known as Renaissance Man, aka Dimitri's new roomate.

The playboy wanted Leonardo to get used to his new surrondings, get his feet wet in Dimitri's Domain first before he was going to go over the rules. If Dimitri had a personality and a demenaor like Narcissa, who had a grudge out for Alphas(seriously, it's just a name), the rules would be more strict. But since Leonardo was dealing with Playboy, or as others called him the panty dropper on a more personal level, the rules were pretty laid back. As for the women, well the Playboy had a..habit of bringing women to his, er their chambers. Some of them were given the option of wearing clothes or not. If Leonardo was cool and liked to get laid and have fun, Dimitri was willing to share some of the ladies he would bring over to Leo. If he kept climbing the ladder he could possibly go out with Dimitri; fellas night out as they engage in activities that only Dimitri and Leonardo could speak about. Dimitri woule let Leonardo know about that, which would lead him to an important rule he felt he had to go over.

No cockblocking.

None of that s**t was going down in Dimitri's Domain, especially the night before Spring Break was about to go down. With Playboy being back to normal on his sleep, he decided to start the celebration a bit early. He made a few calls that evening to a few ladies that wanted to have a good time. They were happy to celebrate spring break early and came around ten o'clock. Asking Scott to get the visitor passes were one thing but when he wanted to know more detail about it, Dimitri told him they were just going to kick back as his place and watch some movies. And he was sort of telling the truth. The girls were going back to his place and it was a movie with a camcorder being involved right? He knew Scott wasn't stupid, yet he gave them the passes anyway.

If Leonardo was going to be up around midnight or later he was allowed to party with Dimitri and the ladies. Blast some music, get to know some of the girls, typical laidback party s**t. But when it came down to business around 3-4 in the morning, Leonardo would end up sleeping with himself while Dimitri was going to take the party, and the girls to the bedroom.

Present day

Morning sneaked up to fast for Dimitri and the three ladies. Their clothes were scattered across Dimitri's room along with the camcorder. It ran out of juice after the recording footage reached its limit.Dimitri didn't want them to go but they had a productive day on their hands as well. The three of them were sunggled next to Dimitri when one of them rubbed their soft hands on Playboy's chest.
"Baby? Baby wake up."

Sadly she wasn't able to get through to Playboy, besides him turning to her and wrapping his arms around her slim waist. It was only when she directed her hand downstairs did Dimitri's eyes slowly begin to open and a smile slowly formed on his face as he kissed her near her neck.
"Hey what's up babe?"

"Can you walk us out?"

"You guys don't want to stay just a bit longer?"

"We can't. Buzy day ahead for all of us. We're not on spring break remember?"

"Oh s**t yea i remember. Well we can all at least get freshened up in the shower right?"

"Sounds like a good idea to me."

And with that Nina woke up the other two girls, Gina and Tina who remembered that they had business to do as well. Dimitri and the three girls all went into the shower and enjoyed one last session in the shower with the camcorder(it had one minute of juice left apparently) before he dryed off and slipped on some capri pants and some sandals. After he lead them towards the entrance, he gave one last kiss to all of them before he watched them head out. The only thing that would make this event awkward was if someone caught him, especially one of his new Alpha teammates. That would be a memorable first impression wouldn't it?

"Bye ladies.

Name: Leonardo "Renaissance Man" Rossi
Team: Alphas
Location: All Around The Mansion, To The Student Lounge
New Alphas? At Least I’m Not The New Guy Anymore

User Image
Leonardo woke up that morning not in his bed. His roommate Dimitri had brought a hoard of girls over, and Leonardo decided at once to not be involved within the slightest. Who else could sleep with all of the noise they were making? Still, as soon as Leonardo saw them walking through the door, he had taken a pillow, a blanket, and his iPod and made his way down to the library. Finding a back corner near a bookshelf where he could stretch out, Leonardo had put in his iPod and attempted to fall asleep. The animal mimic had slept surprisingly well that night, considering that he slept on the carpet floor of a library. He had mused beforehand that he might have to find a bear in the forest and mimic its ability to hibernate in a cave, but he was out before he knew it.

His iPod was still lightly playing as he awoke. And of course the battery was nearly drained. Sighing, he sat up, clicking off his iPod and pulling the earbuds out of his ears. Inspecting his left hand, he flexed it and twisted it around a little. There was a small clicking sound in the wrist; but all in all, it was nice considering that it was a re-grown body part. Pushing himself up into a standing position, he collected his belongings and headed up to the dorm room. The mansion was quiet at the moment; no one had seemed to wake up at this time. Luckily he was able to get back into his dorm room without disturbing his roommate and his… guests. Changing quickly into a T-shirt and shorts, Leonardo left the room, ready for his morning jog.

