Well, that's true. But, the old ones should be left up to be continued by those that put their hard work into them. And, new threads for the same ones can be opened, or something. I mean, it's unfair to be set one way or the other.

But the fact still remains: the sudden disappearance of key characters that was the catalyst of change will strike a very hard blow on how you will use your characters again.

Precisely. Take the south, for the prime example:
Tz set that up entirely, himself. The city, the NPCs, the lands culture, plot, map, etc. Literally everything.
And as you said, Kei- without Sefas, Harkel or the Captain, we have no way to continue that plot we had going. I can't continue to use his characters for guidance, nor can I know what he had in store to make this hunt the party was on go on, without it being very poorly done.
plus the fact was, those were his ideas, and with him gone, both Gaimei and I expressed guilt or discomfort in continuing to use them.

That is the downside when one particular character takes too much participation that other people do. When he suddenly leaves or disappears, everyone is extremely affected.

Also, I'm really sorry about this but I managed myself into a somewhat big discussion that ended with me realizing about myself and that I need more time to think. I'm depressed and cannot do anything right... oh, so sudden. I'm really sorry, being absent when the guild's all renovating.