After his two-mile jog, Leonardo returned to the mansion sweaty and slightly out of breath. He wasn’t in shape as much as he was in SHIELD because in the past couple of months he had been focusing more on his studies than his physique. After grabbing a bottle of water, he made his way back up to his room, not in the least surprised that they hadn’t woken up yet. After showering and a quick change, Leonardo felt fresh and ready to face the day. He was feeling much better than he was a month ago, when he had urges to suck the blood out of his teammates. Right now it was spring break, and Leonardo intended to use it for rest and relaxation… but more than likely he would cave and do a training session or two.

Heading down the stairs, he noticed a few voices coming from the student lounge. He wondered if it was a gathering of some of the Alphas and Omegas. Leonardo didn’t exactly have a chance to meet and greet with some of his comrades after the Halloween incident, so maybe today was a good day to be social. Stepping into the lounge, he spotted some familiar faces, and some not so familiar. He recognized Isabella, his leader, and with disgust, Narcissa, the Omega leader. Roland had his shirt off… apparently the man didn’t have the decency to put clothes on. Leonardo didn’t strut into the lounge after he was done with his sweaty run and show off his muscles… but hey, he was Leonardo. The new faces were interesting though; a blond that he remembered was a member of the Corsairs (Aurelie), a rather… strange looking pale woman (Orchid), a shorter guy with reddish hair (Robert), a woman with purple streaks in her hair (Alexandria), an Asian woman (Tsukino), and then his eye caught someone he recognized. She was a pale-looking short-haired girl… and then the name caught into his head. Reggie. Reggie Lambchild. He remembered from his time in SHIELD…

But hopefully she wouldn’t recognize him, right? Oh, who was he kidding? Of course she was going to recognize him. People have a tendency to remember you when you come face-to-face with them during a foot chase. The most important question was though, just how would she react to his being here?

“New guys, huh?” Leonardo asked Isabella, moving to stand next to her. Leonardo had always been a team player, and rule one of being in a team of teenagers was to be nice to them while still keeping an air of confidence and experience, like you’ve done this before. Leonardo was new to the Alphas, but not new to the whole ‘mutant team’ business. Of course, the Alphas were more laid back, larger, and he wasn’t the leader, but Leonardo didn’t mind one bit.

Turning to face the new Alphas, Leonardo spoke, “Hey there guys. I’m Leonardo, Leo for short. I’ve only been on the Alphas for a month now, but I can tell you already it’s one hell of a ride. And this pretty girl right here,” he referred to Isabella, “will be sure to take care of you, trust me.” The memories of the Halloween Town incident were still fresh in his mind. Isabella had been by his side the entire time when his leg had been torn off and had to be reattached. He’d never forget that, and Isabella had some of the deepest respect he could ever give one single person.

Omega: Gym // Student Lounge - It's a Brand New Day

User Image

Kerrigan's tennis shoes pounded on the treadmill as she kept running at a steady pace, sight distracted by the book propped up in front of her. She'd been pushing herself to take some more difficult classes, and now she was starting to feel it. Thank goodness it was spring break - it would give her time to catch up on her work and her social life. Flipping the page, green eyes scanning over the diagram contained within, she glanced down at the watch on her wrist. She'd been going at it for 45 minutes now - time to head to the student lounge to make sure that her best friend and team leader didn't kill any of the newcomers. Slowing the treadmill down gradually to cool down her muscles, the redhead dabbed at her exposed collar bone and face with a towel as she snapped the book shut and headed into the locker room for a quick shower and to get dressed once more.

Drying her hair and slipping into a slim-fitted skirt with a white tank top, the redhead pulled on a loose-fitting patent jacket - a purchase Cissa wouldn't let her say no to. People could say whatever they wanted about the blonde, but the girl had style, something which was apparently rubbing off on the tomboy that would only wear jeans and white tank tops when the two first met. Her brothers never let her hear the end of it the first time she wore a dress in front of them - the army brat in fashionista clothing. Boy, she sure showed them though. Thinking of her family brought a slight smile to her face - one day she hoped they would be able to come visit and meet her friends. Until then, e-mails and phone calls went a long way.

Slipping her book into her bag with the rest of her school stuff, she'd taken to just taking it with her everywhere she went. Any time she had a spare moment, it was spent flipping through her industrial engineering book, or perusing the charts and figures of her Human Locomotion textbook. It had special meaning for her - even just reading about it gave her idea for ways to improve her own power usage. The next Danger Room session was certainly going to be an interesting one. Her flats made almost no noise as she made her way through the hallways towards the Student Lounge, the sounds of a gathering already forming causing her to smile slightly. She liked getting new recruits - she could only hope that they were competent enough to pick up the basics right away. They would soon learn that their leader expected perfection from them the moment they put on the Omega label. Of course, he perk of being the leader's best friend meant that she could enjoy some leeway, which was often used to steer the newbies in the right direction so they could avoid the wrath of the Omega Sun Goddess. All the same, things had pretty much returned to normal since their nightmarish trip to Halloweentown - a trip that she did not care to re-live.

The minute she made her way into the student lounge, her eyes started picking out who the new Omegas were. Of course, since they lived together, Kerrigan had managed a sneak peak at the new roster, and it seemed they had some good blood moving up. And a s**t ton of new Alphas. While she had no problem with the Alphas, it was going to be a chore to make sure that peace reigned the halls. Better start stocking their dorm room with chocolate to appease the great blonde one. Speak of which…

Kerrigan neared her best friend, giving her a cheery smile as she set her bag down, smiling at Roland as well. Already one of the new recruits was approaching their leader, introducing herself as Orchid. The redhead gave her a small wave while not really saying anything - if Cissa wanted her help with anything, she would ask. Otherwise, Kerri was really just there to observe and keep the peace.

Since their return from Hell, Raine had been a bit slow to recover. It wasn't the magnitude of the ordeal that caused her to need a week in the Infirmary to recover - it was getting dropped in the lake. The nature of her powers made water a bad, bad thing for her. And so, as soon as she saw where she was going to land, Raine completely discharged her energy stores in one giant lightning flash to keep from electrocuting everyone. When she came to in the Med Bay, Dr. McCoy told her that she'd disrupted power in 3 consecutive counties…oops. None-the-less, she recovered with a lot of sleep and some playtime with balloons…funny how mutant powers, while so advanced, could be so simple at the same time. Of course, losing another week of classes meant that she was all the more behind, and every waking moment had been devoted to her school work or getting her various extra-curricular groups back on track.

And so, Raine woke early, leaving a note for Sophie that she was going to spend the day in the library, gearing up for a term paper that was going to be due not long after spring break. It was important that she get a start on it - she wanted to keep an eye on the upcoming political debates for her political science class. Nothing impressed a teacher more than being able to draw on current events in class, and there was certainly going to be a lot to talk about it seemed.

Surrounded by books, the firefly moved back and forth between reading and typing on her laptop, all the while listening to classical music on her iPod to keep her focused. She wasn't sure how long she had been there, but the sound of her stomach growling caused her to take a break from her studies, reaching into her bag and grabbing a granola bar she brought with her. Taking her headphones just before a beautifully melancholy cello solo, she found herself humming softly as she sat back in her chair adjusting her dress. The sound of her humming was interrupted by the soft whisperings of a familiar voice - a voice that made the slight grin on her face widen into an all out smile.

Standing, Raine made her way over to where she heard the voices, seeing Aren, Dom and Maddy. The two boys seemed to be getting up to go somewhere, the firefly putting on a catty smile as she peeked around a bookshelf.

"Shh!" she demanded, doing her best to seem stern and upset. Of course, the moment they looked at her, she broke into a broad smile and a soft fit of giggles. Emerging completely from behind the bookshelf, she placed both hands on her hips, glancing between all of them and the books in their hands.

"You boys going somewhere?"

Alpha - Academy Grounds // Hallways - Messing Around

It had been a month, and Tara still had nightmares about her body falling apart into a bloody, rotting heap. For the most part, however, things had gotten back to normal. She was caught up in all of her classes, so the next week of freedom was going to be about relaxing and spending some quality time outdoors. It wasn't exactly warm enough for her to lay out in a swim suit, but that was neither here nor there for the earthmover. She just enjoyed being outside, feeling the earth beneath her body and the warmth that it's feeling around her provided. Since her time as a zombie, she felt that her powers were a bit…different. Like she was more in tune with them than before, though that might just be her continual re-living of the feeling of being buried. Either way, she was glad that things had been quiet, and that now she had the time to just relax and enjoy her time at the Academy.

Stretching her arms over her head, Tara laid back in the grass, her hands moving down to make sure that her khaki shirt-dress stayed below her thighs like it should be. She had books laying open next to her, if only for appearances. Her hands twisted into her chocolate brown hair as she took a deep breath, collapsing back onto the ground with a satisfied smile on her face. Even though her eyes were closed, she could sense the movements of others as they came outside to jog or hang around. Of course she was cordial to those that came close to her, especially those she had gotten to know over the last month, but for the most part she remained to herself, basking in the sunlight and relishing in the outdoors. However, as the hours passed, and she was not really getting any reading done, she decided that it might be time to head inside and get something to eat, or at least find someone to entertain her.

Twisting her windswept curls back into a low bun, she gathered her books and bag, slinging it over her shoulder before picking up her boots rather than putting them on. If she had to go inside, she could at least enjoy the feeling of the earth under her feet as she walked there. As she approached she saw three girls she did not recognize being shown out by a scantily class Dimitri, who gave them each a kiss.

"Well! I'm gone for one night, and you replace me with snap, crackle and pop? And I thought what we had was special," she yelled out in an incredulous voice, her hands resting on her thin hips, cocked to the side. It was priceless to see their momentary panic before Tara broke out into a laugh, catching a stray curl blown across her face from the wind and tucking it behind her ear. Brushing past the trio as they walked down the pathway to the front gate, she adjusted the bag's strap on her shoulder before stopping in front of the self-proclaimed "Playboy". Her brown eyes travelled down his frame momentarily before glancing over her shoulder at the girls' disappearing silhouette and then back to him.

"Let me guess. Three best friends trying to get back at Daddy by making it with a no-good private-school boy? I'm guessing they don't know you can squirt lava as one of your bodily fluids." Tara turned her back to him, leaning in the doorframe and turning her attentions to the girls nearing the end of the walkway. The concrete seemed to raise under their feet, causing them to stub their toes and stumble slightly, Tara raising her hand to her lips to cover her chuckle. Turning her gaze back to Dimitri she gave a small grin and quick wink.

"You know, you keep picking up trash on the street, you're going to get an itch that hurts to scratch," she spoke simply, sticking her tongue out at him slightly to show that she was kidding around. Some might think that she was just mean, but this was Tara's sense of humor. He was the perfect target of these little games - sure enough of himself that he would play along, but still resistible. He was a nice package, she had to admit, but she didn't like someone opening her presents before her. And who knows how many times that package had been opened…

Scooting past him in the door, she didn't really look back as she started towards the cafeteria to grab some food, not really in the mood to meet the new students that were going to be joining them on the Alphas. At this point, it was only a matter of time before some disaster or training session brought them all into one place and she would be forced to get to know them. If Bella wanted them there, she would call them. That much was certain.

Omega, Location: Lounge/Room
More people, well this is awkward…

Roland stood there for a moment and just watched the new students pour in. The majority of them seemed like they were Alphas, which was good in a sense. If he remembered correctly they were much more depleted than Omega was, though this could very well turn the balance in their favor. However there were a few advantages the Omegas had, one thing was that the majority of the team was veterans. And though Roland himself was still “green” as he had heard Narcissa describe it, he himself was far more of a veteran than most people. After all, it’s not every day you meet someone that has spent nearly half of their life fighting and killing mutants. Granted the only people that probably had more experience with this was Gideon, and possibly Bella and Narcissa. The women had quite impressive abilities, and Gideon, well Gideon was a bit of a mystery to him. He barely spoke a word, around him yet gave off the impression that he had done what some could consider terrible things in the past, probably worse that what Roland himself had done.

As he watched the new people come in, by the looks of them the majority appeared to be Alphas, the overwhelming feeling that he was missing his shirt dawned upon him. Luckily he had only draped it over his shoulders for a few moments so it was relatively dry. He personally couldn’t run with a shirt on, got too damp and uncomfortable for him. He was very much used to exercising in the heat of New Orleans. Quickly he threw on his shirt, fitting quite comfortably across his chest.

To Isabella he responded kindly, “Well the political weather is rather insane, but the weather outside is wonderful. I got a good run out in the woods, perfect weather for it if I can say so myself.” He’d been following the news and the way things were going humor was the only logical way he could get past these kinds of things in his mind.

He saw Leonardo as he turned to examine the new people, his golden eyes scanning about the room, “Hey how’s it going?”

Kerrigan walked in, seeming to be observing the scene as well. She looked like she was ready to put a fist into someone if things got out of hand. She smiled at him, in the typical friendly smile one might give to a teammate. Otherwise, it was a pleasant smile. Looking to her, “Hey, I’m experimenting with French cooking this evening, beef bourguignon to be precise, and I was hoping to have someone taste test for me. While I bet Dr. McCoy enjoys my cooking, one can only use the same person so many times. Perhaps you can ask the others to try it out?” looking at Isabella, Narcissa, and Leo, “Of course you guys are invited as well. And boss, I’m baking a chocolate cake for desert if that peaks any interest.” He'd heard about her infamous diet of chocolate. Seriously she maintained that type of figure and ate mostly chocolate? What the hell?

To the new students, pointedly to the girl with the long nails and to the brunette in the black dress, “Morning new bloods, name’s Roland. I’d offer to shake your hands, but I currently could do with a good shower at the moment.” reaching into his pocket he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and drew one into his mouth. Pulling a simple lighter he struck it, sparks flew but nothing happened. Finally after two more tries he got a fire going and he let it burn along the end of the cigarette, taking a long drag in as he felt the burn enter his lungs. He briskly walked off from the lounge and off towards the showers. Stopping in his room to grab a towel, he saw Dimitri waving good bye to not one, not two, but three attractive women.

“You my friend, are an impressive inspiration for all men.” he said bluntly to him. The man, from what Roland could gather in the month of living down the hall from him, had at least one woman in his room each night. It was a parade of women. It was insane, the man must have the stamina of a thoroughbred. Tara seemed to give Dimitri a hard time about his womanizing ways in a friendly manner. However she did have a point, he did have quite a few risks cavorting with various women. “Seriously, how the hell do you do that without something biting you in the a**? Oh, and on another note you two I’m doing French cooking tonight, if either of you are interested just let me know later. It’ll probably be around seven tonight.” He quickly darted into his room and grabbed a towel and the water-proof stereo her purchased a few weeks ago. He placed the stereo on the sink and turned it on, the opening clicks of the Dionysus song “Le Mecanique de Coeur” were as soothing as the warm water that sprayed him as he continued to shower.

After a good fifteen minutes of showering he got out and dried off. Throwing a towel along his waist he walked to his room and quickly changed. Throwing on a pair of dark jeans and a simple white cotton shirt, he then threw on a black shirt over it and decided to roll up the sleeves to reveal the tattoos along his arms. He thought he might as well look to be somewhat normal around the Academy, so this was the beginning of it. Opening his closet door, he looked down at the bottom and checked to see if the bottles of wine Gambit had picked up for him. Not the most elegant of wine, but they tasted good. Three red, three white. Hopefully this would be enough for people who decided to show up for his exhibition of cooking. Worst case scenario, he could enjoy the wine by his lonesome, because despite his normal demeanor today was important to him.

It was the second anniversary of Sonya’s death. He could remember everything clearly from that fateful day. While only a few of the people, including Xavier, McCoy, and Logan knew what was going on, the rest of the team wasn’t entirely aware of it. Cooking something like this was going to be a good exercise for him, a challenge for him to keep his mind off of today. Stepping out of the room into the hall, he made his way towards the library to find the old cookbook with the recipe. And with the likelihood that no one was going to use the book, he got himself ready for a long day of working in the kitchen.

Omega - Library - The Breakfast Club

User ImageMaddy sighed, brushing her now completely mussed hair behind her ears. The work certainly wasn't difficult, it was just the tediousness of it all that she hated. She would rather cut some Breakworlder open to learn its heart that look at black and white pictures for three hours. Unfortunately, the X-Men had more pressing matters on their minds than getting specimens for their most scalpel-happy student. The girl seemed to break easily, her mind looking for an excuse not to study. Massaging her eyes, Madison retorted to Dominik that "If you run off and I don't say anything, I'll be an accomplice, no? Then Kitty'll be very cross at me indeed." It was, of course, meant to be a joke, but she heard the words leaving her mouth in a flat, plain tone. "So... sorry."

The girl flipped a page over, continuing to a diagram of a Shi'ar blood cell. She would be happy when her tiny class finally moved on from this. At least then she would get to study silicon based life-forms.

She shifted in seat, cutting out a small piece of the boys' low-tone conversation, but she could tell what they were saying at least. "You should know notice everything, Aren," she said, still not looking away from her papers. "Like how Ms. Grey's mouth twitches ever so slightly when she sees Scott and Frost kiss, or how Narcissa has a thing for ethnic guys." Hispanic. French. Native American. Maddy found it a little funny, but wasn't quite sure why. People were fun to watch. Well, fun wasn't the right word. it was just interesting. Still, the girl could hear the constant clicking the clock made as the second hand turned, and she could hear the off and on beating of well done nails on a laptop's keyboard somewhere in the large room.

Raine's entrance sealed the 'I'm going to be a bad student deal.' Finally looking up, Maddy pulled the hair out from behind her ears and made a poor attempt at combing I with her fingers. "To hell with it," she whispered to herself. She felt like her mind was going to melt down if she kept up like this. She was already accepted to all of the colleges she had applied to, although she would probably end up staying with Xavier and crew due to the most current crisis.

Leaning back in her chair, Maddy cracked her back and stretched her tired arms. She always forgot to do this after long bouts of activity like climbing up and hiding in trees. "You know what, I don't care where you people go, but I'm coming. ...and, f.y.i., despite my large dislike for telepaths, there is a very nice little girl in the third grade who'll do info transfers in exchange for shiny things." Seriously. That kid was like a cat. "T'is how I caught up after the Limbo debacle... and you'll actually learn what you need."

Blasphemy, she knew.

"Excuse Me!?"

"Who is she!?"

"She's just an ex, a crazy ex don't worry about her. You guys should get going." Dimitri told Tina and Gina before he turned back towards his "ex girlfriend". Unless he missed something, such as a wink he was sure that Tara was kidding with him. Dimitri was one that liked to kid around and was willing to dish it out.

"It's over between us! You thought there was a spark, but there wasn't even a flash of light. You can't cook and you don't shave. Who does that!?" he yelled out.

He wasn't sure how many would look over to both of them and realize that they were either kidding, or they really were together at one point. They shouldn't believe that Tara didn't shave however. She looked good everytime Dimitri walked towards her. Of course there were other places which were left up for discussion. He turned back to see the ladies out only to be greeted by Roland and Tara. Dimitri was seen as an inspiration for all men in Roland's eye but Tara wasn't exactly a fan of his ways; calling him out on revealing his mutant side to the ladies.

"Thanks." he told Roland before he replied to Tara.

"You think im no good? Im offended, i really am. But they know i can squirt something else, does that count?" he asked before he remembered that he didn't get the chance to tell Roland what made him so special. It had been over a month now but it didn't hurt for Roland to receive an encore.

"Yeah, i can create and control magma. Im a bit late on that." he said to Paladin before Tara advised him on picking his women more wisely. He laughed when he saw her stick out her tongue towards him. Did she really like to tease the Playboy that much?

"They're not trash. They just wanted to participate in celebrating Spring Break a little earlier." he told both of them.

Dimitri gave Roland thumbs up when he mentioned that he was going to make some french cooking.before spending his time with Tara, catching up to her as they would both make their way towards the cafe. Did she really think that after possibly lowering Dimitri's chances of hooking back up with them down that escape was that easy? She had another thing coming. Plus they could get to know each other a little bit, since getting to know the new teammates was being put on the back burner.

"I was thinking that for our date, i mean Roland's dinner tonight we can play dress up. I can show up in my orange jumpsuit and you can show up in police uniform. I'll even wear the cuffs if i get too naughty."

@ Ѻмεα- My kitchen senses are tingling
User Image
It had been awhile since Leion had been back at the mansion, but the one thing he knew was the kitchen, he wasn't amazing at cooking, but he had been in the cooking class at the academy for a little while now, and it would take an idiot to screw up an omelet. He had a tendency to hang around the kitchen, not to beg food from others, but because he liked cooking, well he preferred baking because he liked cake, but that's not the point.

As he approached the kitchen he could tell that someone was already in there cooking with the smell of bacon, eggs and . . . steak? He entered the area as Christian shut off the T.V. "Nothing good on then?" he asked as he headed for the fridge to grab two eggs, a small chunk of cheese and a partially used package of bacon. He set his ingredients down as he looked for the right sized pan and found it in the sink, after a short cleaning he began to cook the bacon for his omelet on high heat.

"So how was Halloween Town?" he turned his head back to Christian "I wish I could have been there, I love that movie." he added as he turned back to his now slightly burnt bacon and removed it from the pan before breaking the eggs and cooking them in the bacon grease with the cheese adding broken off bits of the bacon in an turning back to Christian as he flipped the omelet in half, missing his mark and making it lop-sided.

He sighed as he carried it to the counter where he frequently ate his meals, he didn't really like eating ate tables ever since their encounter with the Hellfire Club and the poison. Leion didn't really speak to Sidetrack often, he remembered vaguely offering him some energy in Limbo, but beyond that he couldn't think of any other times.
